According to my Google Translate version, it says he talked with speed skaters about their outfits because he was wondering if incorporating the materials and style in a FS costume would improve the speed at which he could turn. (I guess for jumps?) Yuzu the technical innovator.... Imagine getting to watch Yuzu perform in a speed skating unitard... ...oops. replied before I saw the other translation. . . . You know, it would probably be within the rules if Yuzu did a program telling the story of a speed skater- he'd have a reason to wear a speed skater's outfit then....bad @rockstaryuzu ! Bad! Down, girl!

There's an award for that? Wow. Of course Yuzu would win it. 🤣

Fan uploads are the low-hanging fruit. But that doesn't necessarily mean that this will stop once the fan uploads are gone. 😕

Sorry to see Kevin leave, but after such a tough GP season I can't say it's a surprise...at least I got a chance to toss a stuffie for him at ACI before he retired.

I usually have to read legal speak two or three times before I can figure out what it's saying, too.
-
Please keep in mind, I don't know that much either. I'm basing my assessment of the situation on what I could read in that twitter post. What that post says, makes it sound like SBS thinks they have the right to ask to take down ANY video posted on the internet that has ISU content, no matter who posted it or where it's coming from, unless it's geoblocked in Korea. Also, ISU content includes speed skating and short track speed skating, as well as synchronized skating and figure skating. So we're not the only ones suffering.
-
Good question.
-
That's crazy. If you read that carefully, it seems that it says, in essence, that SBS, whoever the flying **** they might be, has the legal right to regulate all ISU-related videos uploaded to any internet platform, regardless of origin, as long as they are not geo-blocked for Korea. That means that not only fan-uploaded videos, but any videos of ISU competitions uploaded by anyone, including other broadcasters who have also purchased broadcast rights, can be deleted at SBS's request unless geo-blocked for Korea!!! Who the freakin' frackety-frack ever agreed to that contract at ISU?! Or did they simply fail to read the fine print? Like, wtf?!! This sounds like SBS thinks they have exculsive worldwide rights to all ISU content. Geez louise!

Thanks!

Since they're deleting videos, I thought I would try an download this one because it's my all-time favorite skate ever. And YouTube won't let me download until I subscribe to YT Premium. Little f**kers. Trying to make money off a video they'd copyright strike in an eyeblink! Fancams are going to become our only hope at this rate ...

If It Wasn't for Yuzuru, I'd Never Have....

Wow. Congratulations on getting through that. -
I like her FS now...didn't really like it at ACI...but I think she's figured it out finally and can give a good performance with it. I also liked the ACI version of OCS...but I feel like it would have been better to go a different direction with it than the flapper character they were trying. In my opinion, OCS is an innocent and happy piece of piece music and they could have taken it in that direction, but maybe Dave Wilson was a bit blinded by Zhenya's resemblance to Catherine Zeta-Jones as Roxy Hart in Chicago and couldn't see the other possibilities.

I miss 4T3A already, and I've only seen it once. I'm kind of starting to hope Brezina decides to go public with that 4S3A he bragged about at Helsinki and put it in a competition program. Why do I hope this? Because moving the sport forward and raising the level of the competition is what I want to see all the time.

I find it hard to envision Dai making the final 6 at Japanese Nationals even, for exactly this reason. Japan has depth of talent on the men's side, too. It's maybe not going to be quite the bloodbath the women's side will be, but it won't be easy by any stretch of the imagination, even without Yuzu.

I can tell you that the second sentence starts with 'Tohoku', aka the region where Sendai is. The rest is a mystery... Google Translate says the first sentence is "A wonderful person came" and the second sentence seems to be referring to the number of photos related to Tohoku at the exhibit..."Tohoku 3 shots!" ? I guess they mean 3 pics of Yuzu...

Those gifs of baby Yuzu playing dodgeball...so soft with the girls, then full-on ultra-competitive against the guys...so cute!
-
Same!
-
of course he did.
-
Plus he's so level-headed. I love that quote he gave about not rushing to get better but going at his own pace instead. So far his own pace looks set to take him really far.
-
Let's face it, he was simply blessed at birth by fairy godmothers or angels or Pooh or something...
-
His level of exercise and the fact he probably eats extremely healthy all the time would naturally give him great skin anyways.
-
The K-Pop world seems like it's pretty demanding of its stars, so I'm happy for Jun-Hwan that he's in skating for now. By comparison, figure skating appears to be the healthier world.
-
I think this is the best example ever of how to properly use imagery and positive thinking in sport, because he's focused on the goal (winning) and not the extraneous details (whether or not he skates error-free).
-
True.

Even if it was random like that, it still makes me uncomfortable to see it.
