OH MY GOSH I LAUGHED OUT LOUD
-
I think so. The attempts he made at GPF Torino, you could totally see it was one extra rotation.
-
Yuzu ever-so-casually answered an interview question about how his 4A was going by saying he could now jump 4F and the whole thing was in the NHK Cup pamphlet. So some fanyus shared on weibo and Twitter, and here we are in Frost Cuckoo Land. Guys, do you suppose the reason he learned to jump 4F was because 4A was being such a challenge that he switched to working on 4F for a break? So basically out of frustration?
-
I feel like these would do for the violin version, but if he's using piano the effect of the music is different. So I can't wrap my head around the red. Maybe something Swanyu-esque?
-
Thank you for the perfect case study of how fanyus lose their minds! Seriously, Yuzu, how we supposed to stay sane?
-
I like it, but I think Yuzu proved with white LGC that there's a risk of disappearing against the white boards and the white ice. Maybe if it was more gold than white.? The music is so playful that I'm thinking bouncy pastels and twinkling blues and greens.
-
This person put it best: So, what do you think he'll wear?
-
Having listened to both versions (piano, and violin) of Rondo, I personally think the piano suits skating better. And when I listen to the piano version, it brings to mind images of a playful kitten exploring the house and getting into mischief, accidentally knocking things over, and teasing the dog. A role which I can easily imagine Yuzu portraying on ice - it would be interesting and delightful if his program turned out to be like that.
-
But of course.
-
They're probably all sick to death of Zoom, FaceTime, Google Meet, Teams, etc.
-
Why do I feel like this is actually much bigger news than it appears? Can Yuzu's dream of doing a program with every possible quad in it be far off?
-
Does it really say that? Do you mean to tell me that something JSF had a hand in, actually praises Yuzu? . . . Is the world ending?
-
We already know what Yuzu at the boards is like :
-
I recommend against growing a long curly mane of hair though
-
No kidding
-
That was my interpretation of his words as well. Remember we're talking about the guy who skated Origin on a badly sprained/injured ankle against doctor recommendations at CoR 2018. He's either learned to be cautious , or it's fairly serious.
-
Right, thanks for reminding me. Actually I remember now that I prefered all of them to Lysachek. And Stephane was robbed. not because Daisuke wasn't better - he was - but because I disagree so strongly with the score Lysachek got.
-
And boy, was Plush ever ticked off about it. And I have to say I agree, either Plush or the others deserved that win, not that other guy.
-
I utilize it liberally. Gives me so much peace of mind.

Extremely important point. I think people are fearing that Yuzu has decided he is an island and can handle all this exclusively by himself without consulting anyone at all, since he has a history of doing just that ( and then coming to grief.) And when you know for a fact there's a dedicated team of experts dying to help him if only he would ask, it's hard to stay quiet. But it could all , 100%, just be because COVID.
-
Well, if Yuzu's plans for his recovery work out ( and I hope they do although I really wish he would get some input from a sports medicine expert) , then we'll be here again in 3 or 4 weeks time, freaking out and panicking even more about Yuzu's plans to jump 4A at either CoR or JNats....because that's just how his life is. My nerves...I'd say they were shot from following him, but I actually think they all got up and left me in protest, at this point....
-
I don't think we will hear anything from his team other than well wishes and maybe them asking Yuzu to come back to Toronto so that he can get proper treatment for his ankle from the same group of experts who treated him before the Olympics. As far as anyone can tell from what is available on social media and in interviews, Yuzu has simply stopped communicating with them altogether ( and for no discernible reason, it seems. He just...stopped). If we get any news about his ankle, it's going to be from Yuzu himself, is my guess.
-
Nothing we can do now except pray that he'll have the good sense to take it slow and let his ankle heal well, and send him our good energy for healing that ankle. Bet we never thought 4A meant 4 Ankle injuries but here we are, ankle injury #4 (that we know of) ....
-
Exactly. And, Yuzu, please make sure you get the best possible treatment from the right people, the ones who helped you recover from your injuries before.
-
Because he keeps pushing the envelope, is why. We love him for it but there's costs associated...
