Apparently I don't handle the stress of the unknown well. I feel as nervous now as I do for every other one of Yuzu's competitions, be it ACI or Worlds 2019.

Tell me, people who were here before Pyeongchang.....was the stress comparable? Because on the one hand: You had already seen him compete a few times that season Knew his programs Knew his costumes Knew his state of preparation before his injury Knew he was under the care of his coaches Knew he was definitely going But, on the other hand: You knew he had been injured Didn't know his recovery status Didn't even fully know his layout once he got there because he was trolling It was the Olympics

I think Yuzu has had his SP much longer than when Jeff did the interview. Jeff talked about the process and how it was frustrating to make a video and wait for a reply video and make another video with changes and so on, and that Yuzu was the one he did this with, and that the program turned out great, implying that Yuzu was already skating it more or less in its ideal form. The October video he sent was surely some normal revisions and polishing.

Me too! The New York Times story and LGC were my first true exposure to him. I was impressed by that Stephane quote about Yuzu being the most complete skater ever and I wanted to learn more. During Sochi I had some awareness from Canadian media as "that Japanese teenager who beat Our Hero Patrick Chan " but as I didn't care much about Patrick Chan, I didn't really pay attention After the NYT story I came across stories about Yuzu and Javi and their training situation and I thought it was delightful and decided to support them.

Yuzu would not be a good ice dancer for several reasons, but he could do pairs with Rika Kihira and she would lift him. I think his interest in lifting anybody else would be below zero. Why should he lift other people when the much better alternative is HIMSELF being boosted into the air and twirled around?

Wow, wishing for a quick and full recovery for Zhenya. And of course even after Zhenya had multiple false negative tests over days before she finally tested positive, Morisi was still sent to the competition, and I think we can reasonably expect Alina and Kamila to show up at the gala, as planned. No problems there, none at all

He said he's taking a little time to go there and see his family for his birthday, while there isn't much going on (in terms of training for competitions). He's going back to Montreal on Monday. I'm wondering how he has a resident visa for Canada and she doesn't.....he said he's had it only since January so maybe hers got held up.

Roman said in his latest video that he didn't want to reveal his music, but ISU revealed it (as he knew they would) because there is a deadline for skaters to upload their program information to the site, so he had to send it in. He didn't say when the deadline was, but I would be keeping an eye on the ISU profiles of CERTAIN PERSONS who may be forced to submit their music in the near future despite how Mysterious they may wish to be

It was really nice that Jeff said he was so excited to be on the ice together with Yuzu again because he misses him, instead of it going "I'm so excited.....to see this program in competition." Yuzu has a lot of people who say they admire him or are in awe of him or wish he was at the same event as them, but not a lot of people tend to talk about him as a friend. Especially during this time, when people are missing each other and having to communicate in different ways and Yuzu is around even less than normal and much less than everyone else, it's good to know that at least Jeff and Javi are thinking about him as more than just an absent competitor. As for SP music, it's fantastic that we could consider "different vibe from Chopin" as anything from to to and as far as we know, they're all equally likely

Cute.....the doll looks like if somebody was asked to make a Yuzuru Hanyu doll but they'd never seen Yuzuru Hanyu before, and was relying only on descriptions, but the descriptions were just "he's Japanese and he has a mole on his cheek and is wearing a suit"

So Mone got the highest SP score of all four categories.....I feel proud of that tiny ponytail baby

Yuzu's watch is very pretty but I don't know if I would wear it.....I don't suit yellow gold and the detailing is a little too 'sweet' for my style. (I would be more likely to wear the one he wears, with the leather strap and white face.) But it would be a gorgeous keepsake to have. Luckily I am not in China and also not prone to spending 1k on keepsakes, so my credit card is safe I wonder if, like Naomi Osaka, Citizen would ever get Yuzu to wear a watch at a competition. It's probably more risky that he'd fall and smash it on the ice than her falling and smashing it on the ground, but maybe swanning around the rink for a bit at a practice session to let himself be photographed without jumping..... black UA + classy watch + standing in front of the CITIZEN sign on the boards would be advertising material for C-Chan for the next year at least
