  1. But.....if Yuzu were to aim for the first ratified quad-quad combination in history at his advanced age.....that would be.....
  2. I LOVE to read old forums about Recently Mushroom Yuzu! Some of the posts from 2012 are very funny or cute in hindsight. He's going to be very popular for sure!!!!! I'm sure he already has an agent! I have always thought Hanyu's PCS was underscored through out the entire season' 'Training alongside other really strong skaters (Javi!!) should be good for him, as competitive as he is Yes they are giving him that giant Pooh Bear because they noticed Yuzuru has a pooh tissue box during competitions (took them that long to make this observation!)....Now Yuzuru and his pooh bear has became public agenda. (And I'd still like him to try a 4A... am becoming megalomaniac here, but it's Hanyu, it's okay ) And it's lovely to see that Plushenko's comments about Yuzuru have been admiring and consistent for over a decade. He always respected Yuzu and treated him as a brilliant athlete, artist, and a serious competitor for himself personally, since Yuzu was only 15 years old.
  3. Here's a fun (?) side effect of WC. I've been trying to shift 5 extra lbs of weight I gained over the holidays, but.....chips..... Well, I have lost 3 lbs this week from stress nausea. When Yuzu is at a competition, I get sick to my stomach and I'm too nervous to snack or eat anything beyond the most basic meals. I thought maybe I had a stomach flu but it was just this guy -> Anyway if Yuzu goes to WTT I will fit back into my last year's pants, but I think I would rather be more flabby and less stressed
  4. In front of a white wall, even, for extra Fanyu authenticity points
  5. How are they all arriving together? They weren't all coming from the same place. Maybe they met up on layover? I think Yuzu casually stroll in at the last moment and inform everyone that he's been in Stockholm for 2 weeks already, quarantining.
  6. Yuzu voiceover, perched on a roof dressed like Batman: for too long i've said too much. i was young and foolhardy then. too trusting. let too many people in. no more. no one can ever know the truth. for their protection.....i must forever stay.....a mystery. *updates his ISU bio hobbies section to say None instead of Music*
  7. I can see some artistic inspiration from Sasha Cohen as well, although he's never talked about her. I have a suspicion that his determination to skate to R&J at the Olympics might have been inspired by watching her at Torino. Her program was also choreographed by David Wilson, and perhaps why he had to beg a reluctant DW to do it. My favourite version is the one from Finlandia. specifically Tessa and Scott reacting to it and not looking very happy...and the girl whose jaw drops at his 4T and she dramatically pushes her mouth closed, lololol
  8. Here is the video of Team Russia watching the end of Yuzu's SP. As a bonus you get to see Mishin's :| face as well, and his excellent outfit I think the moment Yuzu hit his lunge, Plushy knew he was done for. You can see in different videos, all the other teams gave a standing ovation except these guys
  9. He seems to be image training his piano playing for the first part of the video, which is appropriate
  10. A JANET JACKSON MEDLEY? Katya Kurakova is the hero we didn't realize we needed!
  11. Funny request but is there any compilation of the really dramatic, sparkly, CGI-heavy promotional materials/commercials/skater introductions that Japanese networks make for competitions? You know the ones, that have either Bolero or Turandot playing while each skater is like.....floating in space on a diamond, or superimposed on a giant flower, or whatnot? I would like to see all of them in one place
  12. It's hard to say because if there was a way to contact him that had a good chance of succeeding, there would be thousands of people using that way Under normal non-COVID circumstances, your best bet might have been recording your music on a CD and actually mailing it to the Toronto Cricket Club, because they do collect fan mail and packages for him there. But since he's not there now and the club is closed for normal operations, who knows.....you could maybe try contacting the Japan Skating Federation and asking if they accept fan mail for skaters? https://www.skatingjapan.or.jp/jsf/
  13. I was able somehow to access the full article. Here's the section about just that wine.
  14. So.....Jeff and Yuzu were looking for a piano piece but didn't find one that clicked.....? If I used Instagram or Twitter I would spam Jeff with this It has all the strong points of Chopin that fit Yuzu's style except it's not Chopin! It's lyrical, delicate, with a memorable motif, building to a powerful, majestic and musically sophisticated climax before shifting into a major key for a gentle and beautifully lingering ending! It sounds like delicate little birds escaping their cage and fluttering up to the heavens! It would thematically go with Heaven and Earth as a set even though they're musically different! It's easily editable into SP length! It would send Russian judges into swoons of delight! IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BACK OF HIS FS COSTUME LOOKS!! OK, I'll stop.
  15. The site admins must not update each person's bio live as they receive new information, because that would be time-consuming. I wonder if they did a mass upload of new details for certain sections, but he didn't give them any new information, so those sections on his bio accidentally wound up blank. *Javi voice* Yuzuru is a mystery
  16. Ahhhh I got it! I'm happy I switched things around, I had A and B the other way until the last second
  17. Philip in November 2017 when Yuzu was injured, implying it was his own hubris that led to his accident, likely comfortably assuming Yuzu had almost no chance of OGM now: "The question now is whether pride literally came before the fall that has cast some doubt on Hanyu’s ability to win a second straight Olympic title – an achievement that, added to the rest of his career record, I feel would make him inarguably the greatest men’s skater in history." "Since World War II, only Dick Button of the U.S. has won more than one men’s Olympic singles title (1948-52). For Hanyu to do it in an era with exponentially greater technical difficulty would put him alone atop skating’s Olympus." Philip in February 2018 watching Yuzu come back from his ~prideful injury to win OGM:
  18. Happy New Year to everyone who is already in the future, or about to be! Here in Canada we still have some time to go. I was playing around with the colours of Yuzu's H+E costume and gloves for fun. I'll call these ones the Hana Ni Nare tribute.
  19. I was reading more about the historical hero of the movie soundtrack Yuzu is skating to, Uesugi Kenshin. He once had a big battle with Nobunaga Oda's forces (and defeated them). That's our Nobu's famous warlord ancestor. I can't wait to hear what he thinks of this program This also made me laugh. Kenshin had a legendary rivalry with another lord named Takeda Shingen. It was by all accounts a respectful and enjoyable if bloody feud. When he retired from competition -- I mean, when he died, eheheh -- Kenshin cried and said, "I have lost my good rival. We won't have a hero like that again!" Now who does that remind you of?
  20. Shoma Yuzuru Stephane casually trying to collect another Japanese skater for his school by supporting him in the K&C when his coach isn't there, because it worked last time (original gif source no longer there)
  21. Finally a tribute program in honour of Keiji Tanaka.
  22. I think it's something about the position and placement of his right hand (not his left hand so much). It looks like it's part of a dramatic gesture, as if he is about to unfurl his arms and do a flamenco dance move, or he's in the middle of one.
  23. My instant first thought was "something Spanish?" and then I thought "Sailor Moon??" Then martial arts. Now I don't know. It could be anything, really.....taken without its costume, Seimei opening looks very similar to Javi's Malaguena, and they are completely different genres, so anything is possible
  24. Somewhat overdue but he's here! (istockphoto)
