    I'm hoping Mikhail does well, just because he's been dumped on so hard for the rough season he's had... but I don't want anyone to beat Javi. I really really really want his last competition to be golden.... (and then for him to be at next years Fantasy on Ice with Yuzu, especially in Sendai)

    Amazon changed their minds, my sister saw it a week or two ago on the US website. I think the backlash from Australian buyers was way more than they expected... So now - as I understand it - Australians can buy from overseas Amazon again, and a good thing too. PS - Damn, I saw the post above that says we can buy but they won't ship? I must look into this

    140. For telling is so early that we can look forward to 2019-20... lots of happy anticipation to on on with.

    I shouldn't be surprised if at least one of any new programs is by a Japanese composer. He's has said he would like more skaters to look to their own country's music, especially Asian countries, than always the dominant European heritage. That doesn't mean he will always go that way but this year, because of the tribute, he had to use European music. Next year...

    I'll wait and see - remember the reaction both here and elsewhere when he announced Otonal/Origin? And now they are both (even though the latter has still to be perfected) dearly loved... We can trust him to give us something brilliant and beautiful.

    I just think how dauntless is he? Every year the health and fitness gods find some way to smack him down, no one could blame him for going enough is enough, but no, he's determined that nothing is going to stop him until he chooses to go. Makes me feel sheepish every time I get a little sorry for myself...

    Obviously we don't know - Yuzu definitely thinks for himself and startles us all on a regular basis - but he was clearly upset about the injury meaning he couldn't skate a perfect Origin in Russia, it was his tribute to Plushy and to the country and fans in Russia that he cares about. So I don't think it's the same as letting LGC go. If he does Origin as well as we all hope at Worlds then I can see him letting it go and getting a new one to house the 4A. If it isn't up to his standards... I can see him keeping and adapting it for 2019-20 so he can do it justice in his own mind. But that could be wishful thinking from me (I don't want to let it go!) (PS - I don't see how he can better Origin's costume, but I said that about Seimei/Swanyu/H&L/the PPOS..... so I'll wait and see)

    We probably shouldn't keep it up, no... but while part of me disapproves if their privacy was breached, another part can't help being rejoicing at just a glimpse because of how free and beautiful and yes, joyous, Yuzu looks to be skating like that. Conflicted is hardly the word (and I can't pretend I haven't watched it several times). PS - now it's out and has been spread, I hope Yuzu and Javi will be okay with it and realise the fans just want to know they are both doing well.

    Even though he is smaller, he does draw the eyes even when there is a crowd on the rink, and in practices, everyone dressed in plain practice gear, he still dominates...

    ... and name me another 16 year old who could have thought that fast on the fly - and done it! And still kept the program's artistry. Maybe Plushenko, but I don't think anyone else could have.

    They all look so happy, and Yuzu looks unshadowed and healthy... Planet Hanyu is in full sunshine today.

    There were rumours that when Helsinki agreed to take the competition on short notice, they asked for or were offered the two Olympic champs Yuzu and Alina - Yuzu may also have asked for it, he certainly wouldn't mind as it's a lucky venue for him. Russia I have also heard he specifically requested. I think the first and second seed do have dibs on actual choices, and Shoma probably wanted NHK...
