Welcome! As said, Yuzu has mentioned it several times but one we all love was his last year's (?) blog posts as part of a commercial endorsement. As fans all knew he doesn't have any social media himself, the anticipation of Yuzu's Deep and Meaningful (and Hopefully Lengthy) Words was huge, in Japan and all over the world... and his breathtaking admission in his first post.... "I like cats." Notwithstanding, it got more replies and reposts than anything any other skater spent far more time and virual ink coming up with

Wasn't he going to start ice dance with a new partner this year? The lack of rinks is really going to hurt anyone moving into something new...

But which is prettier? The cake or the Yuzu?

I've clearly watched/absorbed too many weir ads on ice show streams... this looked way less weird than I suspect it would have even a year ago But we should keep it as another piece of evidence that anyone carping at Yuzu's or Shoma's costumes are just not allowing for cultural differences so there .

I couldn't help laughing at how hugely different they were, no one would guess they were all the same young man.... I also tried a few women, and other people I'm a fan of. Those who turned out not-a-disaster pretty much always looked the same, even (and yes, I succumbed) me...

He's going to make a great coach if that is where his heart leads him... and it was such fun watching the three of them working on it. Yuzu's hydro is a thing of utter beauty, there's a reason why so many Olympic reports showed pictures and clips of it.

This was something I thought of when I saw a picture of Yuzu with Alena Kostornia, who has a very pretty but slightly heavy face and was given an almost matronly makeup and hairdo... she is 15 and looked as old if not older than him!!! Reminds me of what I read about both Gogolev and Nam Nguyen leaving TCC, that it was parents who thought their kid was not getting the attention they needed. Neither did Brian before Yuna. I mean, I suspect all of the 3A will be surpassed before Beijing, but it was really not a surprise that the Sambo rink got too small for the three of them as we jit half-way through the quad. Yuzu and Javi were a special case, rivals sharing a coach almost never works out in the end.

While it's a massive gamble for Trusova, it occurs to me that the timing... does echo our own hero in 2012. Half way through that quad, two years before Sochi, he switched coaches and reaction was dismay, doom and gloom. It's now 2020, two years before Beijing. Of course the cases are very different in other ways - Yuzu was the baby in his field, Namami was nothing like as Big A Name Coach as Eteri - but fora full year, everyone was predicting he was washed up nefore he started. I am NOT a fan of Trusova, she's one of the three skaters I actively dislike on the ice, but I can't believe anyone really thought that, with limited gold on offer and only one chance looming for OGM, the 3A wouldn't crack as one pulled ahead...

The Russian Tutberidze fans will go nuts if one or more leave... FS is gonna need a LOT of popcorn On the other hand, this will certainly take the heat off Evgenia, if she is sensible and lays low now.
