  1. Good point. Other than the pandemic, geopolitical relationship between the US and China is not exactly the best right now, and noone wants to see that scenario when an athlete, coach or staff is caught or interrogated for suspicion of espionage. It might sound far-fetched but it has already happened with academia so who knows?
  2. back counter - 4A - spread eagle, twizzle - 3A - twizzle, layback ina bauer - 4Lz3Lo - change of edge into flying sit spin will come thru then
  3. Did Yuzu ever mention anything about new EX(s)? He said he would get two new competitive programs, yes? (One is confirmed now). I do hope he will get to skate to one of his favorites rock bands and blow the roof off any arena he will be in
  4. Never, but why not
  5. I still have no ideas what that's supposed to mean If, say, a skater can enter the GPF based on criteria other than the GPs then why bother organizing the GPs in the first place? And, if the goal is only to test out for Beijing, just hold 4CC in Beijing instead (but then European skaters can't be there, so heh) I swear, the ISU....
  6. Something composed by Kanno Yoko for Hanyu Yuzuru, arranged for orchestra by Kajiura Yuki and performed by Kiyozuka Shinya, ToshI and Japan Philharmonic Orchestra
  7. Brian Orser, Brian Boitano and Katarina Witt did Carmen on Ice together and they even got an Emmy with it
  8. A bunch of events scheduled for 2021 got cancelled but not certain events for 2020. Make it make sense
  9. She could be Romeo and I would still buy it (or a reversed role Juliet, but never traditional Juliet) Her take is interesting tho
  10. Maybe the ISU will know? I mean, can they just cancel the GP series now? Already, the prospects for at least 2 GPs are not looking so bright. They can consider virtual comps, but we have already seen that the qualities of the videos submitted can be wonky and scores don't make sense anyway.
  11. Ah okay, I saw some translation that says Stephane will guide her thru the GP (nothing is said beyond that). Seems like old news then, how do I delete it?
  12. I like Philip Glass's music, but the first part (Metamorphosis?) is Satton's and Satton's alone. PS: I watched his Rocketman exhibition for JO 2020 without the music just the other day and the whole time, all the way until he hit the ChSq, I thought he was performing his Phillip Glass' selections instead.
  13. So maybe choosing Stephane as a coach is temporary?
  14. I mentioned the +4 because you said she is capped at +2/+3. The Challenger in the Netherlands was definitely wrong tho. Anyway, I stand by my opinion that on their own, most of her scores (including GOEs, PCSs) are acceptable. (Most, not all, because some are downright not OK at all)
  15. Take ISU page with a grain of salt. They butchered names and messed up info before.
  16. Well if his spins are his choices then I would like to see better choices. I should have noted that the slow spin I wanted to highlight was in the FP because it failed spectacularly at accentuating the ebbs and flows of the music. Across both the SP and FP in general, his spins were just mediocre. BTW, I notice that he put an extra arm movement in his final spin for the FP (looks like Yuzu's move in his Haru yo koi), which is nice.
  17. She does get +4 too. The only recent competition where I thought she should have gotten decisively higher GOEs was the challenger in the Netherlands. Save for the fall in the combo in the SP, the qualities in all her elements were quite good. The series of 0s for her Lz in the SP were in particular very weird. I wonder if they saw something we didn't see or if the judges there were really that determined to give her low scores.
  18. I agree with you about her PCS. As for her GOEs, I actually think those are fine most of the time. The problem is not that she is lowballed but some of her competitors are often overscored.
  19. I agree with you about her solid techniques. I won't say whether it is a good or bad thing that she has Stephane as her coach. Time will tell, so we will see. As for upgrading her jump layout, I think she can try to backload 3Lz combo (3Lz3T) in the SP and 3A combos in the FP. That, combined with her consistent PCS (if anything, I don't think she has ever been underscored in this department), should be a good strategy.
  20. Eh, I just watched his SP and FP for the second challenge. Here goes - I think he has improved in some aspects (he still looks slow on the ice, which bothers me). - Some tragic spins right there (why does he spin slowly when the music is fast and building up ? It doesn't match the music at all ) - For the FP, with his 3Lo3T in the second half in the first challenge and 3Lo as the second jump in the second challenge, I think he is planning to bring the 4Lo back. He might go for sth like 4F3T, 4Lo, 4Lz, 4S, 4T-Eu-3F, 4T3T, 3A in the latter half of this season and even Beijing. - Anyway, so I saw an analysis of the steps and turns in his FP. And boy, his TRs are really mostly just mohawks and crossovers (sth never changes, I guess).
  21. Welp! ver 2. That's not a very uplifting number 🙃 If it is because of better tracing, testing and recording, then yay! If not, well,...
  22. Finger crossed! But I do wonder if the other GPs will still carry on if IDF is cancelled? There may not be GPF anyway.
