I think they might be? Kevin Aymoz also put his hands down in his 2018/19 SP (For some reasons I can't post the screenshot here)
-
I believe he does. Me think it's super cute and he should speak like that more often
-
There seem to be a lot of cartwheeling, neck stretching (in such a way that spells Yuzu's Chopin Ballade to me, I don't know why) and Origin-ish posing (and something very Breakfast in Bangdad) in that teaser... Let's wait to see what the program will look like in its full form. PS: Those movements combined with her serious gaze can be a good combo. I wouldn't call that intense tho (blame Yuzu for defining intensity ) PPS: That's really good PR right there.

Yup! I love his Sing, sing, sing too! Brian has such a presence on the ice. He gives me the feeling that he is much taller than he actually is

I agree that the guideline generally sounds good. Most of my concerns regarding the GP series are the same as yours: 1. The award ceremony "on ice or off ice, shall respect the physical distancing of 1,5 meters" BUT "Medals are presented on a plate by the ISU Representative or other delegate". It can be awkward/hilarious for skaters to try to get to the plate from the podium and the ISU representatives to give said plate to the skaters 2. The score WILL be a scorching hot mess, like you said. This honestly might be the year for everyone and their mother with a strong fed backup to break all sort of records. Hell, when would be a better time to do that? (In retrospect, this might also be the year for feds to compete with each other to show who is the boss before Beijing). They can try to go back to the 6.0 scoring system just for this GP tho, so no COP scores and no world standings are counted. 3. How are they going to balance out the allotment of assignment? Some GP will have more than enough skaters in all disciplines, and some will not. Are they going to let those who don't even qualify for GPs participate just so they can meet the quotas? Are they going to cancel the disciplines for the GP that do not have enough skaters altogether, or are they going to basically let everyone advance to the Final?

I can’t really say for pairs’ but IMO the ladies’ is more often than not a hot mess (both the real judging and the fan wars on said judging). Both disciplines can still be fun to watch tho

I believe she does. I guess We will see and know in comps if she puts it out there
-
I don't doubt that she has confidence. The footage can be her way of saying "Hey, this is what I'm working on." My point remains that if she gets it very stable and fully rotated, go for it because it will be good for her points-wise. If it is more likely to be URed, may be opt for other options. Not only do we have the UR but we also have the weird "Q" thing now. It's not worth risking it if it can't be done properly
-
I agree that her combos more often than not look nice. However, I am dreaded of the controversies that come with selective UR calls. I am with Paskud that it is better not to bring it if it is not competition ready. She can try out other stuff and still gain a lot of +GOEs and points. PS: At least she hasn’t had phantom calls yet, unlike certain unfortunate skaters
-
Yeah, the -3Lo combo. So, color me confused, but I have heard two opposite opinions about her -3Lo combo: One is that it is underrotated and the other is it is fully rotated I will really need a crash course on spotting UR PS: I tried and even failed even at cutting the frames. I am really, really hopeless.

2020/2021 Season Program Announcements
Melodie replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
I’m sure it’s by Josh Groban -
Gracias, I will try that. Do you think she should bring the loop combo to competition? She must have enough confidence in it I think. PS: I just realized that she does bring loop combos to comps, just not as two-jump jumping passes or the second jump of three-jump jumping passes.
-
How do you spot UR? I'm genuinely curious because I can only spot prerotation on a Flip or Lutz
-
New videos everyday until the 25th?
-
Crumbs? PS: The white wall is back at full force. I reckon that this means we all rise at dawn, yes?
-
You know, I agree with you. Case in point, his Believe way back in 2015
-
Me neither. But things like better edge work, control of body movement, interpretation of music, etc., even if he has all of these now, they probably won’t translate into higher score. That is what I meant when I bring in H&L from 4CC.
-
It’s interesting how even though he is getting better, his scores don’t necessarily reflect that, especially after the 15/16 season PS: Watching him perform H&L at 4CC, you can tell how much better it has become compared to 3 years ago, but I don’t think the score would show that too even if he brings H&L back to competition. PPS: I will never not be salty that his Chopin at PyeongChang or 4CC this year didn’t break the WR in ACI. Both are that much better.

Windmill is a good way to describe that twisting thing. Anna’s arms do not look as wild as Kamila’s IMO. That they both have long limbs doesn’t help, aesthetically speaking. As for Evgenia, I agree with you. I’m glad she has improved now.
-
During her Eteri's days? Her -3T combo looks better now tho. For Valieva's -3T, I think it looks labored because of the way she twists her back and pushes her arms like a pendulum. Some young kids also do the same thing. Actually, I think Alena does that pushing thing with her arms too, but nowhere as weird as Kamila. I don't know if it is good or bad technique to get combo but it looks unnatural.

As f***

I just rewatched his SP at Nationals in 2013. His 3Lz there was HUGE, like it should easily be almost twice the size of the 3T Did he train the 4Lz already in 2013? Because I swear that thing has so much extra room, like more than one revolution can fit into it PS: That is not to mention his 3A but holy hell, his 3Lz
-
Regarding the stretcher, I think in a talkshow (was it Kenji's room in 2015?), Yuzu said that he saw it and he thought no way in hell would he get on that thing , so he just walked out like the mad man that he was and is LOL. The whole chat is actually hilarious (while still kind of terrifying), so there, something light to think and talk about now

I agree with you. On my side, I think senior GPs should be cancelled too, based on the information and data I have gathered and assured of. As for next year (AKA the second half of the season), let's see how it goes. My approach to the current situation is to look at it on a weekly and monthly basis. No feeling, just facts.
