Figure skaters in the movie of the IOC ceremony Speaking of Nobu, he recently said that he has rented a warehouse and made it into a gym for himself and his student. He even imported a turntable directly from coach Alexei Mishin. I guess he was testing this equipment for his gym when he posted this on twitter. You can see the photos of his gym here.

Stephane was also there to celebrate the completion of the new IOC headquaters

Sorry for interrupting again... Sendai Iroha (mini program produced and aired by Sendai Hoso) featuring Ice Rink Sendai: The footage was probably filmed on April 1st, on which Takeshi Honda gave a special skating lesson to children. You can find Nanami Sensei helping Takeshi. They are also promoting FaOI Sendai and Javi's skating lesson in the second half.

Thank you for sharing the translation! This is one of the very first Yuzu interviews done by non-figure-skating magazines. At that time, we knew that he was going to TCC but did not have much chance to hear about how he made the decision and how he felt about leaving Sendai and Nanami sensei, so this article and his smile attached to it lightened our anxiety a bit. The original article is titled "恩返しの旅は続く", published in Sports Graphic Number Vol. 803 on May 10th, 2012. https://number.bunshun.jp/articles/-/223662 You can find the first half of it here.

sweetwater replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
According to his Instagram post, Mitsuki Sumoto has finished making his new SP with Nanami Abe. Although he hasn't revealed the music, he said the program turned out really nice and fun to skate. As to the FS, he will keep Mi Mancherai. -

See update on May 15th here. Some broadcasters have announced that they are going to air FaOI this year: -FaOI Makuhari Will be aired by BS Asahi on May 27th, from 21:00 (JST) source -FaOI Sendai Will be aired by Sendai Hoso (the Sendai-based TV station which always makes a beautiful Yuzu poster to promote Worlds and JNats) on July 14th, from 19:00 source -FaOI Kobe Will also be aired by BS Asahi. They will announce the date and time later. source -FaOI Toyama No announcement yet but Toyama TV aired FaOI Toyama in 2014 and they are one of the organizers this year. I think it is possible that they will air the show this year as well. They aired the news of Yuzu joining the show yesterday.

According to the article, Narumi has been playing hockey since last spring and has already taken part in competitions. She said she had been interested in the sport since when she started skating at the age of 3. She loves the speed, playing with teammates, the way players strategically change their playing style according to their opponent. Although she's a hockey player now, she worked for Fuji as a commentator for pairs' event at Worlds Saitama. She is a very brilliant person with many talents so I think we still have a chance of seeing her getting involved with figure skating in the future. Former singles skater Miyu Nakashio, on the other hand, is joining Cirque du Soleil this summer. Wishing her good luck!

IIRC, he has never said that he had landed the jump cleanly, although there have been some people who said or implied that they witnessed or heard about him practicing it. There are other articles reporting his comments with more details and I guess they might have already been translated and shared in the thread made by yuzuangel, but in Japanese, he said he wants to master the jump, not just to land it. He wants to make it one of his reliable weapons, or reliable friends like 3A, 4T, etc. Just to land it is no longer his dream, but his goal, and now to execute it beautifully in a competition for the first time in history is his dream. ETA: @ralucutzagy has already shared one of the other articles above. Should have read this thread more carefully

Poll: Yuzu's new ultra low Hydroblade - Did he kiss the ice?
sweetwater replied to Danibellerika's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
After he finishes this spin, the phantom puts his mask back on and goes into the final spin. Look carefully at his mouth before he hides his face with his hand. -
Actually, the monument unveiling is going to be held on April 29th, in which Yuzu won't participate. However, The City of Sendai will release its design on 20th with Yuzu, and the event will be live streamed. Source I think we will hear more about his condition and plans for next season later, but anyway hope he will be able to take time and heal and get better soon.

Team we're fewer but still good!
sweetwater replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
Interview with Michal Brezina presented by Ice Time Podcast run by Jack Gallagher of Japan Times and Ayano, co-host of the show and interpreter. He is talking about his comeback in this season, how he trains with Rafael, impression on Worlds 2019, etc. It was interesting to hear how he feels about competing with someone like Yuzu, how he thinks about program music. (he is also talking about how his Who Wants to Live Forever SP was created) -

Poll: Yuzu's new ultra low Hydroblade - Did he kiss the ice?
sweetwater replied to Danibellerika's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
I thought that it would hurt his lips because I remember once he said that hydroblading hurts his palms as the surface of the ice is quite rough. But I think he actually did here, like when he actually said "bye-bye" to Christine while he was skating POTO for the last time. -
I guess so. TBS also is one of the co-organizers of Stars on Ice Japan, so they may be doing this to promote the show since Javi is one of the casts.
-
It seems that Javi will commentate on Yuzu's performance/performances at Worlds in a sports program called "S1" which will be aired by TBS on 24/3/2019 0:30-0:58, JST.

Don't know when he arrives/arrived in Japan on what plane but those who are flying in/to/from Japan by ANA may see this message from Yuzu while they are on the plane. Rough translation: "Wish "from now on" after overcoming hardships brings much happiness than "until now" did."
-
Nice photo. Seems like a photo taken during ACI this season. I recognize Tracy's clothes. Hopefully, we'll see Yuzu soon in an official practice in a competition like this for the first time in a while...

Hi. It's been a while since the last time I posted in this thread. I've been busy and a bit away from FS and this forum. Last week, on my way back to this planet I made a brief stop at Sendai and found this in a kiosk in Sendai station called NewDays. These are "Kaburimono Panda-san" cosplaying local specialties in various places in Japan, and there was "figure skating panda" among Sendai Pandas which apparently is Otonal Panda. These pandas are packed in a small envelope with a fortune slip, and these fortune slips include quite funny ones such as "Panda luck" and "Cat luck" which says you can make your wishes come true by meowing sweetly. Don't know if Yuzu knows about this panda, or how it was included in this series, but the shape of the collar represents the costume pretty well and it made me miss Otonal soooo much. If you visit Sendai anytime soon, please take a look at this Otonal panda on the package.
