  1. Now I’m hungry! I could eat everything on that tray. I don’t know where he went to eat, but I would be a frequent and happy customer. Thank you for posting this oldie but goodie.
  2. Challenge accepted! lol I will be attending my first live skating event next year! In fact, I think it might be the first time seeing a live professionally organized sporting event EVER. Also, I admire Mr. Hanyu's discipline...sometimes I don't want to get off the couch and I think, "If Yuzu can skate on an injured ankle, surely I can go put clothes in the washer." Yuzu...helping to get housework done all over the world. LOL
  3. It’s really wonderful to read all your stories. Thanks for sharing!
  4. I’m really glad to hear the show was a success!
  5. That’s really a nice story to tell us. I am glad your mom appreciated his skating, and maybe she will start to follow the sport again!
  6. No kidding...it’s almost a disconnect!
  7. That's very useful. What a thoughtful item...the ROI team did well!
  8. That was a lot of work, thank you Sailor!
  9. My Japanese is very (very very very) weak but I am wondering if the term was "shikkari shite", which can mean something like "keep going, keep it up," as well as "pull yourself together." (Maybe I'm using the term wrong, but when my relatives are moping about I tell them "shikkari shite!")
  10. I looked at the poster and thought, "Gee Javi, you sure have changed." LOL ROI seems to be coming along nicely. I do think that having La Reina Yuna appear adds even more cachet to the shows.
  11. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo0ntStAeVJ/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=pw9cs7yzbj65 I can’t embed, but this is a makeup lesson to get eyes like Yuzuru.
  12. I also use the files when travelling; I find the open edges are convenient when I need to find or store papers in a hurry.
  13. Plus the help of Ajinomoto and Mother Hanyu's kitchen. I need Ajinomoto and a Mother Hanyu.
  14. Are you looking at all event ticket prices? Single tickets are $75-85/men’s FS, not including those mysterious “fees” that get tacked on. So a single ticket is maybe $110?
  15. So.....really....what do you all think the chances are that Mr. Hanyu will go to Four Continents? Asking for a friend
  16. All that drama, and there's Javi in the background waving in the breeze.....lol
  17. I was always told くそ meant "sh*t", but does it mean something else as well? I think it's funny that if you draw out and emphasize the そ (ku-sooooooooooooooooooooo), then it reminds me of when people draw out "shi*t" and it sounds like "sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttt") . I will stop now.
  18. Can i be a lazy person and ask someone to post the White Legend twizzles which make bunnies fall flat on their faces?
  19. I find this interesting...what makes the Japanese aunties so terrifying to the (presumably) younger, taller, stronger, faster Chinese fans? Are they the legendary and much feared "obatarian"? (A blend of the Japanese word for "aunt" [oba] and "battalion" ). These are the ladies who will elbow you to get to a seat on the subway. They will push forward to get the lucky rice cakes thrown out at festivals. They look sweet but when they decide to do something, you Get.Out.Of.Their. Way. (Excuse me if this word has been explained before. I just find it so funny. It may be out of fashion these days.)
  20. I think that with any people, you have those individuals who GO HARD with their interests and just lose their minds. I don’t know how it is now, but having a hobby used to be a big deal in Japan, almost like a requirement it seemed. So FS is probably some people’s hobby and maybe they lose their minds (and manners) when they finally see their obsession. Not making any excuses for bad behavior, in fact it’s a little scary when it seems like practical reality takes a back seat to fantasy. He is right to be cautious. Geeze how how is Yuzu going to live back in Japan. It’s going to take a good many years for the mania to die down. Stay safe amazing/normal boy young man. Oh, and personally I found that Japanese pushing in the train/subway is usually done without any sort of malice, it’s just what you have to do. Now, where I live, if someone gets close or pushes you, prepare to fight!
  21. Undoubtedly his parents and family are proud of him but maybe also a bit fearful for him -they probably watched HIM like a hawk. Those stalker stories are unnerving. No wonder celebrities or sports figures go undercover sometimes.
  22. *Visions of him walking around his flat with a sheet mask on* I would suspect, though, that staying out of the sun and being in a moist climate has made a HUGE difference in terms of texture and tone. I live in a dry, sunny climate and the damage is undeniable. Folks, wear your sunscreen and MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE, MOISTURIZE. " Hanyu-ize" your skin!!!! You will thank yourself later.
  23. What’s this about the police? Was there a fight about who had the biggest Pooh?
