  1. Aw man, I was really keen for an early assignment release sometime this week! I guess we'll have to wait some more
  2. Omg is that Yuzu in the centre with his arms up in the air? It's so great seeing him with other skaters! (especially Javi )
  3. Sounds about right! I just checked Satomi Ito's website and it says her costumes generally start at 200000 yen which would be around the $1800USD+ range.
  4. It's usually Satomi Ito, a Japanese designer. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think she also designs costumes for other skaters in Team Japan, like Shouma. Edit: just checked her portfolio to confirm and yes, she designs costumes for Marin, Shouma and Rika among others
  5. Wow really? That's pretty awesome! I'm sure there's specific flavours that are only sold in Australia- maybe we could send those? We could even put in a little guide on how to do a Tim Tam slam
  6. This is an excellent idea! I'm sure @SparkleSalad and the other Aussies among us would be happy to pitch in some Tim Tams and maybe even some Vegemite
  7. OT but I'm still on the lookout for where that first pic of Yuzu and Nanami came from... Anyone who can help me out will be handsomely rewarded with a Pooh shower Also OT, but I've been trying to collate all the songs Yuzu has mentioned over the years. Here's what I have so far. I would massively appreciate any other additions as I've definitely missed some: ONE OK ROCK: 完全感覚Dreamer [Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer], キミシダイ列車 [Kimi Shidai Ressha] Mrs Green Apple: StaRt SEKAI NO OWARI: yume back number: fish, スーパースターになったら [Superstar ni Nattara] The Sketchbook: Colors, 覚醒 [Kakusei] BUMP OF CHICKEN: Stage of the ground, super nova, zero Hi-Fi CAMP: 夢の向こうへ [Yume no Mukou e], R, Pandalion: 夢に描くキセキ [Yume ni Kaku Kiseki] Mao Abe: 戦いは終わらない [Tatakai wa Owaranai]
  8. Noooo....now I've conjured up a mental image of Yuzu in hakama doing Japanese archery and it's deadly
  9. Yuzu looks good in every photo but he looks especially good in this one. Like a prince going to battle. Powerful, noble and elegant
  10. It's just a short piece naming the Waseda students who competed and won medals at the Olympics/Paralympics. Hanyu Yuzuru (Studying in the School of Human Sciences' Long Distance Program; ANA affiliate) won the gold medal in the men's figure skating event (Ganggeung Arena) at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics on Feburary 17. As a result, he has now gained two consecutive gold medals following the Sochi Winter Olympics.
  11. Thanks for the advice guys! I'll see how I go next time I'm at the rink my swizzles could definitely be much better so maybe I need to work on those first.
  12. Another super noob question guys. Any tips for doing forward slaloms? I just can't maintain any level of momentum I can do 2-3 sweeps in succession but that's only if I build up speed beforehand and I'm pretty sure you're meant to be able to do them from a standstill. I think I'm not pushing off my edges in the right way And I've come to the conclusion that I definitely need a coach soon My group lesson this week was 13 little girls and me so the whole thing was just us swizzling and one foot gliding up and down the rink without running into one another. There's an adult skater who cools down during my group lesson practice so I'm thinking of asking her about her coach.
  13. I'm not *massively* suprised because he's been talking about how grateful he is for all the support he's received over the last few months and ice shows are the best way for skaters to convey those feelings...also is he going to Shizuoka because the final Shizuoka show actually lines up with my winter holiday
  14. Oh darn! I was hoping it would be available for everyone to watch but I guess not Also thanks for the tip! It worked for me!
  15. Actually it is on YouTube! On the 7Olympics YouTube channel! I think the video is called 'Men Short Program Highlights' or something like that. It's a compilation of performances from the men's SP but it has Yuzu's full SP in it. I'll link it below in a second Yuzu is at 16:54! https://youtu.be/RDRrfqtqjkc
  16. I've always wondered if Yuzu keeps a collection of all his magazine appearances and books. The fact that he follows pretty much all the media coverage on him makes me think that it's very likely
  17. Kinda OT but my brother is also the type who never gains weight and he's obsessed with juice as well lol. He tends to feel sick easily when eating food so I think juice is easier to stomach? Can't relate because I love food too much
  18. I get the sense that Yuzu is more interested in putting out original performances at this point in his career. He did POTO even though everyone around him advised against it, so I think it's a matter of whether he feels satisfied with his first rendition. And I think POTO was just one of those things that hes always wanted to do at least once, like the 4A. I just get the vibe that he's looking forward now: new jumps and new programs.
  19. Guess what came in the mail today? I definitely spent more than a regular person would be willing to pay for a pair of acrylic gloves but no regrets Hopefully I can attract fanyus at the rink with these
  20. Yuzu ranked first in a poll for 'Atheletes you like' followed by Kei Nishikori So sorry to hear about your illness! What a terrible thing to go through. Hope you get better soon. I'm sure Yuzu would be over the moon to see how he has helped people through tough times. Fortunately, this off season will be full of Yuzu content. We're all wishing you a speedy recovery!
  21. Happy anniversary to the Planet! Today I'm grateful to Yuzu and the Planet for existing, and I'm also super grateful to all the lovely satellites that make the Planet such a fun place It's because of all of you that I can come back to the Planet each day and leave with a smile on my face. Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!
  22. I swear, all these stills from the parade are going to be the death of me
  23. I actually don't mind the Yuzu spam, even if they're just doing it for likes and retweets. There's always the off chance that he might gain some new fans and exposure through the Olympic Channel's twitter so I'm all for it
