  1. I'll cry too. After all the Chopin I am so ready for something fun. Or weird. I'd love for him to do Bowie too! Let's just send that into the universe so it can be true. I'd rather die than cry. :D
  2. I want a new rock SP with more sin.
  3. I dreamt that Yuzu brought back LGC. @axelnojutsu I blame you.
  4. I don't remember the source now, this is just one of those random bits of information that got stuck in my head. But Yuzu's picking technique looks light and perfect, but he puts an incredible amount of force into it. There was some rink where he performed for a show or competition or practice or... or something (I did say I didn't remember the source) where he picked so hard (on the toe-loop I think) that it damaged the actual rink itself. They had to fix it afterwards.
  5. I think we might be underestimating just how much a 4A would push physics, technique and his body because we've got a little used to the idea of expecting it after he said it. Realistically, a 4A this season... If the season really goes according to plan, he gets back to and stays in top condition, and his other quads stabilise well, then maybe by Worlds 2019.
  6. *hoards all the antacids and aspirin frantically* Please, I'd rather die than live like that, my head would explode and my stomach would corrode.
  7. I see. So "starting GOE for the evaluation cannot be higher than +2" refers to the GOE before the fall itself is taken into account, not GOE before anything about the jump is taken into account. A two-stage process, like @Pamigena put it. My head hurts a little bit still, but I get it now. Thank you! ETA: I think I need antacids for this season.
  8. But none of that makes sense, the base value has 'base' in it. So if a jump with a fall has an actual BV of BV+20%, what does a landed jump have? My head. It hurts.
  9. If Yuzu ever joins a social media thing and posts replies, imagine the explosion.
  10. What is 'starting GOE for the evaluation'? Isn't that supposed to be, you know, 0? And then you add or subtract depending on what features there are, or what errors there are? How can starting GOE for evaluation for anything be +2?
  11. You can bring it back out after we see the whole thing.
  12. This can't be idea! And I was just thinking, what a smart girl for getting flowers and posting them on Insta, she can't be trashed for that now at least. But what now?!
  13. The judges looked over at Yuzu and was like, 'This boy! He be wildin'! Let's be wildin' too! You get a +4, you get a +5, everybody gets a candy!' I hope it's not like this for international competitions. Hope, it springs eternal.
  14. Stop this radical nonsense. What next, a revolution? The only kind of that around here will be in jumps and they will be cheated because you cannot look at takeoff in slow motion, thank you very much! [/sarcasm]
  15. Patrick pop is pretty iconic, imo. Maybe we should wait till an international competition before we have kittens though.
  16. Well I suppose this answers our question about whether pops are serious errors. Apparently not. Still, it was a nice axel.
  17. The difference in how individual judges scored an element on GOE is the really wild bit. It's almost as if having actual clear rules for bullets instead of freewheeling guidelines might have been wise.
  18. We have kinda bad captured from TV footage of the beginning of Alina's SP.
  19. Ikr? His 3A looks nice enough, his quads look like they're a bit pre-rotated.
  20. Conrad Orzel got an e on his Flip.
  21. Yeah, he seems to have a lip problem. I wonder how his 4F is going!
  22. He looked a bit taller to me. When they were waiting for the scores, he must still have been in his boots of course, but he was definitely taller than before. His triples look good despite that so fingers crossed for the kid!
  23. He didn't telegraph it nearly as much as a lot of seniors do. It was a light, effortless looking jump. Still not a +4 or +5 for me but a +3. His combo got a couple of +4s too. His solo jump is from nice, clear steps, but he got a ! so got hit on GOE. Not negative, but low.
  24. A barely any setup awesome ice coverage, intricate steps leading into jump was the kind I thought would get it, too. Kinda thought Stephen's 3A was better than that.
