  1. Just chiming in to agree, the Japan-Belgium game was really good in a good football and spirits all around kind of way, even if Japan lost. The best game of this tournament so far for me, too. And much more like Yuzu - even when there were competitors with superior BV (Belgium far out-gunned Japan there) and he was disadvantaged (because of his injury), he did what he could do beautifully, fought till the very end, and never compromised more than he absolutely had to. He gave it everything. Comparing Yuzu-s PC tactics to the game against Poland is not apt. He attacked. Still, it's no big deal, our boy's got two Olympic gold medals. Silly comments vs two Olys golds with magnificent performances, hmmm....
  2. .... Might as well hold the ice dance part of Worlds there, at this rate. Save the skaters jet lag.
  3. .... Why does that sound oddly realistic in my imaginary world... ETA: But thank you for the translation, I appreciate the context, no matter how strange!
  4. I'd watch that movie. I'd be in the cinema so fast.
  5. I second this. Why are a bunch of guys having a fight and screaming Yuzu's name?
  6. I am very confused.
  7. Nobu come back!! Can somebody fix his competition head problems, because he has the 4T, Yuzu said he's landed 4Lz, he has a 3A that's easily still top three in the world... I want him to come back and bring the Super Mario programme with him.
  8. What I'm wondering is... If Dai has already said he's looking at one year, would JSF be silly enough to do what they do with the ladies? They do need to have an eye on the future and do the politics mumbo jumbo to get their younger skaters' PCS up. If they decide to ignore somebody like Kazuki and put their weight behind Dai for one season only, then what happens next season? Japan's spots will be in danger because the younger skaters haven't had the fed backing to get the PCS to place well! As long as JSF doesn't politick for Dai at the cost of somebody like Kazuki, or even Keiji, it should be fine. But I look at my poor Mai and my poor Wakaba and my poor Rika with her one GP and, well....
  9. *praying* *also begging* *please please please*
  10. The top of his head, he looks like he couldn't get the bed head under enough control, OMG everything about him is so cute and fluffy and he looks so incredible, I think stanning him should come with a warning.
  11. Oh... Well, I guess he's coming out of retirement domestically, not internationally.
  12. 32 Not too old if he's recovered from that injury completely.
  13. He can't possibly have taken it this far without sorting out details with JSF. So the comeback rule will have been considered, at least. We'll find out! Wow, what a summer. Is this prepping us for a wild season or is it getting the drama out of the way for a sane season?
  14. I suppose any of the TBD slots that are not host slots could be given to him. Or any withdrawals. I dunno how it works practically, if he wanted to compete this season, he should have let ISU know before the announcement, right? I don't know what this does to JSF politicking, really, but nobody can honestly predict what JSF will do to its skaters.
  15. I knew I'd read the comeback rule recently. From Alice's Tumblr (the-real-xmonster):
  16. I dunno how Nationals will work but if you retire in the top ten or something, don't you get two guaranteed GP spots for one comeback year? Wasn't there something like that?
  17. Poor Nobu, I can't imagine the amount of needling and pushing he must have endured over the last few weeks. I'm sure there were people who knew among the skaters.
  18. Wow, this is the wildest off season ever. I say that in my vast experience of having experienced two. But I still think I may be right.
  19. I thought so, too. I hope somebody's checking his temperature and sitting on him if he mentions quads. I know, I know, he's an adult and can take care of himself and all that and so forth but take his temperature and sit on him if he has a fever, dammit!
  20. So pretty! They're all so pretty! I'm so glad Yuzu has such talented fans who will make him such amazing things!
  21. Yes! I understood how beautiful and poignant and intimate Requiem is and it has moved me to tears but I've never had this 'just can't anymore haaaalp' feeling. I haven't felt this way even with H&L and I nearly died over it a million times. This is just... I can't. I just can't. It's squeezing my heart and filling it at the same time and I don't how to exist through it.
  22. I think HYK is just too much for me to take. I just can't. I dunno why it's got me all tangled up in myself but I just can't. I'm going to die from skating galas this season. I am glad to present to the world a new cause of death.
  23. It's too much! Too much, I say!
  24. I feel personally attacked.
  25. Yeah, she's going to place lower than she really should if she's clean (and rotates) and if last season had gone well she would probably be a podium contender this season, but it didn't. Ideally that shouldn't matter and everybody should be scored according their skate on that day and that would give Marin a decent shot at podium, but... I think she'd have trouble at any of the GPs, there are too many ahead of her right now. She'd struggle to overtake a clean Gabby, or even a clean Masha. Polina is kind of in the same boat.
