  1. I think the 4Lo was rotated and the 4T and the 3A in combo were borderline and could've gone either way, but I think in general the TES balanced out. I haven't seen any gifs made by people who do it well though, I've only watched it slowed down and tried to pause it on my own to see.
  2. Not to dampen things but Nathan has a higher free skate TES, doesn't he? I think his SkAm free skate TES was a point higher or something. And here's something that I'm still trying to wrap my head around, he got higher TES with fewer quads by getting higher GOEs, which is usually Yuzu's thing. I know judging was different and he didn't have URs called and Yuzu's 4Lo that wasn't actually UR was called and all that, but still... Can't quite wrap my head around it.
  3. True, I agree. I just meant that that video is probably not representative of how far he can rotate the 4A, that's all.
  4. Aww That sounds like the most chaotic time but then you went to see the Evil Overlord so I suppose it's apt that it was all chaos that came together perfectly at the last minute? I'm glad everything got sorted out in the end and you got to see him! Especially HYK, it was enough to soothe everything in my soul even watching online. It must've done much more watching it live. It is so interesting that in all these 'what might have been' situations in the US media, their guys do the absolute best they possibly could but nobody else's performance changes even a tiny bit. It's a pity because take the bias and fed nonsense away, and I truly do appreciate how Nathan paid attention to choreo in a GP where he had to give up some of his quads. Takes an awful lot of effort to separate the young man and what he does from the fed and media circus around him, though!
  5. I'm crying. I'm so glad you could go and watch him.
  6. Oh, and I think I've seen practice clip of Artur Dmitriev's 4A that's not as bad as the one in competition? I don't remember where I saw it tbh I think it was when I was stumbling through a Russian forum, no I don't understand Russian. Not rotated but not as badly UR as that one in competition. There's definitely never been a clip of him fully rotating it, it would've made it out onto English forums for sure. But he is further along on it than that competition clip shows. I think he's been working on it for years.
  7. Same, tbh. I don't trust what he announces as his plans but I do completely believe he wants to do Origin perfectly with a +GOE 4T3A. I might not trust his words, but I do trust his kuyashii.
  8. Me too. I think even if we see him try it in practice at a competition, it will depend on how well his SP goes. If he gets one of his 20-point leads on his SP, which he can if he does perfectly and hits 115, then he might feel like he can go for the 4A and still know he can win even if he messes it up? You know, this emergence of the old Yuzu we know and love ruins all previous calculations based on the unexpected 'scores do not matter, the 4A is my dream and my true goal for this season' Yuzu.
  9. Sorry to go off track but did he finally learn to whistle?!
  10. Pffft now I'm like he's not even far enough along on Origin to put his sit twizzles in and land all the jumps, let alone the 4A. At this rate the first time we see 4A will probably keep up the grand tradition of him whipping out a new jump at WTT post-gala quad-off. Did he say if he gets to 20% then he can consider putting it in, because that's just landing one in five, he only skates a total of seven competitions in a season including WTT and 4CC, right?!
  11. The last time this happened on Twitter, fans started positive hashtags that trended and pushed all the negativity out of sight. But if it's on a figure skating forum with mods/admins who aren't inclined to do anything about it, I'm not sure what we can do.
  12. That sounds absolutely wonderful. Yuzu, the miracle boy who prompts family get-togethers, too, now! Thank you for sharing (now and during over the weekend).
  13. Isn't this the one where he did 3F-3T?
  14. I seem to have missed a trick there with the spending money thing! How far does that go? I spent money to get flight ticket so I can scream my favourite pilot's name for three straight hours? I can go to a concert and scream rival band's name for the whole concert? Shame on me for not being a jerk because I spent money and bought tickets! Obviously it means I have a free pass to forget about consideration for others! Honestly, I can see how it's difficult to calm down right after you hear his scores, I mean it's a super emotional moment and I scream at my screen. It's hard to focus on whoever skates next, too, it's just too many emotions to deal with so quickly. But when the dude you say you support clearly and repeatedly asks you many times not to do it because he obviously finds it really bad, I guess fans should try to respect that.
  15. Wow, what a labour of love, that's amazing. I hope you have an amazing time! (And all of us, too. Happy Yuzu means happy fanyus.)
  16. I've enlisted help to keep me off planet when I'm supposed to be working (so I can finish everything for the week by Thursday) and I was chased off but I couldn't work and so I cooked enough for at least a couple of days and now I'm back and I'm going before that banoctopoohmpkin sees me and chases me off again.
  17. lol Every jump takes off from the toe is such a zinger from Max there. Like, what happens during the picking process until the split second when you leave the ice matters, too.
  18. I approve of your crack theories. I like them. We can have matching tinfoil hats.
  19. Noooo You must land gently, using a Nobu-like knee. No explosions!
  20. Where's time flying, I'm not ready!!
  21. I really can't say. Usually, he does better when his layout is fixed for the season. Switching jumps in and out isn't something that works all that well for him usually. Like ACI FS last year, he tried to put triples instead of quads for his first couple of jumps in his free skate and he bombed the whole thing even if the layout technically would've been much easier, something he could do without a second thought. I guess that's the drawback to having a really intricate programme where every jump has actual choreography going into it! I've no idea how he'd do if he switched Nessie in and out of his layout after he puts it in. PC changed a lot about him, he had to make a lot of compromises and sacrifices. A lot might have changed in how he approaches his skates now. ETA: The only times I can think of when he did switch his layout around has been when he couldn't execute original planned layout because of injury.
  22. His 3Lz issue is linked to both how many quads he does - therefore stamina - and maybe when he was training 4Lz but since he's a cryptid who doesn't really tell us when he started training a certain jump until much later, we can only speculate on that, I guess. Mostly though, I think he puts his 3Lz last because it's his most reliable high value regular triple, he can usually land it even if his axis is tilted because his stamina is about ready to give up. So I don't think it's his 3Lz that's the issue, it's mostly because adding more quads to his programmes is more of a physical and mental drain. If he put it where his 3F usually is, it would probably be gorgeous now, too. That he can land it even when his axis is wonky is a good indication of how reliable it usually is for him. The only real weakness I think Yuzu has is that it takes a long time for his new jumps to stabilise in competition even if he's tossing them out in practice at TCC like it's nothing. Like his 4Lz, we know that last year's media day, he did a gorgeous 4Lz-3T(rippon). But CoR practice? We were having kittens over here because he couldn't control it properly. He landed one beautifully like he probably did back in TCC every other day but the rest had such a lean! I was burning sage to banish the tilted axis. His 4Lo was perfect in itself by the time he put it in programme but he wobbled it on landing after that first time. His 4S was brilliant in practice but in competition? Not so great for a long time. When he first comboed his 4S with the 3T, we literally nicknamed it the combo of doom. So now, newer satellites can join me in freaking out even more about Nessie.
  23. I already voted, I want to keep Seimei.
  24. If I lose the Nyanyu, you lose the Welcome.
