  1. I am very confused by the decision as well, you'd think they'd want a test drive internationally, especially considering it's the Olympic year. This early feedback can be crucial. I know we'll never get a real explanation so I would really like to be a fly on that wall right now! The only thing I can think of is that they feel like they could potentially lose something by participating but I just don't see what? Huh.
  2. No gold! Yes, that sounds lovely!
  3. September 1st already in Europe so ... ton ton ton to borrow it from Yuzuru. Here we go!
  4. Oh I hope Satoko gets better soon, she's really experiencing bad luck lately!
  5. No gold, blue But we're almost there, I practically cannot believe it!
  6. Ah! Typed text Plushy is an amazing ham, SB is perfection for him. But yes, LGC I get why he's switching to Chopin, it's the best choice and it's quite incredible, especially now but I shall miss LGC. One day as an EX perhaps!
  7. That's a purely subjective opinion. As far as I am concerned, LGC is the best SP Yuzuru has ever done and it was a corker. It suited him perfectly, as a mature skater due to its demands and complexity, and an adult man now he could have pulled off the content. SB is an EX. An entirely different thing.
  8. I find it hilarious Zhenya had to post on her insta story that no, she did not in fact have a hair cut, and her hair is even longer And Alina is so cute!
  9. If I thought of it ... he's a little Dalek at heart when it comes to skating! But it would be lovely, wouldn't it. I am not going to say anything because I feel like not jinxing it so just fingers crossed, and toes, that he decides he's no where near done and we get more time with him!
  10. No gold. I am super curious about Seimei tbh. I'd keel over for black with red, but black as the dominant color in general would be divine. Heck he can even flip it, a wine red as the dominant color and mmmm. Both are very striking and impactful!
  11. Actually technically not true. The 4A can be the solo quad, so he would have a 4A, 4T-3T (or any quad combo), 3A as the layout. Annihilate, exterminate.
  12. So according to Shirota-san, the color of the costume for Chopin is - the color of winning. My guess for this would be - blue!
  13. Shoe brand? That sounds ... random. And mostly I was going for the intimidation effect. Though stomping those scores totally works too. I am a blood-thirsty tonight apparently *shifty eyes* Ahem, my apologies all.
  14. No goat blood sucking? Sniff. But that will do! 4Lo does seem like a Yeti!
  15. Why not? Which is the BF then, and which is the Yeti? Oh oh! Chupacabra? For the Lz?
  16. Indeed! He is giving us a couple of doses first, so that by the time the Loch Ness jump shows up, we are at least a tad desensitized and we don't all keel over right at the first glimpse of it (we will anyway but he tried. So considerate, our Ebil Overlord)
  17. It's the Olympic season and Yuzuru already has a new quad he's working on, the 4Lz. He's not going to go and seriously train the 4A, especially considering the issues with that jump, at this moment. He's always been very strategic in how he handles things, so no matter what that guy is implying, and honestly to me it seems more like second hand/spun info than anything else, the 4A at this point in a competition program is a dream. Next season, a whole different story in terms of possibilities but we'll just have to sit tight and wait. Even with a BV reduction (if they even go for it, which I am not certain at all that they will), it's a matter of getting into the history books because a 4A is a 4A, no matter how many points you get for it and he will want that ratified if possible. Until then though, we have the Lz first!
  18. Huh, that's a very good question and I don't understand the decision either, if it remains this way. How odd.
  19. Not happy with the idea if the solution is lower BV + increase the range of GOEs. That leaves a lot more room for judges to fudge and there is absolutely no way to prevent that. Politicking is something that is never going to go away. So if we have that it will really just increase the problems we currently have. At the moment, skaters can count on a certain number of points even if they cannot count on the GOEs, regardless of how they perform the jump. GOEs often end up being a product of reputation and politicking far more than what is actually happening on the ice but at least there's a guaranteed number of points BV offers. If they increase the GOE range while lowering the BV, the space for score manipulation just increases exponentially, and there will be manipulation, there is no doubt about that. It leaves the scores way more in the hands of the judges, than the hands of the skaters, and that is never a good thing. Just the GOE range increase doesn't guarantee us anything either, the judges will have to actually apply the rules, which is again up in the air but at least the BV would remain as it is for federations without much influence and other iffy stuff. Also, I think they're playing with fire, if they go for that mixed solution because scandals are so going to increase and IOC is not going to be happy.
  20. Yes, I'm going to have the same problem, though at least the men are towards the end of it. I'm probably going to have to pass on the SD though, way too awkward a time.
  21. Honestly, I have absolutely no idea Maybe Orzel actually. I am much more focused on the ladies, than the guys, it's been like this for a good couple of seasons now. Maybe someone else is paying more attention to them, hopefully! _____ And the ladies event is again going to be interesting. Soon enough we'll be able to start keeping the score for the potential JGPF candidates, it's going to be tight! Eunsoo, Gubanova and Tarakanova, wonder if Iwano fixed her US issues. I am sort of surprised to see Loena on this list but I guess, considering she couldn't get the GPs this was the logical choice. Lets see how she's getting on, she was very good at Europeans last season. Oh the event thread will go up tomorrow!

  23. About the gala 3As from this past season - what he's attempting there is a twizzle-3A-twizzle, which is by no means an easy thing to do. You have to control the momentum you have from the rotations on ice and the speed from moving across it (the skater is both rotating and moving across the ice on one foot at the same time), and then from that, into a jump, and from that, into yet another twizzle. Then all of that, under the gala lights which make things double difficult. He really does know how to make his own life hard. I don't see any problems with his 3As apart from the usual bobble here and there, which is normal.
  24. I was absolutely certain this would happen really soon, so I am not surprised in the least. In a way, I feel like it's perhaps the end of a very bad time for her, finally, and yes, perhaps quitting skating all together is what is necessary for her to truly shake off the shadows of the past that obviously continued to haunt her. I am sadder than I thought I'd be, as I figured I'd made peace with it, but I guess not because I can't stop thinking how much we lost because she was never allowed, and I do think that's the right word, to become a fully mature skater. But ultimately, sod that. Be happy Yulia, fly high!
  25. Well true that and yes, you can totally do the design! While on this topic, I do wonder how her FS is considering TAT went into ecstasy after having seen it, and even if we take just 50% of it as true, considering she can exaggerate, it still sounds pretty good. Can't wait for those test skates.
