  1. Yes (it also has that fab quote of we're all mad here, which well, might apply to all of us hee hee hee)

  4. Oh yes, I don't expect a full version come ... what is it, Saturday? but I think we'll already have a good idea of where it's going. I also think he can do it, plus the music is perfection of a choice for it. Honestly? If Yuzuru were to go for 6, then I would expect him to actually consider the 4-4. I think otherwise he would not because I am sure he's aware of the issues. Of course, if he ends up adding that 4A, the set up for that even for him is probably not going to be small, so there's that to consider. But let's get through this season first!
  5. In essence, we should enjoy this season to the fullest because once it's done who knows what's even waiting for us in the future. (I think Yuzuru will try for the 4A because he wants the jump, for the prestige of it and to say that he can but no doubt, if they lower the BV of that too I question when anyone else will even attempt it again because why would they?)
  6. Yes, that was my point. In competition nobody is doing them, no matter what one may fiddle with in practice. Which means 6 or 7 set ups for the quads plus the Axel(s). That is a lot. And well, that's the old, old grievance of not allowing for some bonus for difficult combos but tbh, I've given up. They, ISU, will never do what is logical and beneficial but they'll always end up going for some convoluted nonsense that just makes things worse. Sigh.
  7. Yes, he has shorter set-ups for the jumps, so already, he has an advantage. It's not even just quads there, lots of men still have issues with the 3As and you can go grab a snack by the time they actually jump it. So when you mix all of this, he really does have an edge there. Stamina of course, and the force that the body has to suffer through ... really tough. Human limitations indeed, even the biggest prodigy/talent has them. Fingers crossed though that we are yet again surprised in a couple of days!
  8. Agreed and that beading really reminds me of the style of her first, Boston, FS dress.
  9. Also in motion, though I think it would look fine, looking at that skirt. These are beautiful colors though, they would go well against the ice.
  10. It's actually a question that's sort of bigger than Nathan or Shoma, which is can you even pull off a complete program with 6 quads, never mind 7? I think that at 5 already there's going to be trouble, never mind 6. And I count Yuzuru and Patrick here too among people who I think would have trouble pulling of a complete program with that many quads. I know Patrick believes that the balance is at 3 but at the same time, I think Yuzuru has proven last season that 4 were equally possible. I guess we're left to wait, not too long, to see how 5 works out. The music is pretty good to stretch this perhaps but again, I don't think 6 or higher is possible, no matter who it is. Unless they're doing 4-4 combos, which nobody is currently.
  11. I have so many questions over banning Kinder surprise... Anyhow, yes, I actually wanted that for this season! Oh woe is me, that didn't work out I still say he should do it. Next season, gimme.

2017 Ondrej Nepela Memorial The Ondrej Nepela Trophy (2013–2015, 2017), formerly titled the Ondrej Nepela Memorial (Slovak: Memoriál Ondreja Nepelu), is an annual senior-level international figure skating competition. Named after 1972 Olympic champion Ondrej Nepela, the competition has been held annually since 1993. It became part of the ISU Challenger Series in the 2014–2015 season.
  13. I saw this when I saw the B thing and I still do not quite understand the point of these bonus points. You'd think they are just messing with skaters' heads, considering they don't exist anywhere else. Huh.

  15. Just a quick reminder, we are back in business for the JGP this week! Of course it'll be a combined madhouse with the 2 challengers but the more the merrier! BTW Moa Iwano has now lost her 2nd assignment.
  16. Ah this thread, started May 1st is about to reach an interesting point. Just a few more days and he will skate with his jacket onto the ice and everyone will scream once again when he takes it off. Our days of wondering will be replaced by days of ... something. At least we know it won't be Now You See Him, Now You Don't. (no gold!)
  17. Ok I feel more sane now. I was talking about this to a friend, and for a few moments I was so sure the ruddy color was changing I am therefore not that bonkers. Thank you Hannah!
  18. Did I miss someone? (I am so sorry if I did but still applies!) Welcome, welcome and the right time to join us. Straight into the boiling water, no toe dipping here, now that's the spirit! Huzzah.
  19. Find the nearest pub, throw back a couple and you'll sleep like a baby. < -- pro at this stuff
  20. Since you're all already getting ready and some have even arrived, have an absolutely smashing time folks! Relax and have fun, and I hope you all enjoy yourselves to the fullest! (also remember, a glass of wine is fab for the nerves)
  21. That he looked hot as heck but soon after came The Great Debate that I still fondly call in my head - Now You See Him, Now You Don't Argument - of is that white actually a good costume or not. Then came the nickname of the floating Hanyu torso and after that, well it was RIP white LGC. Purple IIRC just went back to hot, with a minor side dish of - did they just dip that into purple dye?
  22. Oh I agree and I don't think he'll wait till NHK, I think we'll see it at CoR for sure but who knows. It's incredible how time has flown and we are are almost in ACI week! It's like only yesterday we were waiting to see his LGC costume.
  23. There are pros and cons to everything and adding the 4Lz later on also has these so I don't think he'll wait that long. Doing it in competition is completely different to practice so when you look at the upcoming competitions, it's really NHK that sort of stands as the latest possible option, if he wants enough time to incorporate it properly because post that? GPF, J Nats and Olympics. All of those are important. Personally, I actually believe that he is capable of pulling off his high-average season. We'll see. I feel really sorry for Boyang actually. Having seen Nathan's FS and prior to that Boyang's FS all I can say is uh oh, did he get screwed over. I am not even sure what he can do right now. Go back to the previous season's program and aim for stability with an increase difficulty seems like the best option for me but in any case I do hope Team China is taking a very, very close look at his situation and I hope they choose wisely.
  24. Exactly, I've been saying this since we heard the news. Get the judges used to the new programs, then as he goes up with the quad numbers, everything else is dropped to either make room or make the program easier (and this goes for the SP as well) but the PCS will hold, if not actually rise due to the increased number of quads. It's such a clever, underhanded but clever tactic.
  25. I do, I think he'll be clean for the SP. The wobbles in the FS are more expected, so I am not entirely sure how that'll go, especially with the 5 quads, but I don't expect anywhere near the last ACI performance; he'll be far more prepared.
