  1. Omg Brian! I could imagine Brian's expressions when he's saying this. I finally feel relieved about Yuzu's situation. He's such a GOAT that everyone complies by his wishes willingly.
  2. I willing trade my sanity for Yuzu's happiness. I agree. It's kinda of a blessing in disguise because it shielded Yuzu from even more pressure. And he tends to perform better when he's the underdog. When the US over-hype Nathan, I think it might be bad for him. It's true he hasn't lost any competition but his GPF win was more due to luck than skills. I think he did well for nationals partially because he knew he'll win and he doesn't have as much pressure going in. This season seems especially odd for the Men's field...and maybe a little so for the Ladies. It's great that Pairs and Ice Dance teams seem to not have incurred the wrath of the skating gods.
  3. Imagine this face as he reads through all the messages on the 7m banner...
  4. I agree. Lala Land was a gorgeous program. But, I'm more charmed by Starr than Ashley because of their personalities. I feel sad whenever I see skaters needing to raise funds to support their dreams.
  5. What if you have too many poohs? Don't be drowned by pooh rain before you reach Pyeongchang.
  6. Or maybe 3F can be re-assigned to serve one of the court ladies. 4T-Lo-3F anyone?
  7. The reason why they're doing so little crossovers compared to the other men must mean that their crossovers are of low quality! Did you see how beautiful the crossover of *insert younger skater's name* is? Yuzu and Patrick got tons to learn if they want their crossovers to achieve such beauty! Yes, I want to see Patrick goes out with 2 clean programs too. I felt that the push for more quads has strained him both mentally and physically. I'm glad he switched coaching teams and strategy so that his love for figure skating was not eroded away. Right now, I wish for Patrick to retire with 2 clean programs that he can be proud of, that he can enjoy skating to.
  8. I totally agree! Yuzu has skated in much worse conditions. I believe this strong kuyashii-ness that has built up can work in his favor. Talking about Olympic nerves, if Nathan, Shoma and Boyang bomb, the podium could very well be Yuzu, Javi and Patrick, which I think will be a nice culmination of Javi's and Patrick's career. Despite the odds against him, I still have faith that Yuzu can win the gold medal. Back in his interview in Kenji no Heya, I think Yuzu mentioned that he "knew" from a long time ago that he would get the OGM. His mental fortitude is incredible and his talent is on par. I have faith in him that he will put out skates that he will be proud of.
  9. I find it hilarious that it's easier to decipher his age through looking at his muscles than at his face.
  10. For NY Times, I thought it was pretty decent too. I don't agree that Yuzu's the Michael Jackson on ice cos he's not a superb dancer and most importantly, he's THE Yuzuru Hanyu on ice. But I'm not going to complain since this title will attract more readers. I agree with this assessment! He's probably one of few athletes who got so popular just by being his usual awesome self, rather than a being driven by some PR machine. That said, I think the more recluse he is, the happier I am for him. He's given us fans so much that I just wish he can have a his own space. I'm content to see him only during competitions and other public jobs. His smiles are the most precious. =) And I'm super happy to hear that he's recovered! Thanks Javi!!!
  11. Happy New Year fellow satellites!!! One of the best thing I've had in 2017 was to find this beautiful planet, filled with warmth and squishy-ness for our Evil Overlord Zuzu! May 2018 bring us all health and happiness!!! Cacti are strong and resilient, just like Yuzu, and we're survive 2018 with more Yuzu awesomeness!
  12. Btw, I realized I made a silly mistake...I made February start on a Wednesday, instead of a Thursday. The dates of the events are correct though! I've fixed it...not much difference, but the calendar week starts from Monday instead of Sunday. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zy4EpStfd6Y5EHOCqnADwycU82mGp-8K/view?usp=sharing
  13. I can't help it.... (Ooh, look what you made me do) (Look what you made me do) (Look what you just made me do) "I'm sorry, the old Fanyu can't come to the phone right now." (Look what you just made me do) (Look what you made me do) (Look what you made me do) "Why?" (Look what you just made me do) "Oh, 'cause she's watching Yuzu skate!" (Oh!) That pose reminds me of salt bae...Maybe Yuzu is trying to sprinkle more sparkles to Requiem?
  14. @matchanodoame Merry belated Christmas and Happy be-earlied New Year!!! I made a February 2018 calendar page marking the dates of the figure skating events at PC. It's not much, but I hope you like it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zy4EpStfd6Y5EHOCqnADwycU82mGp-8K/view?usp=sharing And there are so many adorable, creative or thoughtful gifts here!
  15. I switch between a sad and living cactus I just can't imagine Yuzu buying groceries since he doesn't cook. Mama Hanyu: I told you to get a kg of potatoes, not tomatoes!!!
  16. Despite Shoma being closest to reaching Yuzu levels compared to few others, it's interesting that he has never won over Yuzu in any competition. But aww...Shoma is such a sweet boy...
  17. Has she seen Yuzu programmes? Does she have any idol or people whom she really admire? Maybe show her bb Yuzu photos and videos? Maybe she's jealous cos he's a grown man close to your age? (Our bb grows up fast! ) I would assume it's harder to be jealous of a little boy and mushroom Zuzu is very cute!
  18. I miss this boy. Imagine how much bigger his kuyashii will be at PC 2018 since he missed the gpf 2017 and nationals.
  19. Same question. And I feel so conflicted. It's like many have mentioned, that I don't care if he wins any medals, I just want him to be happy and healthy. But his happiness is linked to him getting the gold medal. I feel so helpless as a fan.
  20. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I came across a Chinese commentary on Yuzu's Notte Stellata ex for World Championships Helsinki 2017. It has Chinese and Japanese subtitles for those who can understand. I've did a quick translation, which is by no means professional. I bolded the favorite part of the commentary. Next year (at around the same time), he will once again present an unparalleled program. Next up, we have the Olympic Champion, Yuzuru Hanyu. He made a mistake and was 5th in the SP, but he gave a huge comeback in his free and ultimately regained his place as the Champion on the podium. *Notte Stellata* (They didn’t comment during the Ex) There are some poetic phrases…I’ll try my best to translate… 幸得识卿桃花面,从此阡陌多暖春。 Ever since I’ve had the fortune to see your smile brilliant like a cherry blossom, I have felt more warmth as I walk through the paths of lives. We are extremely fortunate to have known Yuzuru Hanyu at his prime. 时光做度、眉目成书。 You can read the eyebrows of a person, who has been through many life experiences, as if you were reading a book about his life. From now on, our sincere and deep feelings will not be let down. Every moments of youth will age, but in our memories there will always be a place reserved for Yuzuru Hanyu. In this season, Yuzuru Hanyu has the best free program and the best overall score (just for the season). What’s most noble about a person isn’t about surpassing others, but about surpassing oneself. Therefore, for this free program, we can say that Yuzuru Hanyu has defeated Yuzuru Hanyu.
  21. I agree...I was so impressed by Nathan's FS at US classics that I'm now more disappointed that it didn't live up to expectations. I guess...it's kinda similar to Nathan's GPF win... I think winning the Olympic gold imperfectly has been a good thing for Yuzu because since then he's been trying to prove that he deserves that title. And he did! Although I some times get . about Shoma's and Nathan's score, I'm glad they're sharing the psychological burden of being expected to perform.)
  22. This statement is meant for the trolls...lol I won't be at PC, but if I were, I might aim my Pooh at the judges who have a track record of questionable judging. =P Umm, so he has started jumping then? Omg same!!! I actually feel glad to hear about the withdrawal because it means Yuzu finally is learning how to listen to his body. Happy Birthday, Mama Orser!!!
  23. I didn't know it was bb Shoma's birthday! Happy belated birthday!! I see bb shoma has a pooh by his bed side.
  24. I think it's silly to use Tonya Harding's case to argue his point. Sure, there are still issues of sexism, but figure skating has evolved since then and costumes don't really affect the results. They are just interesting talking points for us audiences. Nobody would say Zhenya didn't deserve her gold medals simply because they didn't like her costumes. Does this Paul Lukas still live in the Tonya Harding era? And kudos to Adam for speaking up!
  25. Sometimes I wish it's easier to tell the age of Yuzu from his photos...this boy doesn't age! And our Christmas present is that our Bb is smiling happily because he can start doing jumps again. Ugh...and no one has broken his records despite much higher BVs....those commentators dont know how to appreciate Yuzu.
