Thank you! Can we mail flowers to Max? He's very much on the money on all the skaters so far. And I'm so happy that there's finally a commentator who acknowledges Boyang's efforts (c'mon Lori, bring out the rest of Boyangman!). I think the best thing that Max does, is he acknowledges all the skaters' strengths and weaknesses, and if other writers in other forums, or even twitter, actually read through, thought about it, they can realize that certain skaters can be liked for certain qualities, none of which detract from liking other skaters (I'm looking at you Phil). It's probably the most loaded top 6 in men's that we've had in years (possibly we've never had such a group before).

Not to interrupt this discussion of jazz music, but Hana Wa Saku, has an english version sung by Il Divo. Maybe we can suggest this version to Yuzu for an ex or a show at some point?

We are counting on you, oh great ralucutzagy!

2 weeks after Rostelcom. She's less than 500 away.

Well he also did not mention Ashley Wagner nor Karen Chen, both who made it to the worlds team for the US in 2017. Never mind the seniors, wonder what he thinks looking at the JGP circuit for the ladies- some of the girls there can give the senior ladies a run for the money on TES at least.

Wikipedia reference here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Autumn_Festival In china, we just jokingly call it the Moon Cake Festival, due to the association with super sweet, usually expensive moon cakes that you don't eat at any other time of the year. Unlike Korea, we usually get only 1 day off, but sometimes it falls on the National Holiday week (Oct 1-7th) like this year. There's usually a story associated with it, in this case the story of Chang E who fled to the moon, and like all asian romance stories, it's kind of tragic, and supposedly we follow this tradition now in the steps of her husband to honor her.

Living in asia now, I don't think the average asian guy is that good looking, but then again on average men aren't that good looking either. Women are still the fairer sex....

you are kidding, right? o_O So Japan will basically be represented by the 48s?

Kyuhyun's also my favorite among the Suju boys. Or you know, Yuzu can*cough* take singing lessons from Kyuhyun and then sing live at his next FaOI.
-
Actually I think his skin is better than most idols' skins. Maybe it's due to the makeup, but a lot of idols look a bit "oily" to me on TV, so you can tell there is makeup on. Yuzu always looks like his skin is perfectly natural and very soft.

You're trying to speak logic. And actually, quite a few of the really really devoted FS fans in that other forum like Yuzu too. I think there are quite a number who like his skating, but would not classify themselves as "fans" (actually I'm a borderline fan XD) that exist there, and a couple of the more thorough posters do admire the qualities of his skating. Sometimes fandom is just nostalgia for a certain skaters, so it's unlikely that given their age, they have that much nostalgia for Yuzu now. Japanese vocab is hardest for me. For both Chinese and Korean (I studied in Seoul for a semester) vocab pronunciation was fairly consistent, but in Japanese I still can't wrap my head around why one character in one instance reads as taka, and another reads as ko-aka 高is taka in the family name takahashi, but ko in the name of Koshiro.

Oh that one, the really raspy one that kind of stood out because it sounded like he was trying to make his voice smaller, but failed brilliantly. If he didn't try to hold his vocal cords back it'd be a bit less flat. overlord needs some voice lessons maybe?
-
You can actually tell which is his voice? I can't really tell.
-
Not quite there yet, I mean we haven't quite had him sing Notte Stellata yet. @Murieleirum decided he was a tenor some time ago.
-
Possibly, but Jia You is one of the easiest to imitate/pronounce right. I'd die to hear him try some of the tongue twisters, especially between the si/shi and ci/chi and zi/zhi sounds. And it always amuses me that going from Chinese to Korean or japanese, pronunciation isn't so hard, but going from korean/japanese to chinese pronunciation gets harder? Or he could try russian.
-
I find it amusing he's calling Boyang by his nickname "Tian Tian." You usually don't do that in China unless you're pretty close. Now to see him cheer on Cha Junhwa in Korean.

Because there are legions of us. After one wave dies the other wave moves in and replaces.

XD awww....please go to beijing 2022 now...or at least we can hold a GPF in China? (I'll go steal seats)
-
I thought it was going to be mannasol pangapsumnida... Speaking of which, Yuzu has spoken Chinese, right?
-
And I guess that microsoft program will ID Yuzu as "Female, age 18."
-
I was pretty sure of his success rate with the 4Lz ever since that leak from Tsuzuki (spelling?), so the issue was just whether he will add or not add twizzles. But ACI experience probably sealed the deal for him-he's discovered that he cannot contain his quads, and if he tries he pops anyways. Might as well balance stuff out and go for it. Now it's just a case of working with his team to figure out how to balance out his health and training, and when to bring it out.

Hah, I was actually the same. The first program I saw of his was R&J 1.0, and I thought, "aww such a cute boy, wonder how long he'll last?" It wasn't really until PW at Sochi that really made me appreciate his skating, and then Chopin 2.0 and Seimei that made me follow figure skating again. Before then, I'd have to openly admit to being slightly dismissive of him due to his looks (actually his looks hurt him more than helped him in my books)! Well, Yuzu is nice looking, but still he's not exactly a perfect ten, it's really just the smiles and the gregarious personality that sells him (otherwise I'd give him maybe a 7.5).
-
Well, it's not physically possible, but according to the microsoft program, Yuzu would make a lovely teenage girl. But I also suspect he's going to stick around till 2020, if anything because I don't see any japanese junior men ready to take up the challenge among the senior men yet. Shoma will be lonely at the top if Yuzu r*****.

I get that narrative, but I don't endorse the logic behind it. Guess now it's a bit too late to ask how to fight against that, since proclaiming my love of Todd Eldredge's 3A, love for Kurt Browning's footwork, and demonstrating proper understanding of counters, rockers and brackets seemingly don't do anything.
