  1. Uh, him and silver have a troubled history.
  2. Uh, Javi had to dress up as a Yeti Crab, so someone could borrow those boot covers?
  3. 1 jump to rule them all.... (but he doesn't have hairy feet...)
  4. Someone ever make a "Lord of the Rink" trailer using voiceovers from the actual movie trailer?
  5. Wow, I like the music! I hope he remembers and don't accidentally forget steps. >_< Yes, I think his SS has improved, and his lean when skating is more than before. Whether or not he'll be properly rewarded and noticed though.....>_>
  6. Are they the black ones? I think those are new ones that supposedly have a new material for the blades. If so, are you allowed to share photos? (*sigh* I need to start saving a lot of money if I want pattern 99's at some point eh?)
  7. Go with the one that fits your feet. =) Try both and see which works best for you. You mean the royal series for Risports? Risports feel roomier, Edeas might feel tight at the start but supposedly they are memory foam or something type of padding and will conform around your feet over time (at least that's what all my edea wearing rinkmates say).
  8. So his LGC is a safety hazard. Sounds about right.
  9. Okay...I should stop watching videos of Origin. Watching Yuzu skate is making me itch to get on ice, limping left ankle whatever!
  10. He could work with different textures, velvet, silk etc, stuff that have a natural sheen. Agh, we're going OT...how did we go from Yuzu's outfit to how it should inspire Nate? XD ...NO.
  11. He had gold embrodery in his LP outfit in 2017. It was shiney! And there was black lace in his SP outfit. Now I want a glitterbomb Nathan too. It would look amazing with his curls....(waits for fate to strike back and present Nathan without curls or glitter T_T)
  12. Well if you're up for a trip to Beijing. And yes, he's good. He can sharpen for the rev blades, the new materials for jackson blades, and the weird curvatures of the side-honed gold seals and gold stars, parabolics etc. And I think he's been to Japan and the US to train before so he can do adjustments for pronation etc. He had kids who skate, so you can so he's a bit intimate with skating itself. XD It's actually kind of funny talking to him at times, because he has wonderful nightmare stories about various skating disasters people had when overbooting or overblading themselves.
  13. According to my skate tech, it's mainly a blades thing. But not everyone has the same issue- know a girl who switched to paramounts and adapted fast enough.
  14. Question, has it been said before that Vince Zhou is doing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon by Tan Dun for his FS this season? Jeff Buttle choreography. http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00034362.htm
  15. To be fair to your tech, the chorus and the RF3's are more or less equivalent in stiffness. The tech I send my skates to, usually starts out adult skaters in Edea 3stars or RFLight to begin with since they need more support due to weight. When I tried out my boots, he was thinking either I go RF3 or go the Edea 5 star for stiffness depending on when I thought I would start axels. I prefer Risports since their toe-boxes are higher and a bit more roomey. But the ankles are a bit wider than I prefer, while Edeas fit around the heel but pinch my arch like crazy...>_< Pro vs Aces: a lot of the skaters I know at my rink (and even city) if they are on intermediate blades, they are on MK Professionals or Jackson blades. Very few are on coronation aces (in fact when I had to resell my old boots, my skate tech told me to just reuse the blades because most intermediate skaters in China do not use Wilson blades). As for spin vs Jumping, most of what I've heard here is that MK Pros have the rounder, and nicer rocker for spinning. While Cor Aces have the flatter rocker profile and the bigger toe picks for jumping. Granted here, usually what blade you move to is based on coach recommendation, and a lot of coaches here prefer their skaters on a MK professional profile when the skater starts spinning more. Personally, I don't find the Cor Aces that hard to center for spinning, but a rink mate and I were comparing and think that the Cor aces require more precision (and are a bit back in the ball of the feet) for spinning. He (on MK pros) is pressing the ball of the foot closer to the toe joint when centering spins, while I (on Cor aces) am pressing more towards my arch when centering on the ball of my foot. As for why...don't know. My skate tech prefers MK blades and Jackson blades for intermediate level, and at higher level prefers Jacksons and Wilsons. Granted, he even has paramounts in stock....I think he's said before that in terms of defects and precision, actually Jackson has the best track record of the three. What I've heard from my skate tech, when it comes to blades, is that switching between MK and Wilson isn't that hard. You just need to adapt to a different profile, but usually not hard. The harder adjustment is going from Wilson and MK to Jackson or Paramount. This is because the material of the blade has changed, and many people switching from MK/Wilson to Jackson had more trouble and a longer adjusting period. Not to the profile, but the Jackson blades are lighter, so much so that the skaters felt as if they were skating on empty air and couldn't fully feel their blades.
  16. ^ Pretty much the list there is the supplimentary/backup team of the national team. From what's been discussed on Chinese baidu bars, a lot of the people on that list have retired or left competitive skating. So it's more to keep those former skaters involved and ready in case they are needed. Call them string-B skaters. It's more an issue of lack of new skaters in China in certain fields. I've seen recruitment efforts in ice dance more than in singles.
  17. Well I hope there is enough bling to blind and give his antis migraines for days. >_> (yes I can be petty too)
  18. I'm going to have whiplash just looking from costume to costume. So we go from lace-mesh to bling? The glitter will blind us enough that we can tolerate it?
  19. Of the journalists and commentators, I'd rather invite Max Ambesi and Angelo. Their insights on Yuzu isn't quite so click-baitey. >_>
  20. Average Hanyu level. In China FS fandom, we also nickname Patrick Chan's costumes "Thermal underwear (long underwear) getup."
  21. I'm waiting for him to stumble in and read all these jinx wishes as actual wishes of what his skating costume will be. Then we'll probably end up with some unitard that resembles spectre de la rose, that resembles Nemesis outfit cut and lines, with the white part having a weird zebra or cow print pattern. (No Yuzu, please don't do this)
  22. Oh, so the blue one is the basis for the Sp and the other for the long? Well fans weren't too off with black+gold.
  23. His own origins? You mean that cowboy outfit?
  24. 3A as ChSq-sure why not.
  25. I think the Chsq was the section before the 3A2T, it looks similar to the one from Seimei. At this point, I am semi afraid that Ina bauer and hydroblade have been downgraded to "just transitions" level. >_>
