  1. I'd ask him why he wants to keep destroying my life by never performing in Australia. (Oh yeah, ドS, I keep forgetting.) Seriously, though, you could make a killing selling tour packages to Japanaese fans. I'm tempted to get into event management to make it a reality. Also, yes to the first thing. H&L was so utterly perfect I had a hard few weeks coming to terms with the knowledge that something so beautiful could actually exist in this world. It made me love the creatures known human beings again after seeing all the hideous crap they've been pulling in recent years.
  2. Seems it's from 2015 https://dot.asahi.com/dot/2015120600016.html
  3. So squished. I think his WD from NHK was him trying to personally save me.
  4. Wowowow thank you so much! That footage is more precious than I thought! And I totally put all my money on you finding it. >_>
  5. Thank you! Ugh, that creepy statue. I wish they'd put out a book of those photos - they're beautiful! (No Verrtigo cringe, though, please!)
  6. That's the reason I hadn't set foot in a forum for 10 years. I was so surprised to find the mods and admins to be the friendliest people here! You guys are terrible enablers, though, and I will never forgive you. (Thank you all for being rad. )
  7. Not as much of a curse as being the guy who edits his music! I appreciate the final products but I wouldn't want to have to deal with that. That's why his programs are so high quality, though. I'd love to hear from Shae and Jeff about this sort of excessive refinement of detail.
  8. Even if you look back at tiny Yuzu's Amazonic (that was the music Johnny skated to in the original Etude costume) Yuzu's costume even has a tiny little shoulder ruffle. I wonder if he didn't use it as inspiration even back then but the complexity of the design was too difficult to replicate.
  9. You've been more than successful in providing that space - really a stellar effort. I can't believe something like this didn't exist before! That being said, I deeply, deeply regret ever finding this place, LOOK AT MY GODDAMN POST COUNT! It's all your fault. Go and sit in the corner with Anne the bug lady! I don't think anyone would bother following his career just for his looks, (perhaps I'm underestimating the shallowness of humankind.) So long as appreciation of his genius precedes that of his beauty (not that I believe you can separate the two completely; he's a beautiful, beautiful skater) then where is the problem? Even my senior citizen father finds him super cute so we're pretty much all doomed.
  10. I think I found the source of his training gear, too! (Yes, I know, reaching.) source
  11. I'm sure if his mother were a more experienced seamstress he would have had a full Johnny wardrobe as a junior, too. He was definitely emulating his moves and style back then. Even as a novice he was doing Johnny's jellyfish spin (whatever it's called - should be called jellyfish spin.) And if he'd done a Prince routine or a SEIMEI routine we'd definitely be seeing his influence there. I think Johnny definitely deserves royalties for all these inspirations.
  12. Here you go, Daisuke borrowed Etude from Yuzu source
  13. source ETA I think you're underestimating Johnny's influence. I'd put it closer to 90%. Sota Yamamoto also borrowed it (and a few other Japanese skaters but can't remember right now.) source
  14. Yeah, sorry, I'm not sure anyone ever bought that image. ETA Sorrysorrysorry plz don't ban me we all just love when you post your heart out.
  15. Chopin belongs to Johnny, too.
  16. Yes please! save the filtering for the coffee!
  17. I wonder what SEIMEI would have looked like had Johnny done a Heian period piece first. Fanartists, do your thing!
  18. My theory is they got a job at TCC and have to cover their tracks.
  19. Looking for this footage from News Watch 9 (or any other program.) I think it's 2014 NHK official practice. (Quietly placing bets on who will fulfill my request.) And if anyone knows where this lovely photo of loveliness was published, I'd love to know.
