I don't think this has been posted yet. Translation of the Q&A from the People's Honor Award http://nanoka12.tumblr.com/post/175475810906/q-a-after-peoples-honour-award-ceremony-2-july This part in particular made me really sad for him and the pressure he puts on himself.

Poll: Yuzu's new ultra low Hydroblade - Did he kiss the ice?
xeyra replied to Danibellerika's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
This is a very important poll. And question. -
Shoma has a lot of fans and they're definitely not all former Dai fans. He has a lot of fans that are also Yuzu fans and those he has acquired on his own through the past seasons.
-
Everyone has their own antis and some people sometimes behave a bit too strongly against certain skaters, even if they aren't really an anti (we've been guilty of this on occasion). Since we're in Yuzu's forum, we tend to bring out situations where people have shown him hate more often than to others, and especially with Dai coming back, people are recalling some past history with some of his fans. It's sad, and I wish people didn't conflate these types of fans with the skaters themselves, which is what sometimes happens with people and 'fanyus'. I agree, though, that it's too soon to assume a lot of things, whether it be that he'll get undeserved PCS with low tech a la Carolina (wasn't he like underscored when compared to Patrick Chan back in the day?) or that he'll be sent (or want to go) to Worlds instead of a young skater developing and needing the chance.
-
Well yeah that's the unfortunate truth about PCS. For everyone.
-
If Daisuke gets back all his triples (by the videos he seems to have recovered his 3A!) and does well in his competitions, including Nationals, I don't know why he shouldn't get high PCS, at least in the categories he seems to excel at (Performance, Interpretation and possibly Composition). And if he manages to podium at Nationals, all the better because after 4 years that would be a great feat. However, any speculation or fears he'll end up taking over some young skater's spot is a bit premature, especially since Dai has said he doesn't intend to do so and is not at this point planning to compete internationally. This is for him, a wish to make peace with the way he had to end his career due to injury. If things change later, we'll see. And I'm looking forward to seeing him! On another note, Shun Sato landing that 3A in his SP! And then an unclear edge on his 3Lz...
-
Wouldn't Dai need to have international competition minimum TES to be able to do Worlds? He'd need to do an international B comp at some point for the minimum TES otherwise it doesn't matter what his ranking at nationals is, he wouldn't be able to go to Worlds.
-
And the choreo sequence that is now worth more!
-
Fanwars aside, I'mm actually looking forward to seeing Dai compete since I came into FS long after he retired.

I like it. Looking forward to seeing it with music. -
I know we have a thread for tributes but I can't find it now so I'm dropping this here. Check out the first girl!
-
Goodbye Lubov! Have fun in your new endeavours!
-
I guess he could bring papa in training Ghisland with him but hopefully no one needs jump training for a week at TCC.
-
I'm not sure Yuzu had much of a say in where he got sent. As unseeded skater, he was a bargaining chip. They'll have to make this work. At least it's not back to back, like it would be if he got Finland AND NHK.
-
And didn't he go from NHK 2014 4th place disaster to absolutely stunning GPF victory with only one mistake in each segment, also in two weeks time (and no Brian, even)? He did stay in Japan for that, though.
-
Plot twist: Yuzuru gets invited to train at Sambo 70 before CoR.
-
The amount of time he has between assignments is the same whether he did SC and NHK or NHK and IDF, though, isn't it? The only way he'd have more time was if he had been assigned SC and IdF.
-
But Shoma has basically a coach 24/7 who doesn't really have any other top skaters. Mihoko, bless her, can accompany him easily to a rink somewhere 1 week prior. I don't think TCC has that option with so many skaters to juggle. Though I guess Yuzu has trained alone without Brian before so it might be an option this time around, who knows.
-
NHK incident wasn't so much because of jetlag as it was because his immune system crapped out and he got a fever from the travel.

Carmen and POTO. Alina, sweety, I'm so sorry. -
It'll be his first GP event. Historically..... we know how those turn out.
-
Theory is Helsinki requested some big names as a draw in exchange for hosting an expensive GP competition on short notice. Once that happened, and having to take into account the 1-3 seed from Worlds rules and avoiding back to back assignments, Helsinki and CoR was what was left. Though technically Yuzu could have gone to IdF instead of CoR but maybe he wanted to avoid plastic medals again.
-
Or the same thing if Yuzu were to place second at both of his GP assignments (get those two silvers out of the way early so he can get his golds where it matters). 26 points are enough to get someone to the GPF.
