Not particularly important but I just found the most recent post at ONTD @ livejournal is about Yuzu and the anniversary of the earthquake. Since I hardly ever see figure skating mentioned there, outside of the recent Olympics posts, I thought it was great.

It lowered from 8500+ million, sadly.

Oh yeah, it's only for today, so it can't be once per day.

What's the link to the auction? I keep forgetting to bookmark it. Also, is the 3.11 search on Yahoo Japan a once per day thing or a once per IP thing or?
-
And in the comments, Jim Parsons (Sheldon from TBBT) says: "seriously - just watched his exhibition skate - EXHIBITION! - and it was chilling. his relationship to the ice, to the music... it’s simply inspirational." Edit: Ignore the comment section otherwise; it's full of YOI shippers and the amount of Victurii being thrown in them is giving me a seizure.

Basically no matter how good you are your PCS have a Junior ceiling.

BESP uncles have also been very vocal about Shoma's mighty thighs so they're just like that. I'm glad to see this clip, though, since I don't think it exists in the BESP FS link we have since it's after Shoma's FS. Wonder if there's a full version of it somewhere?
-
You're right, of course. I wouldn't trust them with mine either.

The problem is the auction site doesn't have the means to prevent a bid from being placed. People have to e-mail them to legitimize their bid, yes, but it doesn't seem to prevent it from being made in the first place, before verification happens. Which is logical, because if every bid had to wait for verification from actual people, it would take too long and basically have people be outbid even before they placed a bid. However, there should be some way to have some instant verification, like requiring an actual credit card.
-
I really wish we don't because this isn't funny anymore.
-
OT: I honestly haven't done a bid on eBay in ages (and when I did it was a Buy Now) but does it do that?
-
I agree with this because I feel the added quads robbed Nathan's FS of its potential to be a great program. US Classic, when he only attempted 3 quads (one popped), was its best version, which is kind of sad. Edited to add who I was referring to.

On a more amusing note, my Windows lockscreen this morning was a GOAT. Windows knows.

My fear is that legit bidders will now not feel like bidding again on an auction they might have tried to bid twice on already to just see it cancelled again. So the trolls win, because Yahoo didn't anticipate that people would go out of their way to be assholes on a charity auction. Who can blame them for not being prepared; only awful abortions of nature people would think this is funny. Sorry, I'm actually really mad at this. It stopped being amusing a while ago. It's a f*cking auction to f*cking help people, FFS, control your damn f*cking hate, trolls, and use it to buy competition tickets so Fanyus don't get them or something.

I'm not sure I'd call having messy free skates crumbling under pressure. Those programs they're doing are HARD. Even skaters without much pressure screw up easier layouts. And no man is ever really consistently clean. I do think pressure played a role in certain competitions, like GPF, but I don't know if I'd call it crumbling. Nathan crumbled under the pressure at Olys in his SPs, though, which he had been hitting fairly consistently until then, but Olympics is an entire new ballpark and he entered it with the weight of US media (and his family?) on him. And Shoma maybe got hit the hardest with it during Japanese Nationals, when he became the top man in Yuzu's absence, especially the first time Yuzu had to skip it. I think they'll be fine at Worlds, give or take some mistakes. My only two hopes for the men at Worlds is that we have a good enough competition, and no one breaks any records just because it's the last competition before the rules changes. Judges, control thyselves.

Plus no Javi bronze in there, which would be unlikely in real footage.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing a revamped version of Etude, if he just *has* to repeat something.
-
Technically, he also broke two Olympic records: SP and overall. Though those don't count that much.
-
Err.... too late.
-
I posted this on Twitter first but bringing it here too, though the impact is lost with the photo first.
-
This one I like much more, compared to the cover itself. Here we have a focus of light that actually helps not make the coat look too dark against the blue flower. And he looks really good.
-
Well, you have a point. This is a bit of a different situation than just going to a competition you've signed up for, since there's the injury to consider. Honestly, at this point, if Yuzu isn't already in or on his way to Toronto for training, he's not going to Worlds. But he's a ninja so no one knows where he is.
-
How dramatic was that curtain opening, I wonder. The photo seems to indicate A LOT.
-
I know it's just an unconfirmed rumor but if there's indeed going to be at some point a JSF press conference, it'll basically indicate WD, right? Otherwise, why have a conference about someone participating when they're already in the entries list?
