  1. I'm wondering, when was the auction boot photo taken? Has he had that photo with signed boots forever waiting for an auction? Did he take the photo recently? He looks like he's 12 in that photo, it can't be recent, can it? He switched to Pianos after Boston IIRC. For more protection.
  2. For all that it was amazing the amount of money being bid, I knew it would backfire.
  3. The 3-hours probably also includes exams on his foot and subsequent waiting time.
  4. I am somewhat skeptical these bids will keep because we've done into territory, but I'll be glad to be proved wrong!
  5. To think a pair of boots from Zuzu's smelly feet which he hasn't used in years is going for 5 million yen. But it's all for charity so bid away, fans!
  6. Huh, where did these numbers come from? Yuzu has two OGM, Plushenko 1 individual and 1 team, so also two? Unless you mean total Olympic medals, in which case Plushenko does have 4 (2 gold, 2 silver) but Yuzu still only has two.
  7. At this point I understand falls are likely to be very costly, so much so an average triple might get better scores than the quad attempt. A stepout worth -3 GOE (30% off BV if by 10% intervals as was the initial idea icenetwork mentioned a while ago) might cost more than a stepout now. This will curtail some progress in the ladies and we'll have to see if it'll have an effect on the men and their number of quads in a program. However, I'm puzzled how we've heard more about how elements will be penalized but absolutely nothing about how they'll be rewarded with the new scoring interval.
  8. That second picture, though. That one is lovely.
  9. Nope. They're going to have to Change how they attribute GOE and I'm the most curious about that.
  10. Remember this is from a seminar for people applying to be judges so they're getting both the common guidelines in judging already in use (the transitions and watching practices aspects) as well as new knowledge about actual changes coming with the new system and other rules changes to combat certain practices this past quad.
  11. Good point, gotta think of the buyer's health. Them heart palpitations can be an issue.
  12. I actually think this one would have made a better cover than the one they chose (pardon the shitty quality, you get the idea).
  13. Ditch the jacket, open some collar buttons, make it wanton, Yuzu!
  14. They should have ditched the jacket, at least.
  15. I liked the one where he looks at himself in the mirror but otherwise I think the whole thing is too saturated. I think it's the photographer's style but I felt she's had better color use. I do think the choice of clothing didn't help; grey with such saturated dark blue kind of makes it very dark in a way.
  16. Nah, I was just amused about it being posted here as a tweet. Stéphane deserved more Max GOE on his spins, though. Only 3 is a crime.
  17. Yeah, it's my Max GOE History google sheet.
  18. I hate the Piano boots, though. Which happens to be the ones Yuzu wears. But he covers them, thankfully! Which is also probably why these auction boots don't look to have much wear and tear, since he uses boot covers all the time.
  19. When your own table is tweeted and then the tweet is posted in the same forum where I've posted the original table. Inception.
  20. Right now, they allow for Carolina to have as many PCS as an Alina (though not always Zhenya). As for the men, thankfully there's still some differentiation there, where Javi and Yuzu still get the highest PCS compared to Shoma or Nathan. Whether this will change more next season remains to be seen. BTW, I don't think the new rules are going to be an issue for Yuzu unless he falls a lot or has major errors that will weigh more than in the previous system due to the new GOE intervals. But hopefully he will still get some kind of positive GOE differentiation with his great elements, such as his 3A/4T/4S, compared to others. If not, then I'll have lost any faith still left in this system.
  21. BTW, I'm not sure the aesthetic arm movement is going to be an official rule. It seems to be more of a common guideline in PCS judging, already being used, that's being informed to new judges trainees. It's the -5/+5 GOE and subsequent rule changes that are going to be officialized at some point, like the -5 for falls, -3 for stepouts, the -1/-2 for ugly tanos (how will judges even judge this!?), etc.
  22. I'm a bit worried about this idea of rewarding upper body movement as transitions. While I understand they're trying to possibly break the Russian ladies domination through consistency and TR scores, by rewarding styles like Carolina's more, it has the side-effect (planned, perhaps) of also rewarding crossover and quad heavy men programs, as long as they demonstrate arm choreography during the crossovers. I'm not sure I'd reward that similarly to actual footwork. Or reward it as part of transitions, per se.
  23. There's also the reverse scenario: you get a preliminary score in transitions at practice and then get dinged on it if you miss any.
