Isn't Europe open to South Korea? Though I don't think anyone will take a long flight for this comp, still not bad for Europe, cuz there's no much internal comps in most countries I think.

I totally could when was younger like him

I've heard that after one comp his mom had a bag with her with hand-made fans (I think it was costume painted fans from twitter artist). I think they might collect some hand-made fan stuff... can make a museum in the future!

Junior Skaters of 2020/21 Season
Lunna replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
Hope to see them this season at domestic comps (if Fed will give a chance), I really liked Polina with previous partner. -
As much as I agree about Yuzu getting better and better, I don't really want to compare competition performance with 4 quads and EX version
-
Dunno about this. From other posts I got an impression that Americans have preferable treatment when deciding on enter permission to Canada. Which is kind of understandable cuz it's a neighbor country, but if you look at the numbers it's more strange decision. I could be wrong of course. But even Jason tried to enter twice, for Yuzu with a long flight it's not an option to try.

Not much sense to waste a month or even 1,5 month for quarantine going from Japan and back.
-
Usually they already had ad with Yuzu by this time, so I already don't have much hope
-
I don't think it's tunnel vision, I think he's cautions to say opinion, especially on public, about situation in other countries and I totally agree with him. Because there are numbers and there's a situation you live in. Not sure how much say ISU has in domestic events, they're are mostly in hands of domestic feds and are not covered internationally.

I think last season it was more mental than technical thing. So in this situation Zoom must be ok.
-
More like he said on his YT channel that he had less clicks on twitter. But it's a good humour, I don't really mind, I bet Yuzu would have a joke to answer if he had sns.
-
I'd say almost all Japanese skaters have good speed in general, but I don't want to compare Yuzu, it's always funny how he's the fastest on the warm-up first laps.
-
I have an impression that with good programs Zagitova's speed could be not that bad (without kicks here and there)
-
Too busy with gaming and dogs PR maybe. Maybe zoom advises (if there're are one) is enough, though also in Japan he may have more ice-time actually. Who knows.

Interesting that it's not like that in Russia, but I think we must start from the fact that doctor is not the most prestigious profession here, of course a surgeon is not just a family doctor, but still not like in the West. I didn't saw her PR based on future profession like with Nathan in US press (and she's not even in the university yet). Maybe it's a fact that figure skating is more or less popular here, so no need to add future professions into the fans fight, there's enough drama even without it.

I generally agreed with this opinion before. Skaters are training in groups, so they can compete in small groups too. There can be different entrances for skaters and judges, minimum press and other stuff. The main question is how it will be organized in different countries, especially US, and if final should be held (but that's another question about arena test). Rules are pretty different in different places now, so it's hard to speak for others, but in Russia they will hold domestic comps which will be a mandatory for skaters, so I don't see why CoR will not take place too.

Here comes good old discussion if skater can change technique in adult age. I don't believe it can be changed much, at least in competitions old reflexes will come back again. Also we see how Kolyada can't control his jumps, but he also has good height , so it's very hard for him. Too much speed is also not an option, I think Yuzu has good enough speed into his jumps but not overdoing it, cuz balance is important, with Yuzu what stands out more is good speed through whole program, which is far from crossovers.

Dream on ice - July shows, where Japanese skaters usually perform one of the new programs.
-
Well, there were times of DOI, but he stopped taking part there.
-
As usually his first competition was ACI in September, so some time around late August if I remember right. But this year there's no sense to try and guess.
-
I checked one sales site out of interest and there are options via Turkey, Ukrain. Anyway RusFed will be dumb to keep them out of nationals. There's also test skates in September, so maybe they'll come back to it even.

That's what I've read at Russian forums. The main question only is if there're flights.
