  1. unfortunately both streams don't work for me
  2. Here is Boyang's SP from a nearer perspective: I have to say, that the program looks better from far away ... Still needs lots of polish, even the step sequence that looks good from afar. I hope it's just all his strategy for pacing himself ... Also, he looks quite bulky ... Judging from recent pictures of his training and arms, he gained some muscles on the arms ... Not the best strategy for single men skaters - more something pair skaters need ....
  3. yeah that was generous ... I'm just glad we finally got to see the programs! All the waiting
  4. xeyra, you're the best!!!!
  5. Beautiful 3lutz-3toe by Han yan at practice:
  6. Apparently it's Boyce Avenue's cover of a thousand years ^^ this could make a great program even though it's from twighlight!
  7. none are known till now, maybe one of the later senior B's? Zijun's instagram update:
  8. Eunsoo was fantastic I love her speed in the LP! Hopefully she'll survive puberty (her limbs are pretty long, indicating a big growth spurt awaiting)!
  9. I doubt it .. I really don't know why they won't show their programs internationally ... There is really no sense in that. I mean Yuzu and Javier have even the same Senior B, so if they can compete against each other early on, then I would think the Chinese skaters can, too ... Especially as it would benefit the skater order at later competitions and potentially the Olympics for Zijun and Xiangning.
  10. Apparently there will be a competition called 'national Grand Prix' or something 9th -10th September in Harbin in which the following skaters will participate: Boyang, Han yan, Zijun, Xiangning, Sui/Han, Peng/Jin, Yu/Zhang and others so basically all of team china While I'm happy to hear that we will soon see their programs (I assume this is a normal competition and not a closed one again), I'm still baffled why none of the Chinese skaters where assigned to senior B's.
  11. I''m totally for black seimei!! He would look just like out of a movie with his effortless jumps! This could have massive appeal to non-figure skating fans
  12. Apparently no Senior B's planned for Boyang why?? Ranking points would be helpful ... Especially since whole team china doesn't seem to participate in Senior B's Zijun and Xiangning would GREATLY benefit form doing Senior B's as they are both pretty low in world rankings! Why Chinese fed???
  13. Btw any news on who of the Chinese team will go to Nebelhorn Trophy?
  14. Zijun posted this on her Weibo with the caption: Let's practice together! https://m.weibo.cn/status/4144315146306778 It's an ad of her skating and doing light practices edit: I edited the link since the last one seems to have expired ..
  15. Here you go, this is the link that was shared on GS with Shoma jumping a 4Sal: It looks pretty good! I'd look forward seeing this new quad finding it's place into his programs next season. His strength clearly are his edge jumps!
  16. I'd like to add that that particular 4 lutz is really the strangest jump - Shoma first enters it by skating a straight line backwards (the normal lutz entry), then he suddenly moves direction at about 60 degree to his left and raises his leg to toe pick and get on the outside edge (not normal - normal lutz entry include a straight entry, but OK). Then he changes directions again, this time to his right, because he's now on the inside edge again and picking into the ice. I've never seen such a weird lutz entry ... and then follows what has already been discussed - rotating on his toe pick (pre-rotation), jump, landing. I tried to stop and play his lutz entry to look at when he's taking off and found it totally confusing, that he's changing directions that often. It#s like Yatagarasu said, that's not a lutz anymore but some kind of morph jump ..
  17. You should read the book 'the second mark' before going to sleep. Then you'd be wearing tin-foil hats too.
  18. I do understand that you're not totally again everything I say, but I still think we're not talking about the same thing. I was never an elite skater but I skated and let's assume I flutz regularly. I'd have an unstable, new triple flutz and a stable double flutz. I'd call myself stupid, if I didn't plan and think about which competitions to best add that triple flutz and 'hope for the best' and which not. I wouldn't call that being evil, or shady, but it being a necessity, given that for some reason I'm not able/willing to work on the lutz edge right now. At the same time, I'm not calling Shoma evil or shady, but I predicted which strategy would probably give him the best shot at 'hoping for the best'
  19. Well I apologize if my first post sounded like Shoma was the evil in person and being super shady, which is not what I intended. But that doesn't mean, that I'm back-peddling. I think his strategy of trying to get his pre-rotations and edges overlooked is born out of necessity not evilness, still it requires a strategy to reach this goal and that is what I wrote: We won't see his lutz edge improve this season. We will see him saying that he's trying to improve it. We will see him adding the 4 lutz in practices and senior B's even though he's supposedly working to fix his edge. We'll We will probably see the pre-rotated quad flutz at GPF, Japanese Nationals and Olympics. And it probably won't get called there.
  20. no, I based my predictions on the interview Shoma gave, not just one random video of him. And in that interview Shoma said, that he is training the quad lutz and would like to include it next season. - which my initial reaction was - how is that possible if he wanted to correct his lutz edge this off-season? Then I saw the video with no improved edge and then I wrote what I wrote. And of course I don't think the purposely uses bad technique... I think he has no other choice to use bad technique as he is not willing to change his technique in the olympic season, but wants to skate for gold. So what's left to do? He has to bet on his bad technique to not be called, and the chance is smaller if he at least says that he's working on it even if it's not the case. But I guess you won't believe me and I won't agree with you so let's just wait for the season and see then...
  21. he would be the first to trying to fix his jumping technique and turning out with a quad instead though.. usually it's the opposite - you try to fix your technique, you go back to the roots, jumping double and triple lutzes with an outside edge. You don't start trying to jump a true quad lutz if you're trying to fix the edge ... But maybe shoma is being a novelty here, doing both?
  22. I remember reading on this forum that Shoma wanted to work on his lutz edge during off-season? Please correct me if I'm incorrect here. But if a skater aknowledges and tell people that he is going to work on his shortcomings (something I applaud) but then doesn't show any sign to do it - on the contrary, even upping their game by adding a quad, then I personally conclude that saying so was just a hollow phrase. And it makes perfectly sense, as I would never expect someone to change his jumping technique during the olympic season. But if he goes the way to say so and then show up with no improved edge, but a quad flutz instead, then OF COURSE I kind of feel like he never intended to correct his edge this season in the first place. I don't think Shoma is an evil sheming devil, from what I could see from his personality, he always came off as nice, cute and shy. But I believe what I wrote is just his strategy, including betting on the 4flutz for the olympics by not showing them at the Grand Prix (except the final). I understand that you think this is crazy and paranoid, but let's just postpone this discussion, as time will tell if he indeed will act like I predicted or not.
  23. well I have yet to see one video of him training on correcting his lutz edge after he said last season that he's trying to fix it. Just one video of him jumping a triple lutz with a true edge. Instead I see him jumping a 4flutz, so to me it's kind of obvious that he didn't use much time and energy to correct his edge (which would be kind of unwise to do in the olympic season anyways), but mostly trained the 4flutz as this will bring him points. But excuse me if I don't like shortcuts like this and don't think it should get the same amount one points as really rotated jumps.
  24. Danibellerika just reminded me that GPF will be in shoma's hometown, so yes, I totally agree with you that we'll probably see it at GPF, but I'm willing to bet that he won't get an edge call
  25. I forgot that GPF will be in Japan and he'll be in his hometown .. OK, add GPF to the competitions where we'll see the 4flutz..
