I think that article talks about a lot of Team USA athletes, not only in figure skating ... some apparently made it on the olympic team ... but they sure make it sound like Nathan's FS was so much better than everyone else's, than even though it's his lowest scores since long, he still takes the gold ...

Actually, I've been thinking about Evgenia pulling out of the GPF last week. If she wins it, she is in the same position for the Olympic prestige wise as now. If she looses it to Alina or Wakaba or Osmond, then that would really put a hit on her Olympic chances. There really is no benefit in competing with an injury there. I also think people are right, that the timing of the announcement is weird. I think it has something to do with Skate America and who will then participate at the GPF. But I have no idea, what exactly it should tell us ... I wish everyone who got injured a fast recovery (Evgenia, Hanyu, Javier, Boyang, etc)! They are greatly missed!

I'd also like to remind people not to be too harsh on Lori. True, that Star Wars program isn't a good program, but she did the best anyone could with the Crouching Tiger, Hidden dragon music, which is a hard piece to choreograph to. Also, just look at the sheer number, that Lori choreographed in a short time for the Chinese team: 3 programs for Sui/Han (including their EX, which is a masterpiece too) 2 for Yu/Zhang 2 for Peng/Jin 2 for Boyang 2 for Han Yan 2 for Zijun that's 13 programs!!! and I'd argue, that out of these 13 programs, 5 are very very cleverly choreographed (all 3 of Sui/Han, Peng/Jin's FS, Boyang's SP). Han Yan's both programs suit him a LOT and it's not easy, because although his SS are good, he actually needs a lot of set up time for his jumps and skates a lot on both feet without many Transitions. Zijun also go 2 wonderful programs, the SP is fantastic and I don't know about the FS because we've not seen her skate it fully yet. So I'd give Lori the benefit of the doubt and say it's just statistics, that if you choreograph 13 programs in such a short time, at least one will turn out bad. I don't think she had any ill intentions with Boyang (I mean, who wouldn't like him anyways?) Just think of Carolina's Sheherezade. Lori clearly loves Carolina, not only as a skater but also as a person. Still, after the season Caro head a lot of success with her Bolero FS, Lori choreographed an awful Sheherezade program that Carolina had to ditch during the season because it was so bad. I love this off topic topic 😃 what would I cook for Yuzuru? weeell, since ice-rinks are cold I'd make some kind of Christmas tea adding honey, cinnamon and lemon as for a meal, I'd just cook some of my own favorite dishes, because whenever I travel, I like to taste the local food (as long as it's nothing revolting). I think I'll make my favorite salad, some caramelized asparagus (delicate and refreshing) and then a pumpkin soup (best soup ever) with some nice dark bread and butter^^ I'm not sure whether Yuzuru likes sweet stuff/ desserts. Does anyone know? If he likes them, I'd probably make homemade mango ice-cream (delicate and fresh, too), yum! As for Boyang and Shoma, since they both don't like vegetables and love sweets and meat, I'd do some barbecue with sausages, grilled meat, really good dark bread with lots of different toppings like eggplant-creme, homemade -garlic butter, -bruschetta, -guacamole, as well as some nice salad. As dessert I'd bake a cake or make homemade ice-cream again or buy some 'local' sweets like lindt-chocolate, ginger bread, Mozart marzipan. 😅 I'd love to make some sort of potato/brokkoli or potato/vegetable gratin, just to prove to them that vegetables can taste good, too! Another idea is to let them decorate their own pizza 😃 I believe they'd like that! I wish they'd visit me someday, lol
