  1. well, in the article it says: If the national team needs me ... so it depends on the fed's decision. Han Yan has made clear that he wants to still compete. I guess it depends on his abilities at smaller competitions as well as nats ... with the 2 other boys being at Raf, I don't see the fed giving Han Yan a shot though ... otherwise they would have to admit, that they wasted funding by sending one of these boys abroad .. but who knows, crazier things has happened this off-season...
  2. yes I have noticed too that a lot of skaters are wearing necklaces - Yuzu, Javi, Boyang etc. but I don't know why .. at the same time in general a lot of athletes wear some kind of lucky charms like bracelets and necklaces, so maybe it's just an athlete thing ?
  3. okay guys, why haven't I seen this up until now? (pic 7 is yuzu. but honestly, they are all good): https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/gallery/gurning-glory-winter-olympic-figure-12036089 men's faces while skating
  4. osgood schlatter is a disease that is linked to overtraining at a young age. And if you rest, there is a very very high probability of it healing itself. If you don't, it 99% won't. Draw your own conclusions whether that is OK to do. And of course there are elite training centers out there that put the health of their athletes first and are still very successful internationally. It's the same like with runners. There are some who overtrain when young and then burn out totally at 18. While in my country the coaches are very careful with guiding and building the youngster so they can have a long and fruitful (and successful) career. Alina is a minor. It's the coaches responsibility to tell her to stop if necessary, to teach her when she should push her limits and when not. I don't see Eteri teaching her that. additional: Osgood schlatter is not a stress fracture. it's not a typical disease associated with lack of food.
  5. lol I'm posting this because I think you will all enjoy this: see the girl on the podium? Look at what she's wearing I guess we can say she likes Yuzu!
  6. shoma's new program is out: it's great music - one of the few covers of stairway to heaven that's a great piece musically itself. gives very 'cool' and modern vibe!
  7. yes, Misha seems to be in Qingdao now as posted in his instagramm and he is with Boyang now. I'm confused why Boyang couldn't just have attended misha's summer school at TCC a few days earlier. So confused at what's going on... edit: okay, so misha also posted a picture of wang/wang in qingdao And we know, wang/wang are currently not funded by the national team as they refused to split. And they are in Qingdao. not sure, what it says about Boyang and his current relationship with his fed. Still very confusing.
  8. the video examples for element matches/enhances the music were confusing. Some were not on the beat of the music. Some were. Some didn't enhance the music at all. Please further clarification. Is the bullet point 'good height' relative to body height or absolute? For example Karen Chen is small but jumps big for her height. But she doesn't jump big compared to Kaetlyn. Can she still be considered to have 'very good height'? Why isn't single and pair bullet points applied like in ice dance - building your GOE, instead of being a wishy-washing parts of a bicycle analogy? Can judges give +5 to a spin that travels? and everything ladylou wrote! Thanks!
  9. I could see Brian not having that crap of him being Boyang's coach but not getting listed as Boyangs coach. If he were to feel responsible for Boyang and be his coach long-term, then they have to give him credit as Boyangs coach and nobody else. So puff, Boyang's best chance of improvement vanishes into thin air because the Chinese fed doesn't want to list foreign coaches names as full-time coaches. also this is also pure speculation. at this point everything is possible. There are so many potential reasons. Certain is, it's not visa issues. about yu/zhang: I think they just use Xiaoyu 's injury as an excuse to why not put her or Hao change's names on the list. In an interview last season, Hao Zhang was asked whether he will aim to another Olympics (in 2022). He replied: Eeeeeehhhhhrm, we'll see. So chances are high there is reason to worry about them retiring.
  10. are boyangs Chinese coaches still listed?
  11. yu/zhang is not on the list ... first indication Hao Zhang will retire and who knows what'll happen to Xiaoyu Yu.. this mess ... what about the coaches? are boyang's coaches names still on the list?
  12. whatever it is, I still have hope that it'll get sorted out as we haven't heard any official statement from either .. great. now I'm so agitated that I can't sleep.
  13. nope. they posted and announced everything about Wang/Liu going to Montreal and He Zhang and another junior going to Raf. Never officially announced that Boyang is going to TCC.
  14. I don't know about Lori but David has stated in past interviews, that out of a personal codex, he would never mingle with another choreographers work. Never seen a TSL skater skate to Lori's choreography, too. But like we both said, their speculation often doesn't turn out to be true so there is a high probability that there're other factors playing in ...
  15. first that crazy injury prone season with one skater injured every week, now this insane off-season with some mind-blowing news every week... this emotional rollercoster ride ...
  16. well they also did speculate that Brian is saying this to get more ground and leeway about the training plan of Boyang, so that it's him who can decide everything. TSL speculation has not proven to be very reliable though. Their inside info on the other hand are mostly true, so there seem to be some problems about Boyang coming ...
  17. yes it sounded like they were speculating that Brian wanted to give Boyang very intense artistic guidance and now can't because David Wilson is not going to polish the work of Lori and Lori also doesn't want someone else to mingle with her work. Sounded like Chinese fed just send Boyang to get choreography from Lori and it never crossed their mind to inform Brian about it or ask for his input. But Brian already had other plans for Boyang, so now he's saying, Boyang is not coming. this is pure speculation though. And I hope whatever it is, they can still work it out ..
  18. the ice dance video is so much better. no it's just a guideline nonsense. clear instructions and the two woman are funny and entertaining. if only the single and pair video had the same quality..
  19. finally watched it and I quote: ' Translation: These new +-5GOE bullet points are a guideline. So powerful fed skaters or whoever you want can still receive high GOE easily and small fed skaters may tick off all bullet points but you still don't have to give them high GOE. translation: give your own skaters less deduction for the same mistakes than other skaters. translation: this video was totally pointless, just judge the way you judged before adjusted to the +-5GOE and don't be afraid, nothing is going to change. edit: sorry, I just realized I should've probably posted this in another thread ... sorry to be off topic! congrats to yuzuru to be included in the example videos!
  20. yes I saw that one, too and that women commentator may say wonderful things about wakaba but I can't understand her and in contrast to TAT her voice is inconveniently down-to-earth
  21. do we have a nbc, cbc or Tat commentary youtube or dailymotion link to wakaba's worlds FS? I re-watched the B.Eurosport version ad nauseum and would like to hear what other commentators thought of her FS ..
  22. thanks for the Zijun updates! great to hear she was doing fine! these past days have been hard on her (her dog was poisend) well I don't read Baidu so I know nothing of their fan wars but I find it strange that the junior men are already in the US with Raf, wang/liu are already in montrreal, while Boyang isn't in Canada. So I don't think it's a political issue about whether Chinese skaters are allowed to train abroad or a visa issue this time. I also don't think Boyang is refusing or delaying to go himself, because that would be a huge faux pax and in the past he never had a problem to travel to Lori's rink in Toronto which is like a few km apart from the TCC rink. I also don't think he is injured because he was seen training and nothing is indicating this. so there are not many options left - something must have happened that led to the change of plans. and the fed delaying his training for promo events or at least the fed being the one who delays things for one reason or the other sounds just like something they would do we'll see...
  23. I didn't insult them out of nowhere but based on past actions. how they treated their skaters - Han Yan and Zijun. I don't think anyone can seriously say that they are not incompetent. From how they never managed to politick successfully to how internal politics always lead to illogical decisions that was not beneficial to the skaters. it's like saying Didier is corrupt - nobody can seriously say that he isn't and saying so is not some fan based speculation. they don't owe us anything but they stated that boyang will be in Canada in June which didn't happen. they were supposed to announce the national teams which they didn't. expecting them to say something is not asking for that much. It's so typical for them to just keep silent when faced with questions. it was like this when Zijun was taken off the world team list and it was like this when the pair's switch happened and it was like this when Han Yan announced his retirement and then deleted his post and it was also like this when it was rumoured that they wanted to split Wang/Liu. I've seen it again and again. saying they are dumb and incompetent is the nicest way of putting it ... Sure, they sometimes do nice things for skaters but most of the news we get coming from them is negative news. If they want to be treated with respect then they should treat their skaters better. I don't see why I should act like they are great and give them the benefit of the doubt if they don't deserve it through their past actions. And calling for an answers is also benefiting the skaters. They have to learn that they can't just treat skaters like they own them, discarding them as they wish and nobody notices it.
  24. Chinese fans are going crazy and no comment from boyang or the fed? Zhang He is already at Raf's but they couldn't manage visas for boyang? Brian said boyang will arrive in June and now no comments from Brian about Boyang? I think there is reason to worry. if it's visa Brian could just say so or Boyang in one of his streams. But no sight of that. hopefully he is not injured or anything else ... but since people are saying that he is training, that's unprobable. My guess is the fed messed with his schedule and who knows what they think. People forget that they are not only incompetent but also dumb... You saw Zijun? How was she looking? Was she in competitive shape? what did she do? Could you please share ?
