  1. Hi everyone! We moved all posts about Shoma's coaching change to this thread: We'll have more discussions about this topic in the next months too so it'd better if everything stays in one thread, instead of two (we let two posts in this thread for general information). If you'd like to post anything related to Shoma's coaching change, please do it in the thread above. Thank you.
  2. He could stay until mid-July and would have one month until mid-August to go to other camps. But after reading this statement I think there's a good chance he could stay in Sambo after he's done with his choreographies and shows in the end of August/beginning of September.
  3. Russian federation released a statement about Shoma. He'll arrive this week (maybe they mean early next week?) to Moscow and will stay there for over a month, 'after which further plans will be discussed'. https://fsrussia.ru/news/4411-shoma-uno-provedet-letnij-sbor-v-gruppe-eteri-tutberidze.html
  4. I think he was talking about spin and StSq levels when he mentioned difficulty, he did say BV and GOE would count. With less spins and jumps, and no levels, artistic program could have more interesting spins or step sequences but if they continue the judging like it is now, skaters would risk adding their most difficult jumps anyway, if that'd be the only way they could get more points. In the end of the day, BV would count the most and we know where that could lead if they don't apply GOEs and the components fairly. What really counts is how well the judges are trained and how objective they are while they doing their job - accountability of the judges is also very important and if that doesn't change in the next years then I don't think there'll be any major changes in judging, no matter what the rules are.
  5. It's the latter. Lakernik talked about it in this interview, I translate the relevant part: These are just ideas so we we'll see what the final decision will be but at least - as of now - it's the direction they aim for.
  6. The whole list will be published on ISU's website, their twitter and FB.
  7. Sambo didn't really deny anything, they just declined to comment on the matter a few days ago, so I felt a summer camp was coming... It'll be interesting how things turn out for him. I still think he'll go to a North American coach or maybe stays in Japan.
  8. I'm looking forward to Rika Hongo's free skate, it sounds really promising. I liked most of her programs in the past few years. Now that she'll also choreograph for Shoma, it seems so. It's her busiest year so far.

  11. He had shows together with Yuzu, he was at FaOI until 2017 and he also did Heroes and Future last year. I think Shoma is just busy with other shows (he's doing SOI, PIW, All That Skate, The Ice and Friends on Ice this season), so he doesn't have time for FaOI. Makuhari on TV Asahi
  12. I don't think Shoma speaks any English, he doesn't even understand much I think. The federation could send an interpreter with him, that wouldn't be the biggest issue.
  13. Now it's clear that Jack talked about Shoma a few weeks ago in that mysterious tweet. I don't think it's professional how he handles the situation as a journalist. I hope it's Mishin, too and not Tutberidze.
  14. This is the biggest surprise of this (boring) off season so far. Shoma didn't want to leave his coaches before but last season's struggles probably convinced him that he needed a coaching change. He may stay in Japan but I think there's more chance that he goes to train abroad. Maybe to the US. Next season will be difficult for him with new new coaches and - if he doesn't stay in Japan - in a completely new environment too.

This is the event for All That Skate 2019. The discussion thread can be found here.
  16. List of competitors are published on the event page after the entry deadline - which is 30 days before the competition. Some skaters announce their participation before that. For example last season Yuzu's participation at ACI was announced in the end of July.
  17. Lee Kyu-hyun? He choreographed most of Yelim's SPs so far and also one of her free programs. I am looking forward to her free program by Jeff. I agree with @Sombreuil that she might be a bit too young for performing Black Swan.
  18. It takes places in Finland in October, and it's one of the Challenger events. Yuzu also competed there twice, in 2012 and 2013. He won both events (Finland is really a lucky place for him!) You can find more info about the upcoming event here: https://www.finlandiatrophy.com/en/
  19. Huh, it sounds serious. I hope he gets better soon!
  20. I'm going to miss her beautiful skating skills and beautiful jumps very much. Good luck to her in the civil life!
  21. Maybe no one would realise they are different songs
  22. It's cut but it sounds very similar. I started to listen to Dion's hit songs from the first part of the 1990s but I quickly realised all her songs sounds the same So I gave it up... Someone commented it may be It's All Coming Back to Me Now and it really sounds like that. Loena skated to this song last season...
