yes yes and yes - I think that being grateful and optimistic and mostly okay has put me in a place where I know that I am luckier than most but still really need help. I cannot tell you how distressing it is to go to my son's dad;s house for Christmas dinner, in a million dollar home (the rack of lamb was great though-) and see the photos, nicelky frames of the weddings and the safari. It's the safari that particularly gets me. Chris' step mom has been helpful to me in her way - suggesting impossibke ways to get a job and also coming to help after the surgery and checking in on me - but the safari photos, all nicely framed just kill me. How much did they spend for 8 EIGHT of them to go on a three and four week safari(s)? I can only imagine. I'm happy Chris had the experienece of a month in Africa and seeing all the animals and staying at the luxe places but it completely makes me nuts to think of how a portion of the money soent on that would, could make my life free of the financial stress I'm under. I makes me crazy - so I try not to think about it but the framed photos got me. So trying to write, or work on writing, a go fundme appeal that is honest and real and not sounding as pathetic as I feel.. HOw do you practice writing it? I don't even know where to start. And i have to ask Chris if he would post it - would Lexie post it - there are people out there who would help who I don't know and they don't know, but if they would post the appeal, ut would have legs. I'm almost afraid to ask. BUt will. (trhey didn't get back to the house until after 3 so... and I swear, just what they spend on wine would supppport me) Time to get out for the mandatory walk. The 'poor taste' thing - I'm not surprised that Barbara is hearing this, based on what she's told me about some of the circles she (and especially her daughter-in-law) moves in. Without getting overly political about it, there's a whole class of people in North American society who refuse to acknowledge the idea that sometimes, through no fault of their own, people need help. 2. @Faithyu is right - you shouldn't have to ask... people should be asking you if you need help 3. This is a problem that exists because there's no universal healthcare in the US.... 'nuff said. 4. Whether someone helps out a friend in need, or not, has very little to do with their material means, and way more to do with their mindset. People who consider it bad taste have a) never had to face a difficult situation themselves where they're left between a rock and a hard place and therefore lack complete empathy or b) have faced a difficult moment and they had no one to turn to to ask for help for xyz reason so they're unfortunately, bitter and hate it when other people get the help that they needed in the past. Eitherway, they should be ignored. During this time, I have come to learn that people who know you, are more than willing to help if they can if you're honest about how bad things are. People who I've worked with over 7 years ago while at Booking.com have chipped in and I might have had 5 non-work related conversations with them in total. And I will also be forever grateful to them, including the people in here who have helped me out 💜 I'd say create a Go Fund me, Barbara. Ask people to share it on their socials and get the ball rolling. Especially your son who must have an interesting network in his line of work. You have the advantage of the US being massive. I've seen other campaigns based in there, and could see how much easier it actually is for people in need to get donations there. The only thing it takes is to get the ball rolling with a few $5 donations and the rest will come as long as you keep sharing. Hell, I have seen people with TSW there getting their $5k and more to go to Thailand for CAP treatment. That's easier said than done. Sometimes they want to offer but their own situation doesn't allow it. My dad has offered to help, and he has sent me some money but I can't leech off of him anymore than this because I know how difficult it is to just gather £50 for him being in Argentina. Of course, most of Barbara's family is in the US (I assume), but if the relationship is not there or their financial situation isn't good for them either, then there is no point in speaking up and it ends up being more of a guilty feeling for her than relief of finally getting some breathing room. Mine is still ongoing. There have definitely been some up and downs. Not so much because of writer's block but more because of life kicking me in the ovaries, like now. I want to finish it. Now that I have all this time while I'm applying to jobs I need to give it a real go. It's always been kind of a dream to earn a living as a writer. Back in school I always used to get full scores when we had to write something for our Literature classes and I even made my professor cry once when I read the story out loud to the class. Proudest moment of my life 😂 Keep working on those stories of yours. For me, writing while I posted at the same time has helped me make it an actual responsibility. Especially with all the kudos and comments I would get. They hype one up and it makes you want to keep on writing for the 5 souls who leave comments lol

And I just watched the sbs gayo performances. Yeonjun slayed his performance but I think there was something wrong with their in ears or mics during the group performance..... Anyway, that's not really my "concern". It's more that I hope they did a comeback spoiler with the trophy and the crown and it was not meant as a spoiler for a potential kingdom series.... Cause after seeing that Ateez performed their legendary wonderland stage, which they did during kingdom, my brain went into full alert modus. I tried searching for it and couldn't find if there are plans for a new season next year, but if there are and TXT takes part - I will scream, and not in a good way. This show is for rookie groups or groups that aren't that well known and hope for a bigger reach. So please, let it just be a comeback spoiler......
