I actually enjoy Twilight kind of, so it's not that I dislike it bc it's a horrible movie (it IS a horrible movie but I have a sentiment for it, it's kind of guilty pleasure for me). I just think it's very shallow and uninteresting music. I personally feel it's much easier to make a "show" to music such as this and it's not really seen as challenging and difficult. Or maybe it's not that, but I feel that the choreo can be made very cheesy and very horrible to this piece easily. And Danil isn't the greatest choreographer to be honest. I mean ofc I have to see the program first, but seeing the EX I am very worried. As for you can't pack all the stupid Twilight shit in a FS program just wait. If he can shamelessly steal, copy and butcher music cuts, I would not underestimate his ability to make this program as hideous as possible

As for Trusova shockingly, I like it! I feel like the music suits her and although I would maybe like to see something else from her, rather than another 'badass' music choice, I think it's pretty ok for her senior debut.

But... Trusova's music isn't "badass". It's a Muse Matt Bellamy ballad one part and some slow generic piano/strings on the other part. Don't take me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Muse and Matt Bellamy wailing but I'm afraid it'll be "generic Danny G" program, like Polina Tsurskaya's Game of Thrones program. That one was as far from badass as it can get.

The Twilight program is supposed to consist of Muse's Supermassive Black Hole which has a modern alt rock sound and isn't as ballady, and Blue Foundation Eyes on Fire which is moody mid-tempo modern uh, pop? alt pop?

Anyway, I think music choices for Alena give more opportunity to build an intersting program.

Though, yea, it's Daniil we're talking about, he can just as well pick the most boring parts of the songs and have Alena mime a sparkly vampire or something.:smiley_hairpull:

Alena: Well, this is Daniil after all. This will be bad anyway.

He's not the most talented choreographer but everyone does something good at least once. Seriously, all his programs are bad? Even departure, adios noninos or stella that he did for Alena? Or A comme amour for Shcherbakova, black swan for Zagitova or even Einaudi for Tarakanova?

Maybe those programs were not excellent, but i don't think they were bad.

Anyway, i hope that Alena's programs will be at least watchable. She needs strong PCS to expect to finish in top 2 at her GPs.

Yes, I think Daniil isn't good choreographer. Additionally, currently overworked. Imo his programs are okayish at best (like Alina's Don Quixote) but most of the time... not.:noshake: With bad music cuts. Or voice-overs. Or useless sound effects. With a lot of rising leg for short spirals or high kicks or leg swinging to keep skaters busy.

But quality of your programs doesn't matter when you have Eteri listed as your coach. Plus Alena sold to people that horrible R&J, she can do anything.

Plus IdF is quite easy. She might even win this. Then podium (or even win) at NHK and actual fight will be at GPF. GPF placements will decide team for Euros and Worlds and only meltdown at RusNats (or then Euros) might change it. Everything is in her hands. Really don't know why people are so worried about her (outside of her latest injury, of course).

Tell that to Tsurskaya for example who didn't get high PCS at her first GP despite giving the best performances of the competition.

And maybe Daniil is not a good choreographer but he is not a dunce of choreography. No one is at this level. I dislike most of Wilson and Ge's programs (generic and boring) but i can concede that they do good programs sometimes.

I think with Polina it was a bit different. It was olympic season and RusFed was too much focused on pushing Medo before Pyeongchang. Then they announced that Medo is injured, Alina was mostly landing her stuff and qualified to GPF, meanwhile Polina started to struggle and wasn't at GPF and later we know what happened. Sad memories.
So again, qualifying to GPF is crucial, but IdF is relatively easy for Alena.

Of course, I might be wrong.

And agree about DW and Ge.

Well, a proof that you don't just need Eteri as your coach to get high PCS.

I think Danil is a bad choreographer. All the good parts of his choreos are just stolen parts of other people's work (just like Alina's Don Quixote). So I can imagine him making Alena mimic a shining Edward, I can imagine all kind of horrors. From all Eteri students programs I'm kind of most excited for Alina which is quite shocking.

Also I am super looking forward to Liza + Shae combo. I want to see it!

Aside from all of that, apparently Romain Ponsart is doing the greatest showman. I am so done with tgs.
