I couldn't be happier with this news! Although I haven't been living there for a few years, I'm originally from Finland, so it's nice to have an excuse to go back. My family's not from Helsinki but maybe I can squeeze in some time to see them too :D Already bought tickets, glad they weren't sold out! I also thought it might be easy enough to re-sell them in case something comes up and I can't make a weekend escape to Finland in October (although I will do my best to fight such obstacles!).

What do you mean by tickets? The tickets for Finland GP haven't been released yet?

Yeah the name is too similar! Really stupid mistake to make :D I am super annoyed now because there is no easy way to cancel your ticket, don't want to just resign to losing the money I paid..

Yeah ticket websites have a tendency to be the worst so I think they expect me to call a number that costs 2€/minute + extra fees from calling internationally... I tried sending them an email though, hope they can show a bit of understanding (preparing for the worst, spending like 30€ just to not lose even more money though xd). Oh well, this will teach me some reading comprehension!! Feel soooo stupid now.

Anyway so ticket sales only begin in August.. that is so late! But at least I will have time to make back the money I just lost :D Seriously though, I wonder if they will sell out lightning-fast. Should have been suspicious with this Finlandia Trophy precisely because there was so much availability.. I just kind of thought "oh well, maybe Finland is just too remote for many people", but realistically speaking they might sell out really fast. Like someone pointed out, Helsinki is linked to Japanese cities via direct flights so...

For lone traveller, I usually aim for city with good transport network (good subway lines or small city that can be covered by foot). Between Moscow and Helsinki, which is better?

although based on work schedule, Moscow is easier for me to apply leave....

I've never been to Moscow and I'm biased as a Finnish person, but I would say Helsinki is probably easier because it is multiple times smaller. It has a subway and municipal rail that connects all the main neighbourhoods, there is a nice tram system overground - although public transport is not as frequent as in bigger cities, it's reliable enough and there should be no problem getting where you need to be. And as for walking, the center is not that big and is very walkable. Traffic is safe and the city is generally well organised so it's easy to navigate.
