Yes, the easy to digest part is what I was first thinking of there. I know an athlete who swears by them for that reason, it is super easy on the stomach, there's no feeling of fullness or heaviness, yet you get all you need. I just call them energy drinks because I am lazy

Plus, we always see Yuzu drinking that orange stuff, so I think he is similar to that athlete you know and he likes drinks best instead of real food when he is skating.

Lombardia entries are up. We'll have a proper event thread closer to the time of the event of course but thought I'd leave the info here as well, as we'll be seeing properly for the first time this season some very interesting names, and that's right before Yuzuru himself goes out at ACI.

Shoma, D10, Deniss, Petrov (will be curious to see him in Seniors), Majorov and Jason Brown, so should be a nice few days for us all before the big event.

Everyone's 4lutzing... no wonder zuzu is a bit meh about it

Someone pointed out Keegan Messing and Conrad Orzel are also trying to add it. So yeah, so many skaters trying it out it looks like lol.

Makes me wonder why the 4Lz is the go-to quad after the 4T. It seems like there are even more skaters attempting the 4Lz than the 4S. Or is it just because trying the 4Lz gets more buzz going?

Doesn't it get the most BV apart from axel? Guess if you had to choose between trying to train the 4S and 4Lz, you may as well try and get a handful more BV hmm..

It's supposedly the most difficult though. I'm starting to wonder now in terms of difficulty if it really is. But I guess it's different for various skaters. I guess many are just finding it easier lately to add the 4Lz.

I feel like someone showing a 4Lz is actually achievable makes a huge difference (cheers Boyang). Tbh I think it isn't so much 'easier' to land the 4Lz as they feel like they should train to land it, and so they focus all their attention on perfecting the 4Lz (in terms of short term gain, it's worth more to train the 4Lz than the 4S). Have there been a lot of people who have both or have a lot of quads? (I'm not up to date w/ their layouts)

Yeah, I think Boyang showing that it's possible started all this. To be fair, before it was 4S and 4T (i.e., "Javi" era). I just thought many of the new quadsters would focus more on the 4S first than the 4Lz. I'm thinking 4S isn't such big news anymore, which could mean less skaters are trying it first, or they're still trying it first but it doesn't make it to the news anymore lol.

Nah, I think...at the end of the day they're also teenage boys. Now they know the 4Lz is possible, they definitely would want to go for the biggest, flashiest jump with the most points  I think a lot of them are skipping 4S to go straight for 4Lz tbh, but 4S is pretty normalised now so definitely possible it's just not really making the news. The girls on the other hand...so many 4S being rumoured right now among the juniors o _ o

So can we expect to see the shock factor of 4Lz lessen next season? Maybe less "shocked" scoring from the judges? Lol!

It's not only the BV, toe jumps are usually quicker to stabilize than edge jumps. And since everyone is racing against the clock to add quads, no wonder many choose to spend their time on the 4Lz the moment they see it as a possibility *shrugs*

yeah, which is why it's not even that fair that Loop and Salchow are not considered 'hard quads' anymore. But I guess I have a bias for edge jumps. I like them more.

I know what you mean- I like toe jumps that are subtle- with Yuzuru you hardly notice the use of the toe pick - some skaters really whack that pick in and you feel sorry for the ice crew
