Oh, I'm sure he's considering the 4Lz even if he says he isn't. I just wonder if he'll test the waters on the 3-quads in second half at ACI with or without it.

That I'm not sure of. If we go by that sanspo translation

“I’m able to jump [4Lz] and practice is going fairly well, but I’m not considering it for now. I’ll [first] settle everything nicely with the current layout.”

Might be he will try the sans Lz version first. But on the other hand, even though I am certain the Lz will stabilize faster and easier for him than the Lo, there is a limited number of competitions pre-Nationals, and he has to test-drive it too. So he can only postpone for a limited time (not to mention that I am sure he wants another GPF victory and might even need it, considering the momentum necessary for the Olympics).

Currently, I still think he'll start the season off with the Lz in the FS.

where he places the 4lz (it might go second half for all we know).

Nah. While I fully expect to see it, if it shows up it is either the first or the second jump. No matter how good or confident he feels, a new jump won't go to the second half when he's tired. That is unnecessary risk. Old, stable jumps will go back.

I don't expect him to bring it out at ACI....if anything I'd expect him to wait to see Nathan's layout or results from the US skate classic (might have spelled name wrong) before he rips it open. It might also be that right now he hasn't quite pinned down the choreography and steq sequences etc that he'll use to bridge the first and second half, and that would influence how and where he places the 4lz (it might go second half for all we know).

He might also keep an eye out for Shoma at Lombardia, which is earlier than ACI.

Count me in the "4Lz is alive and well" club, too. I still believe Yuzuru's keeping his cards close to his chest while working on stabilizing the jump further and waiting to see how the season starts for everyone, but the 4Lz is still very much in the race :winky: sorry, dear, but that "3A as a contingency plan" sounds suspicious

ha ha ha ha 6 Quads? :tumblr_inline_ncmifiE3IT1rpglid: can't say I will enjoy the splat fest possibilities that came with it

Well, he already attempted 6 at Worlds. So the 6-quad layout with 2x4Lz and 2x4F he planned there is probably a go again, with the possibility of a 3/5 distribution instead of the 4/4. And I'm betting on at least a backloaded 4F in the SP (his SP starts with the 3A so at least one quad will be backloaded for sure). Nathan bringing the BV game. His SP, at least, I'm sure will be positively received in terms of PCS. I enjoyed the snippets I watched a lot.

He said he's going with the most hardest program.... basically he's going for the BV. Now where's Boyang :tumblr_inline_ncmifdw7151rpglid:

BTW, when are Nathan and Boyang's first competitions of the season?

Boyang I'm not sure but Nathan is doing US International, which is also before Yuzu and Javi's ACI.

I now feel unimpressed by 6 quads, after all the discussion of the possibility of 7

"just put on as hard a program as I can" Different strategies then.Though I can't help saying that... he's got the privilege to do it without being hurt partly because of his federation.

Nathan's betting it all on his quads, we knew that. Question is if he'll manage to deliver under Olys pressure, because if he does the PCS will follow as we all know and his monster BV will definitely make him a podium candidate.

It's going to come down to stamina and mental strength, for him.
