The funny thing is that I'd expect people who benefit from the system to claim that judges are correct. At least pretend that their own score is right to legitimize results. But if all is subjective, how is a judge's "opinion" supposed to be any more relevant than that of a random watcher? This is just depressing...

Oh trust me, I stumbled upon something worse from him last night, and it wasn't only him (along with other culprits such as Joe Johnson, Ashley Wagner, and a journo I didn't bother to remember the name of :v). They held a chat session that can be publicly viewed, and on the first time I saw the screenshots shared on twitter I thought it was some parody edit of sorts — turned out it's the real sh!t. I just...

:yuck:

Anyhow, said yucky chat session. WARNING! INCENDIARY CONVO CONTENT, YOU'VE BEEN DULY WARNED!

The thing that I don't understand is: why these people continue to feed this controversy when the most logical thing to do would be to keep quiet and wait for the storm to pass?

When they talk about it, commenting with certain questionable opinions, they only make the situation worse. You're not a journalist or whatever, you're not forced to talk about it, so don't compromise yourself.

Stating your opinion on anything you can possibly think of is a national sport in North America after all, no?

These people really make me worry as in, I can no longer ignore it for a moment and pretend that it doesn't affect the skaters I care most much... about the future of judging and integrity in FS... :animated-smileys-angry-041::sigh:

The funny thing (not funny at all) is that speaking in this way of TR, SS, and PCS in general, they delegitimize the skaters (P. Chan, J. Brown etc.) that they used for YEARS to fight against the "quad revolution"; then even Patrick's PCS were subjective??? Because up until yesterday you were saying the opposite......What a mess:tumblr_inline_ncmifiE3IT1rpglid: what happened to their logic???

There are technical rules! Even the athlete, the coach involved can say something like that without guilt or fear? 😰

I feel that the US/ISU is trying to make and spread some news (or propaganda?) to degrade... I'm not sure. angry and sad

By the way, in Italy we say: if you pull the rope too much it snaps....and they are pulling it too much  they are trying too hard to create a new "phenomenon" skater, but it isn't something that can be created "artificially", you cannot tell people what they should like

Agree, but I'm afraid that the judging will be worse by the "efforts" of the in-group. They don't even cover these things up.

Then what about other skaters? Will they learn from the winner? 😠

Frankly...in the last weeks I read things that let me think I have chosen a wrong sport to follow and to like.

Sentences like “Underrotations are in the eye of the beholder" from a source, or "GOE's most certainly are subjective. As well as transitions and skating skills. The effectivity of both can truly only be felt, not quantified" from you-know-who-now and again from another source ""Proper" PCS scoring (a primarily subjective thing anyways) is never going to happen" are really depressing and disheartening. They are from hardcore fans, specialised journalists ex elite skaters.

And I don't want to take in consideration what actually is the situation about selective edges and URs calls...

So, I understand this: if you barely rotate something and stay on your feet in the landings, while looking confident and smiling (or winking !) to the judges at the right moment and if you choose a music with no sense and no story to you/you can actually feel, but that can seem generally 'cool' to the majoirity of 'western' judges, you can be all right...no you can be a champion. What is this...? This is a bad travesty of the 6.0 era (at least at the time they were lesser hypocritical!).
