Don't remember who asked whether or not Yuzu has a delayed rotation in his 4Lz.

Watching this from this angle-yes, it seems he does. He doesn't really get into rotation until he's pretty much at peak height on his jump. So that was what Brian was telling him eh-get up first, start rotating only as he closes in on the peak of his jump height. Man, how high does his jump have to be that he needs to delay his rotation initiation to control his landing?

I'm probably late to the discussion (and I haven't actually been able to keep up with this thread so sorry if someone has said this already) but my impression is that Yuzu pops on purpose in practices.

His pattern has been: rotated but iffy landing -> series of pops -> one perfect Lutz and stop. (Only today he skipped the iffy landing and went straight into pops lol)

He did say before that he pops when he feels that he will fall on a jump and I think he's also been doing it to prevent iffy landings and prevent injury on his knee. Idk if that leads to habits but knowing that he's probably doing it to spare his knee I'm ok with all the pops lately (Although I do hate pops, they give me ptsd)

Anyway! Yuzu will be fine

eta: I forgot to add my point (watching Yuzu live has been decreasing my ability to focus)

If he is really able to control his pops he will most probably rotate his Lz/Lo in compeition even if he falls or has to save the landing

Somehow I can feel it but just want to confirm myself that this is the definition of delayed rotation? It seems that Yuzu starts his second rotation when he is on the peak of his jump height.

Too nervous and I started watching Gymnastics...Blame the tumblr link which has both yuzu and gymnastics...

For delayed jumps and what it means, just refer to the lovely single axel that Yuzu did in Notte Stellata. Pretty much, no rotations until he's at the peak of the jump (or close to it in the case of baby 4Lz).
