March 30, 20233 yr It was so great to see POTO again 🥹 Yuzu’s interpretation of it is my all time favorite, I could never get tired of watching it. I think it’s amazing that he wants to perfect it even more now!

The moment when he spreads his arms on layback ina bauer is overwhelming. Which 4T? Is it from the competitions of 2014-2015 season?

March 30, 20233 yr Quote Which 4T? Is it from the competitions of 2014-2015 season? Yes. In the 2014-2015 season Yuzu wanted to open the second half of the program with the 4T+2T combination, but at the Cup of China there was the incident that we all know and for the rest of the season he was never healthy enough to try to do three quadruples in the same program. He had to postpone that layout to the 2015-2016 season and to SEIMEI (even if in SEIMEI he did 4T+3T, and put the 2T in a combination with the 3A). He did that 4T on 14 February 2022 in the first free practice in Beijing, but it was practice, with no audience beyond the rink staff. In GIFT he tried to do that 4T, but after Ashura-chan he was tired and put his hands on the ice. This time he completed the 4T perfectly. True, he didn't skate the first minute of the program, with 4S, 4T and 3F, but in shows it's quite rare to see an entire free skate. And none of the other skaters came close to the quality of what he did.

I watched old competitions many times but still I am not really well at paying attention to details it seems. From the videos, I only remember Kurt Browning saying that Yuzuru's GPF free skate is one of the best free skates and it is despite a fall and there is also a possible 3rd quad which will come later. So, I finally understand what possible 3rd quad is thanks to your explanations.

There are some other lovely jewels but they are not the same outstanding gems. Yuzu has even surpassed his competitive past self, perhaps as a result of shedding the constrictive yoke of competitive programme layouts in terms of both time constraints and compulsory elements. Yuzu making his entrance as the Firebird or symbolic rebirth as the Phoenix is the transition to another level. Yuzu has evolved and has somehow transformed into something even more spectacular, not just skating but his mind set seems to have expanded or he is free to express his intelligence and ideas. Yuzu seems to radiate energy now. Well said
