If GP assignments are dropping tomorrow, and he's holding a press con later tomorrow, I'm speculating that he's expecting questions regarding the assignments. That can mean anything though:

• He's skipping the GP this season
• He's taking a break this season. Many others have already said they are doing it: NC, Vincent, P/C, S/H, Jason
• He's only going to one GP and doesn't want 2 assignments
• He's r****, but @SuzyQ didn't think it would be worded like that in the notice

Anyway, don't mind me, I'm just rambling some thoughts.

Why is none of the options "I'll do my very best this season too and aim for 4A" 

Here's more of fantasy skating championship.

 

Yuzu will announce that he has perfected the 4A. He learned from his 9yo self to determine the axis and entry into the jump is conventional, not his signature back counter. Following Nanami Sensei's advice, he did not forget his beginner's mind. 

 

Yuzu will have to compete in an ISU competition for the 4A to be ratified.

( JNats does not count as it's not ISU comp )

 

People have often asked the question, did Brian know what a phenomenon Yuzu would become. Brian most certainly recognised talent, but Nanami Sensei and Tsusuki Sensei they knew. Which is why it was Nanami Sensei

Who advised Yuzu to seek a training placement abroad. It was she who knew the phenomenal talent that Yuzu would become. That is why under her encouragement, Nanami Sensei let him go to flourish elsewhere, instead of selfishly trying to keep Yuzu's glory to herself. She was and still is a truly inspirational teacher.

in my opinion, r*ment is kind of out of question after all the things happened last month. New blade, The determination to land 4A in front of everyone, the way he keep learning new things (e.g dance? new genre?) but again it's yuzuru we don't know what is his plan....

The timing is off and he’s never really held a press conference before assignments, not that I remember so I hope it’s not what we think it is but I don’t think I can sleep properly tonight. I’ll have to rearrange my work schedule so I can go home early and cry or be happy about this at home tomorrow. Hoping it’s the latter

That would be the best option for sure! But he's never called a press con for something like that before. 

 

Tbh, I think it would do him good to skip the GP. His ankle wasn't fully healed when he did FaOI, and giving it more time to heal without the pressure of the GPs might be best.

 

Also, I don't know how Challengers work, but maybe he can go to one of those instead of the GP? That would give us an opportunity to see him.

It could be anything but leaving figure skating. As long as he continues to skate and stays healthy, I feel blessed.
