It'd be perfect just like Chopin, that piece has the same softness and yet burning passion in the central passage... something in between Chopin and H&L, actually, in terms of delicacy and difficulty... He'd be like a dream dancing in front of your eyes... Let's go take over the music thread. It's getting close to off-season and discussing next season (because of course he'll continue next season) will be strangely soothing during these weeks. Plus, I want to try to envision him doing a tango, like assassin's tango or tango de roxanne. Link to comment

xeyra
So it's confirmed, as suspected. Now the question is... what layout will he use, then, without the 4Lz... Link to comment
CupidsBow
Likely a good decision. It's not like his layout without it isn't still ambitious. I do wonder tho, will he go for a 4lo, 4s, 4t, and one more quad in combination with two 3a or have combos for the 4s and 4t and just one 3a... I think I'd rather he went for 4 quads and two 3as because it's something he's already done clean? Which would help in having the confidence to pull it off again... Guess we'll just have to see. Not long to go now. EDIT: JINX! @xeyra Link to comment

Not long to go now. Or he could do the layout he had at the summer media day. Still 5 quads so the BV is close enough, but with his more stable quads. Though....there's a part of me that still wont' believe it until Yuzu shows up on ice. Also, what if he goes for 4Lz in SP? o_O Link to comment

xeyra
Layout possibilities with pros and cons: H&L layout 4Lo 4S 3F // 4S3T 4T 3A2T 3A1Lo3S 3Lz - BV: 103.43 Pros: Familiarity. Already went clean or clean-ish with 4-quads 3 times last season. Cons: Jump combos may not fit music as well. Heavier re-shift in layout and will need to re-shift again if he brings 4Lz for Worlds. 4-quad Seimei 2.0 layout: 3Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T1Lo3S 4T 3A2T 3A - BV: 103.66 Pros: Very, VERY, slight BV increase over H&L. More familiarity on this layout this season, only replacing a 4Lz for a 3Lz Cons: Starting with a 3Lz may not give him the concentration required for the rest of the program. Pop may ensue? 5-quad Summer layout 4Lo 4S 3F // 4S3T 4T1Lo3S 4T(2T) 3A(2T) 3Lz - BV: 105.41 Pros: Higher BV than a 4-quad layout and he has already trained this layout at some point. Cons: ONE, only ONE 3A. Plus more stamina (and ankle) intensive. Edit: H&L layout alternatives 4Lo 4S 3F // 4S3T 4T1Lo3S 3A2T 3A 3Lz 4Lo 4S 3F // 4S3T 3A1Lo3S 4T(2T) 3A(2T) 3Lz Link to comment
Katt
I read the news and it didn't quote Brian directly so I would like to wait more reports from another sources. But I won't surprise if this is true ( and a wise decision IMO). If he indeed take out the 4lz I think he will go back to H&L layout since that 5quad 1axel layout make no sense Link to comment

I think either is a good option tbh. 5 quads would still be a challenge and ~kinda~ still be in line with Yuzu's ambitions for this season, just without the 4lz - a compromise but not a huge one, probably not even a significant compromise points wise since he can get higher goe of the 4s and 4t solo and in combos. 4 would still be plenty competitive (esp since Shoma has gone back to 4, Boyang is doing 4 and Nathan doesn't know what he's doing yet, could also drop to 4 who knows) and a little less risk. Either way he's sticking to more stable quads. It might be worth keeping the two 3as around for the consistency and high goe tho. Whichever way he goes I'm not worried. It's a sensible decision to make. Link to comment

In that sense I will always remember the first Seimei run-through at ACI 2017. When the StSq section started with those drums I had tears in my eyes...what would I do to get this feeling again... The thing is I saw SEIMEI live in Barcelona (and this year at CoR) - it was great, but overall Helsinki was more emotional experience, maybe we must add a circumstances in the mix (like the gap after SP + landed CoD + long awaited second WC title). Like H&L in Marseille didn't have the same impact on me as in Helsinki. So every performance is different, would be great if every programme had it's special one Link to comment

I think H&L layout with a bit change like this : 4S 4Lo 3F// 4S3T 3Alo3S 4T 3A2T 3lz could work, the combo order is the same. He never land a clean 4Tlo3S combo in competition so I think going back to 3Alo3S is safer. If he bring 4lz in WC, it will be easier to re order the jump. Edit : I saw Mainichi reported about 4lz too. So just one more source and this will be a reliable news for me. Brian said Yuzuru is well trained, all jumps are good except 4lz and ofcourse they aim for OGM Link to comment
