Oh, that's sad. Is men's the only sold out games at Olys? What about other sports outside FS?

But ISU seems to not really know wtf is wrong with the way they're doing things. Like supposedly they recently took down a YT video of Yuzu's skate from worlds with 800k views.

Warning - Rant time:

I still remember people being douches about Yuzu fans taking up seating for ACI and then Skate Canada without Yuzu being so empty. And people saying the sport doesn't need that type of fans, but puh-lease the sport is alive because of all fans but especially the ones who will travel around the world to watch skating.

it seems most other sports had less seats available and were cheaper so sold okay? but from what i can see only mens sold out for the figure skating. i had previously heard it was the only event to sell out period but i'm not so sure about that. I found an article claiming 80% ish has been sold for skiing, bobsleigh and short track speed skating, about 55% for Biathlon and Nordic and 62% ish of the figure skating has been sold. Apparently across all events, 61% of tickets have been sold. Trump mouthing off and raising tensions with NK, not allowing NHL athletes for hockey and banning Russia probably hadn't helped sales but local Koreans are kinda meh about the games too because they don't really have any medal possibilities.

Initially men’s Sp, FS, and Ladies’ FS were sold out but they recently dumped some SP tickets so there’s availability right now for B and C level.

Men’s practice which is only Category A level sold out almost immediately.

The problem is the ticket prices for anything above C level is very steep. It’s over $300 for a Category B seat for any of the skating events.

Yep and the difference between a $150 "good" level C seat and a $300 "bad" level B can easily be 1 row.  I would hate to have a Row M Level B when I could have just had a Row N Level C. At that point it makes no difference.  They also recently opened some Level B up for premium price for the mens free through one of the ATRs. So clearly they know it's popular and they know they can gouge even more money out of people.  One guy bought from there and his seats aren't even better than ours for some events...

New magazine cover featuring Armani White ShirtTM

I guess it's a good thing Yuzu did that grand media day with all the news/magazine people because they won't be getting any new photos till Feb :13877886:

Yet another publication with Yuzu in the now-iconic white t-shirt! I wonder how many magazines have been published with Yuzu in white t-shirt so far (and whether some publications have published consecutive releases with them). I could only imagine their frustration :xD:....

Can't believe it's days away from Pyeongchang... I don't think my heart is ready but I miss Yuzu so much.... :13877886:

I made a Bad Life Decision and bought a ticket to the Free Dance on a whim. I'm really surprised (and a bit saddened) that A level tickets are still available for ice dance and pairs (and i imagine team event too) and theres B/C level tickets still available for Ladies....But the tickets are kinda pricey.

At least mens is sold out... But its gonna bug me if people bitch about The Fanyu's because really... without Yuzu's pull there'd be a lot more empty seats and competitions and a lot less viewers. The ISU needs to figure out how to make the sport more accessible and appealing or they're going to get a real nasty shock when YUzuru eventually retires....

Awesome, have fun

The thing is, I'll actually be in Gangneung during the Pairs SP and FS.. I would have liked to go and was also debating watching the other team events as well. But I honestly can't afford to spend almost USD$600 on each ticket (for Level A) or almost USD$400 for level B and I don't really want to go if I only get Level C seats? And it's not like those are cheap, either. It's really sad that there will be empty seats for the Olympics (and not because there's no interest) but what can I do, I already spent enough on this trip haha.. Don't get me started on the Gala. It's almost USD$800 per ticket for Level A?!?

I got row D in B level for the free dance. I think for 4CC i was B level and further back than that and still had a good view and was able to take some photos. B level isn't that bad tbh.

Oh that's great, congrats. over $400 for a ticket is still so much, can't afford it >_> which is sad because it's the Olympics and I'll actually be living in a hostel minutes way from the rink :P oh well, guess I'll watch on TV.

Yah i'm just gonna stream everything i can't go to. I'll be staying at a nearby hostel too so at least i have one more event before the gala so i'm not just sat in the hostel for like 8 days like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The worst part is these tickets are expensive and their ticketing customer service is absolute shit.

For a nation hosting such an international event I think the avenues to contact someone if you’re having issues with your ticket are slim to non-existent, and responses incredibly unhelpful. It made me wonder if the korean spectators receive a better response.

800$ Excuse me while I'm laughing here. Are they nuts?  I feel sorry for the athletes who will be performing in the half-empty arena while there are plenty of fans who'd be dbying to be here and witness thier performance but can't afford it. Great.

Yeah and that's only on the Pyeongchang website. All officials ATR's like Cosport also charge a markup for them :13877886: and they ban people from countries with official ATRs to buy them from the Pyeongchang website, bc of course they want to make $$ off of them haha

Sad . So sad. They never learned from Sochi. The tickets were pretty much unaffordable for the real FS fans so we all saw the attendance... And thisis in Russia where FS is one of the favorite winter sports. Shame
