  1. Looking back, it was a great visit to his old skating club. Although he could have spent the time traveling the area and doing some sightseeing like Niagara Falls or so, he preferred spending the time with everyone at TCC. No complains here. He just has an amazing hard-working attitude which never changes, even as a professional
  2. I just finished "Aoi Honoo III" and it is heart wrenching to read. It was difficult to read about most of the challenges he experienced through those competitions, the treatment, the injuries, mental stress... Despite that, he did not give up and tried to find his ideal figure skating under this system even though he had already accomplished everything and could have left with a proud chest after PC 2018 . I am really looking forward to Volume 4 now to get to know how he "lived" through the years of the pandemic.
  3. I just pre-ordered my copy of "Aoi Hono IV" on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/羽生-結弦/dp/4594094562/ref=sr_1_1?qid=1682509324&s=books&sr=1-1&text=羽生+結弦 Release date: 30 April 2023. So it will arrive in Germany around end of next week. I am so excited.
  4. I agree it was cruel how Covid stole years with competitions from us where we could see Yuzu performing live. But he made the most of it during the pandemic: being with his family, finished his thesis with an excellent topic and who knows what else he was up to, I am waiting for Aoi Hono IV to reveal the rest. Let's look ahead into a hopefully bright future: As long as he continues his skating, we still have a chance to see a happy, healthy, dancing, singing, acting and/or skating Yuzu Next question: who will appear next time at the rink side as his companion: YuzuPooh or old man Pooh-san?
  5. Right, additionally to the sand under the ice, the TCC ice rink is privately owned and only used for figure skating, so there are no boards which are needed for ice hockey. Instead it has mirrors, so they can watch their movements.
  6. Awesome idea. I would travel from Germany to Canada anytime for his ice show if I get tickets... Still dreaming of seeing his performance live one day
  7. Hi, I received my package this week (Germany). I paid shipment and handling fees via Amazon Pay around 10 days ago. You should have received a message from Worldshopping with a payment request for shipment. I don't know about Netherlands, but I had to pay 100 Euro in Customs Fees to the carrier when the package arrived. So better prepare some cash, depending on the amount of goods.
  8. For Yuzu's sake, I would prefer this to happen sooner rather than later. Thinking about him practicing and skating at night all the time is definitely not good for his health. Also, I read somewhere that he stated that the current practice environment is not ideal. So I hope they raise funds for a second ice rink although it's very expensive to build and maintain one.
  9. I truly hope that this show will be remembered and re-watched as long as humankind is alive. I also hope this will only be the beginning of Yuzu's masterwork. I don't expect him to do this often, but looking forward to other shows produced, managed and skated by him. After SOI, it's just on a different level. Of course, if there are blue rays or Disney+ streaming available for overseas fans, I am all for it
  11. My new "Always with Yuzu" Diary arrived today . I am so happy to continue writing in Yuzu diaries. Although I preferred the blue cover over the white one this year, I really like the pics in there. The pictures were all taken from his competition career. I hope, there will be pics from his professional career in the next Edition. But anyway, I usually write a typical Yuzu quote for each week, such like "Efforts will lie, but will never be in vain" to keep up the spirit 😊
  12. Agree. Compared to GIFT or Prologue, he can empty his tank in one performance and give it all he has got. Although it's a series of shows one day after the other, there is still more time to rest than in a two-three hours solo show. As long as he is happy, it's all right.
  13. Yeah, book 4! Cannot wait to pre-order it. I am halfway through book 3 with Google translate. Like every Fanyu without Japanese language skills, I am eager to get an English version. However, I am too impatient to just wait for overseas publishing companies to do it, although it would be highly profitable from my point of view.
  14. I discovered Yuzu very late, just at the Beijing Olympics this year after the short program. Then I watched his previous Olympic programs in Sochi and Pyeongchang and felt in love with his skating. Thanks to YouTube, Planethanyu.com and Facebook, I caught up on all available performances from the past within a few weeks. I have been following his professional career ever since and cannot wait to see him performing live one day. When he announced his decision to quit competitions, I thought my chances of seeing him performing live were forever gone and wished I had a time travel machine to go back to his first competitions. But thank God, there are still chances.
  15. Notte stellata, another ice show to remember. Unique, amazing and different. Yuzuru always comes up with new ideas to improve and make every ice show a different experience which amazes me every time. His collaboration with Kohei, dancing on the ice to dynamite, and his heart wrenching speech at the end. Worth watching ten times over, with lots of tissues at my side. I cried, screamed, danced along and felt excited and happy at the same time. Yuzu can do that. I hope, one day I can experience it live in the audience.
  16. His Phantom of the Opera performance was really the best performance of the show. I have to say that none of the others left a similar impression like him. Unfortunately, after Prologue and Gift, the level of ice shows have been raised to a level where normal ice shows no longer provide the spark to keep watching. Maybe I am doomed for any ice shows without major Yuzuru content. 😭
  17. The most amazing performances for me are: 1. Seimei PC Olympics 2018 2. Hope and Legacy worlds 2017 3. Parisienne Walkways Sochi Olympics 2014 4. Seimei Gpf 2015 Barcelona 5. Origin COR 2018 However, the most tragic and memorable performances are: 1. Poto COC 2014 (warrior) 2. Rondo Beijing Olympics 2022 (fighting despite all obstacles) 3. Ten Beijing Olympics 2022 (fighting until the end) 4. Poto Jnats 2014 (skating despite crucial pain) 5. LMEY WTT 2021 (what a save)
  18. I asked them again to combine the orders, as they only send a payment request for the shipment of one order. They are dealing with thousands of orders. So don't expect them to remember everything 😉. Certainly there are also others with several orders as there had been problems with sold out items at the beginning. The last thing I want is to pay double shipping fee. Then rather pay the 1000 yen for combining the orders.
  19. If it was not for Yuzu, I would not have become aware of the beauty of figure skating. Before Yuzu, I only watched fs occasionally and was more focused on the jumps, because they were the most anticipated parts. But now, whenever I watch Yuzu skating, I appreciate the whole performance, from start to finish. And even before and after that.
  20. I like most of his costumes, but my favorites are hope and legacy, origin and masquerade.
  21. My favorites are Seimei, hope and legacy, haru yo koi and masquerade.
  22. Grateful for Google translate and all the other translation tools out there. I am also reading Aoi Honoo III right now with my Google translate app because I don't want to wait any longer for a translated version, not sure if there will be any. It is not 100 % accurate, but I get a common understanding of what he wants to convey.
  23. It might have been different one year ago when I did not expect or could not dream of more than one or two performances of Yuzu during an ice show. But now after prologue and gift, I will rather save my money for an opportunity to travel to Japan for a Yuzuru produced ice show. Considering travel cost, accommodation, tickets and merch, it's not cheap, but worth the money. Even if it means fighting like hell to get through the lottery.
  24. Watching the show one last time and I have to say: It's a masterpiece. I personally love the ending freestyle skate the most, where he put all his might into it, full of expression and passion. Seeing him skate like this, I am really glad he left the competition circle so he can express himself in the best way he knows: no rules, no limitations - only the sky is the limit, and even then, Yuzu - FLY. Just music, the ice and him. That's enough to move the hearts of millions.
