Team we're fewer but still good!

So is he more or less confirming this is his last season? -
That baby is totes adorbs.

It's funny to me considering how prominent keigo/non-keigo speech is in Japanese that Yuzu would be all over the map with Russian, not realizing they have their own form of it.

Other Skaters' 2017/18 program announcements
Danibellerika replied to CupidsBow's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
I'm surprised he is ditching Spidey. That would have been an instant crowd pleaser. -
Yuzuru Hanyu mood board coming up!

Well it's not like Med (the other no 1 skater) has a lot of muscle tone in her legs. You can get that doing triples too.

Warm Fuzzies n'stuff.

Tara Lipinski got married. Not loving the hair or dress that much honestly. But congrats! http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/pictures/tara-lipinski-wedding-pics-her-dress-vows-ring-and-more-w489636/bridal-party-w489641

It wouldn't because all of ya'll would be . I'll record the aftermath for you lol. Someone's gotta.

LOL Marin talking about patiently waiting. It's your first year as a senior, kid! My idea of patiently waiting is it taking Shen and Zhao 3 olympics to get a gold medal. OMG I love this so much!!! As for Yuzu's legs...my first reaction was WHOA!! I mean you could tell he had good muscle definition in some of his practice pants, but wow! He could crack a walnut with those thighs! Thank you again, Plushy!

Awww shucks, thanks I'm more than happy to be joined by fellow fans with Pooh ears. I myself had the Pooh couple to thank from Boston! And I did in Helsinki lol. This was after he won. We spotted each other and the wife greeted me with outstretched arms and we hugged. Happy happy day, ya'll . I fear mine is outdated now though and everybody wants the ones Yuzu wore at FaOI. Also, I for one am really glad he'll be at ACI. Gives me a chance to nearly bookend this season when watching him compete. I'm just happy to see him skate.

I wouldn't feel sorry for Javi at all. Yuzu shouldering all the burden allows him to coast by with less pressure. And he can do less, not pushing the envelope, and get practically the same scores as Yuzu. They were ready to just hand him the title no problems after a completely lack luster season. He didn't need any momentum. And he still almost podiumed with that disaster of a skate at worlds. Javi has an advantage, he is aware of it, and he seems fine about it, or else he'd have been upping his tech too. He is a reactionary skater. Nothing wrong with that. A Spanish fan I met at worlds said Javi said (not direct quote) that Yuzu may be the best but he won't skate clean all the time and that's where he can take advantage of that.

Well I'm glad he did what we all pretty much thought he should do and we won't have to watch him struggling next season. I understand sometimes people have to figure it out for themselves, but I thought the writing was on the wall this past season pretty clearly. He'll do great in shows.

I could actually read that if I could zoom in more on the pic, but the resolution isn't good enough. I can see they drew her 2a/3toe combo though. Cute of them to use her best one.

If in Spanish would do autocorrect to "Patinar"?

Something about Yuzu's 4 lutz? Is there new video of him doing it from FaOI practice? Dare I dream the impossible dream?
-
While I could see the north wanting to use it as a chance to toot their own horn and show they're so great (*eye roll*), I can't see certain countries, especially the US and Japan, sending their athletes there. That decision would be extremely controversial.

Right in front of me in that free program (along with the 4S/3T). I was one lucky gal. *ETA* I thought new posts are supposed to automatically amend to the prior post when you double post. I don't know how to copy new quotes into old posts lol.

I would love to contribute to that one! I need to post more in the Japanese study one myself. I have a question about Yuzu's speech at the end of the last Niigata show. Jim Breen...way to bring it back. Completely forgot about that one! I just went to the site and it looks exactly the same from the early 2000s. When I'm on the computer I just convert to good 'ole jisho.org. For my phone I actually have an app I really like called Takoboto. I like it more than Jisho actually and it allows you to compile a list in case you want to refer to that word you looked up later. I think google translate does it too but...meh. I was born, raised, and currently live in Washington, DC so my accent is as Washingtonian as it gets. I'm surprised people don't have trouble with Bostonians. I would think their lack of R's could get confusing for people (kinda like the southern twangs). "Pahk the Caah" "Wicked Smaaht" Though not all of them sound like that I've noticed. When my one friend met me she said my accent sounds like someone you'd hear on the news as a reporter, so I assume I have a fairly neutral American accent. I actually don't find speed to be an issue. If I know the word he says, I understand it. Same with Nobu. But the issue is I don't know a lot of the words he says, lol. On the flip side, I usually can understand Shoma and Satoko easily.

Sochi was the first one to do this. As for medal events, there is the flower ceremony at least. I think athletes probably want their medals right away. I know I'd be itching for it. On the other hand, if you're upset about your finish maybe you have time to collect yourself to not look too depressed on the podium. But still a medal occasion is supposed to be a happy one for all. And I can definitely see money being a reason to drag this out. I would have to stay an extra day each time, so that's money there. You have to actually PAY for the ticket, so that's money there (though nominal). Like, this is way too expensive for me to go to the event and maybe not even see the medals.
-
Well, I for one am infuriated. That's two extra days I gotta stay in town or near town or wherever for these festivities. I wanted to travel to Japan or Hong Kong after the men's was over. And I was not looking to try to camp out in the bitter cold to get a decent view (because you KNOW that's what's going to happen with it being so close to Japan)
