  1. @turquoiseblue Thank you very much indeed for volunteering to approach Ice Rink Sendai Let's hope that they will be willing to help us. I have sent gifts to Yuzu via the service provided by JSF in the past. The information page on the JSF website clearly states that this service cannot be used for retired skaters. Given that Yuzu has made his change of status to professional athlete, the JSF forwarding service is now closed with regards to Yuzu. This is a long standing policy and it is clearly published on the website, so that is fair and should be respected.
  2. This might mean that Canada could be one of the first tour dates if Yuzu produces a show outside of Japan. Please save me place in the ticket queue I was pondering this earlier. Then if Finland is next stop, Yuzu and Pooh san will be able to visit the Nature and the forest see the other Poohs who have returned to the forest and then on to Moomin Valley. What a happy thought
  3. Dear Fellow Satellites Hope that everyone is feeling better It would be a huge understatement to describe the last few days as having been an emotional roller coaster. It was a considerably more drastic one than even seasoned fans have had to experience before. Even though a few days have passed, some if us are still reeling from the shock and I myself have been asking should this have been predicted. In some ways yes, timing wise, maybe less so Some of the interviews have confirmed many fans suspicions that Yuzu was very aware how he was being scored, what that message was all about and how he had at first thought that by trying harder, proving that he could still challenge new quad jumps, he might have turned that tide and received appropriate scores. Sadly, Yuzu has revealed how awful it had felt not to have been rewarded for the efforts and the pain when the realisation came that irrespective of the quality of his performances the scores would never truly reflect the reality. Something, that I would like to express is gratitude First and foremost to Yuzu, for just being the most magnificent competitive skater and all round wonderful, kind hearted, thoughtful person. The gift os his competitive and ice show programmes and all of Yuzu's achievements cannot be erased, because there are records and we, the fans will remember and cherish everything given to us by Yuzu. Yuzu in his new professional skater self will in time give even more to the FS world and that is something to be thankful for. Yuzu has a close and loyal circle of support from family, friends fellow skaters, past and currently active, other celebrities, media persons to name a few. There have been notable detractors, but it is useful to know who not to trust as much as who can be counted on. There will be 'fly by night, fair weather fans who might decide to leave the fandom, that's fine. There are many other staunch supporters who will continue to follow Yuzu and await the announcements about new venture and endeavours that Yuzu will bring soon Volunteers in Beijing - Yuzu was shown a great deal of kindness and consideration in Beijing. It was a difficult time and Yuzu has now described that he felt under a lot of pressure, was suffering with doubts and suffered another injury. Even if perhaps those volunteers had not been FS fans or Yuzu fans before. The volunteers made Yuzu's time in Beijing something that he can look back on with pride and some contentment If anyone here on the Planet was a volunteer or knows someone who was, I'd like to tell them thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for taking care of Yuzu, when fans could't travel to support him. The 20,000 postcards shows how much love Yuzu received. A thousand thanks again Thank you for your indulgence
  4. When Yuzu revealed during interview that Old Man Pooh san had had to be left behind in Canada, this fanartist was super quick to produce a touching little cartoon. Wishing Satellites good cheer today, hope this lovely drawing helps to heal your heart
  5. IIrc, In an old interview ha mentioned coaching but more along the lines of mental preparation and the mind set to cope with elite level sports, which would not necessarily be limited or exclusively geared towards FS. Given how Yuzu had to cope with a natural disaster and it's aftermath, injuries and illness and be away from training during recuperation, the awful issues of not being rewarded Yuzu fully understands the sacrifices and resilience needed to overcome such challenges and pressures and succeed. He would be an excellent coach for anyone needing the right mentality to be a champion. This would also mean that the athlete(s) Yuzu worked with would not need for him to have dealings with ISU, because this type of coaching is generally more behind the scenes as part of the wider coaching team
  6. I can see Yuzu competing in Summer games, archery or trap shooting Discovering the translations of the interviews, please never ever again let Yuzu be subjected to that kind of mental cruelty. If Yuzu decides that he wants to compete in FS in the future. By all means. but only after a complete investigation and overhaul of the IJS, with robust safeguards to ensure that bias in judging is removed by use of high def multi angle camera system and AI movement analysis with a review and instant appeal system, for GOE, like Gymnastics and transparent judging and refereeing process. ISU should be placed on probation, having to demonstrate strict adherence to a pre agreed code of practice, good governance and external audit for all competitions and competition results, having to report to and be subject to regular review by a larger International Sports governing body or ombudsman.
  7. .Something to ponder courtesy of Astro Physics When a star has consumed all of its fuel, Hydrogen. The next chemical in the chain is Helium. Once the Helium has been consumed the gravitational forces overcome the now failing fusion reactions. As the dying star collapses the intense gravity forces the atoms together to produce heavier elements. Only super massive stars can become supernovae and these are the only stars which can create the heavier elements which create the building blocks of life. These building blocks are dispersed through the universe as the star explodes. Only from the total destruction of these super massive stars can something new be created.
  8. For the sake of context, here is a currency conversion 1 billion Yen = £6 million = $ 7.5 million = 7 million Euro ISU deficit approx $4.5 million per annum, latest figures from the congress. Further information for your consideration: ISU income is mainly derived from Figure Skating, yet this income is split between Figure and Speed for various funds for skating related projects, skater support, prize money etc. ISU council is mainly comprised of ex speed skaters. You will be able to deduce what the main driver of cash coming in to ISU coffers was,( for the past 10-12 years ) and also think about whether the distribution of monies within ISU was at parity for the 2 branches of skating.
  9. Well it seems as there are already 2 places with a pin on the World map for the Yuzu show tours. Lucky Helsinki, Finland and Toronto, Canada. Yuzu will most likely want to retrieve Old Man Pooh San and then visit Moomin Troll. Canadian and Finnish Satellites, we are relying on you to help acquire good group tickets
  10. @Anabel Good Day Lovely Satellites It seems that people are interested to send a support messages to Yuzu. Anabel and I have investigated using a high quality photobook service to compile messages A separate thread will open shortly to discuss the project General idea, take a photo of Virtual Pooh Rain with a written message for Yuzu and in which country you reside. We will put a Pooh on a map to show that support is Global. Send photo, for inclusion in the project. Of course if you don't have a Pooh any visual tribute for Yuzu will be just as good The most important aspect of this is that we would like Yuzu to see that lots of fans are excited about the future projects that Yuzu is planning and will continue to support him. We want everyone orbiting the Planet to be included, if they would like to be involved. The intention will be to send the completed photo book to Ice RInk Sendai *As a matter of courtesy, we are appealing to any of the Japanese speaking satellites.* Please could one of you volunteer to approach them, to check if it will be alright for the Planet to ask for their help to ensure that the gift reaches Yuzu.
  11. @birnasan @SummerMemories Thank you for the translations It is very kind of you to take the time and make the effort to help non Japanese speakers access the important interviews from Yuzu
  12. These fan tributes are so intense but made with lots of affection for Yuzu
  13. From your translation- This is actually pointing out that it had been noted that there were scoring discrepancies, not only that but that the scoring rules were applied differently to different individuals. From this paragraph there seems to be an inference on the part of the tweeter, that this was a factor influencing the final decision making process to leave the competitive sphere. Apologies if this is extrapolation on my part, if it is not, then this is serious information to be absorbed
  14. Hello Darling Satellites Just a few thoughts, please ignore if they are too wildly speculative, but they might give you a smile at least and see us through until there is firm news about what Yuzu will do next COVID put a stop to many shows including some collaborations, so there are still some unfinished projects Yuzu was due to perform with Il Volo, the performances had been scheduled for tour in Japan and China? Toshl is keen to have another collaboration with Yuzu, he has published this on several instances on Twitter and other platforms Palavela put on ice show exhibitions, they are putting on an exhibition about the painter Klimt this December just before GPF. Clearly they have both the facilities and willingness to host exhibition performances/ shows. There will be other venues which can host similar Organisers of shows will undoubtedly be extending invitations to Yuzu from now until the end of time So many opportunities for Yuzu as well as headlining a show that is his own brand If he appears in Holiday on Ice in the UK, the box office will need to employ new staff and have an upgraded telecoms system to cope - just light hearted thinking, not going to happen or will it? Yuzu would be a good Prince Charming or other leading man
  15. Pooh san is the best coach, but also the best Yuzu avatar
  16. Hi in summary: They begin by giving thanks for Yuzu, how he is an artistic, expressive and athletic complete skater. They believe there will be no skater like Yuzu. The writer is inspired by Yuzu because he and the writer have asthma, the writer learned to skate aged 13 and they thank Yuzu for the longevity of his career They say they are sad that they never saw Yuzu in competition but they want Yuzu to do well in the future, be happy and healthy and to see him skate professionally Hope that helps
  17. FIG World Champs Oct - Nov in Liverpool
  18. The visit to JOC, maybe they requested an audience with the King and need more help with the Sapporo bid and to measure his hand to make sure the Olympic torch will be comfortable for Yuzu to lift and light the cauldron
  19. This makes me overjoyed and be super happy for Yuzu. Sponsors, advertising agencies, ice show backers, requests to appear on TV shoes and as commentator. Yuzu's projected earnings just from ice shows - just wow, wow, WOW. I'm more than delighted for him. Yuzu does not come across as at all materialistic but it is reassuring that he will be very, very well provisioned for the future and has solid backing for his projects.
  20. A King without a crown is still a King Yuzu "My Captain, O my Captain" Still some tears, but anticipating the next adventure with smiles
  21. I had wondered if that route might be feasible. It might be sensible to make an enquiry as to whether they would be willing to undertake this, otherwise it might be seen as presumptive and the message and gift may not reach Yuzu The Planet would need someone to reach out to them if that option was to be explored
  22. Hi Admins, Mods, Satellites Is the Planet planning to organise a planetary wide "good luck for the future type of support message" for Yuzu? It would be something to confirm ongoing support for Yuzu and an affirmation to him that people still want to be involved with whatever has has planned for the future. Leaving competitive life cannot have been an easy decision. The timing of the announcement after having said he wanted to ratify the 4A still seems off kilter, just a couple more ISU events, Challenger series even, could have let Yuzu have his childhood dreams fulfilled. For many reasons, both his own personal reasons and possibly some external factors, Yuzu has left the competition arena. Yuzu mentioned that he had felt unsure about reactions from fans and although Yuzu owes nothing to anyone outside of his close circle, it would be really nice if his concerns for fans could be allayed with a message of support. Now that Yuzu is no longer with JSF or TCC, finding a contact to deliver a physical gift or dedications book might be difficult, but there must be some way to do it and if funds are required I would be willing to offer a donation to help with this project Thank you for your indulgence
  23. Yuzu never signed with a mega agency and your circumspection about a contract with a corporate giant is probably wise It would make me laugh if Yuzu made a few guest appearances in a Disney in Ice production, dancing with Pooh san, would be a super cute little number IIrc Yuzu performed with M and M Mouse and some children for a charity event in the past
