  1. Once again Yuzu demonstrates how mature, considerate and courteous he is towards the people who are important to him. The majority of those selected confidantes showed respect for Yuzu and kept their counsel until the press conference. Whilst it is shameful that there was a leak and that it made it into the press, the impact of the leaked announcement was overshadowed by the manner in which Yuzu conducted himself. Yuzu delivered his announcement eloquently and gave all his supporters a hopeful message and he appeared content with the decision and his future plans. This is far more meaningful than a poor quality 'shock' tactic article Hoping, hoping , hoping for some news of Yuzu's exciting new endeavours and an adventure that we can all be part of The journey continues....... ps. @caramelicht @Geo1 is savant, party to arcane knowledge, do not question the veracity of the messages, it is accurate, just believe in him.
  2. This issue was brought up at the ISU congress. It takes a long time to train judges and even though the judges themselves are volunteers, ISU bears a considerable cost training them and providing them with suitable accommodation, board and pays for flights and other competition expenses. A proposal was made to ensure judges served for several seasons, but the proposal was rejected. Not only is there a dearth of judges, some of the smaller feds do not have any judges or tech specialist representation because they do not have enough people putting themselves forward to embark on the training programmes. Some smaller comps, there is such a lack of judges, that there is no back up judge if someone falls ill or tests positive for COVID. The referee has had to submit scores in order for there to be quorum, for the judging panel. Astonishing really, but somehow also. not surprising.
  3. Quite so. What is more, in complete contrast, Speed branch uses cameras and replay to look at false starts, photo finish and fouls like obstruction or trips. The camera angles, freeze frame and slo mo are sent to the referee who looks at the footage in order to make a decision. The racing stops whilst the ref conducts the investigation until the judgement is made. It's utter double standard to use tech for one discipline and not another, often with the fallacious argument that it causes delays to the comp. Some people must be under the false belief that FS fans fell off the Christmas tree yesterday
  4. The i scope data and the ice coverage with jump locations display looks really good for audience to see and clearly there is a system of technology which can analyse all of the important data from any given skater's performance, and produce objective measurements. The analysis seemed to be completed quite quickly and the data presentation is plain to see for judging /scoring and available on screens. Comments which allude to AI adding difficulties for judges because it will take too long to get results back, are clearly nonsensical. This video shows the pictorial / numerical analysis of the performance in real time and the time taken to award a score, did not seem any longer compared with competitions where technology is not used for judging. (May be I'm missing something, but excessive resistance to the use of technology to aid judging seems illogical)
  5. Still have my GP money and waiting for Yuzu Airlines to start selling flights as well. I hope that Yuzu's ice arena will be a leisure complex with a hotel and Yuzu museum. The new rink will need a dedicated tram line as well to cope with the visitor numbers hehehe
  6. Heavens above, I think that I wrote in a post a little while ago that Yuzu should try to have a dedicated arena built for shows and masterclass coaching. It was a joke that it should be called Yutopia Ice World and something along these lines, it would be a wish upon a star for Yuzu. The potential for Yuzu to really contribute to the economy of Sendai and Tohoku by having a tourist attraction for shows and exhibition would be amazing. Hanyuconomy brings in real money, the evidence is there in the accounts from the parades, merchandise sales and the donations of royalties and Yuzu's other personal donations and charity appearances. A dedicated venue for Yuzu shows would be a huge tourist draw, with all of the finance that tourists spend on hotels, food, travel, souvenirs and the prospect for employment within those sectors. It will take a long time to come to fruition, due to the time required to build a sizeable Ice Arena ( the timeline stated 3-5 y ) Truly a representation of hope and legacy
  7. This sums up our warrior Emperor He made his stand and departs competitive life on his own terms, his dignity preserved and the promise rebirth Yuzu the Phoenix The Poem by Dylan Thomas is very apt for this fan tribute to Yuzu
  8. Yuzu the Muse inspires legions of fans to create tremendously moving tributes.
  9. So heartwarming to see more clips of Yuzu and how attentive and considerate the Team China skaters behaved towards him. Boyang Jin has mentioned in the past how kind Yuzu was to him when he moved to seniors. Boyang, unlike some people best not mentioned, appreciates Yuzu's kindness and returned to favour to Yuzu.
  10. It seems that he is talking about the dance moves, so many pirouettes and leaps in quick succession, the result is he is exhausted and has a headache. It is also clear that he is a very committed and talented ballerino and is inspired by and highly impressed with Yuzu's skating From the video it is obvious how good Yuzu's posture and dynamic movement is in terms of flow between connecting elements, the athleticism of Yuzu's performance and how expressive he is, just highlighting a few points out of the many wonderful performance elements that Yuzu executes @Pammi When you have chance to watch the video you are in for a real treat, thank you for posting I will never tire of saying, Yuzu is a phenomenal athlete and muse ( It puzzles me greatly that some people are either unable to recognise or refuse to acknowledge the above statement - you know who this is directed towards )
  11. Daily Spread Eagle Ice Emperor Issues a New Decree Henceforth, there will be no further annual sojourns. Following the eruption of Mt Irene on July 19th 2022, a river of molten gold poured out from a gargantuan fissure, from the sides of the volcano. The gold formed a large lake at the base of the mountain and obliterated the pestilential overgrowth of Paporika plants. Forestry worker Poohs have been collecting the liquid gold and ensured its safe transfer to the Palace. The jump Ladies had already been gathered at Palace Hanyu and had been eagerly expecting announcement of this year's sojourn. Palace officials have reported that the ladies were astonished and somewhat disappointed, when the Ice Emperor declared that the annual sojourn was instead cancelled. The sojourn destinations had included some of the Emperor's favourite places - Moomin Valley in Finland, a new opportunity to pay respect to the vaunted blade smiths of Sheffield in the United Kingdom and Torino in Italy, land of the chocolate roses. However, the Emperor expressed that he had misgivings regarding the reception that he might receive, which in recent years had become increasingly unwelcoming. As a result the Emperor announced his final decision that he will no longer undertake the yearly sojourns. The Emperor travelled throughout the lands of Planet Hanyu to deliver this message in person. Envoys from Earth gathered to hear the Emperor speak of his decision and there were many requests for an audience with the Emperor to discover the reasons behind his decision and to pose questions as to what the Emperor's plans might be. The Emperor spoke of how much he had enjoyed making the yearly sojourns and presenting the most beautiful stories from Planet Hanyu to the inhabitants of Earth, but that he wished to spend time and effort on bringing the stories of Planet Hanyu to a different audience. When pressed further about his plans, the Emperor responded in an enigmatic fashion, stating that he hoped that people would continue to enjoy the stories that he wished to convey from the rich culture of Planet Hanyu. The envoys asked the Emperor when and how he would bring these stories, but again the Emperor replied that he had not yet decided, but it would be soon. The envoys begged the Emperor to explain everything more clearly but the Emperor declined and took his leave. Prime Minister Pooh has given the following official statement issued from Ice Emperor Hanyu: Ice Emperor Hanyu is now on retreat in order to spend time on the creative processes required to showcase the stories of Planet Hanyu. During the Emperor's time in seclusion, Palace Hanyu will undergo decoration using the gold from Mt Irene. All envoys must return to Earth to await further announcements and invitation to attend the Emperor on his return. Palace Hanyu will not be receiving visitors whilst the Emperor is in absentia The Court Circular / Society pages There has been much speculation as to the whereabouts of Emperor Hanyu. Many envoys, Planet Hanyu citizens and satellites believe that the Emperor has journeyed to the fabled Ice Cave of Sendai and will seek enlightenment there. It is also thought that he may also be attempting to locate and then tame the mythical ice beast Yonkaiten Axel. It has been rumoured that the court musicians and tailors have received instructions from the Emperor and their work is now TOP Secret. The musicians and tailors have retired to the Palace ballroom and sewing studio respectively and locked themselves inside. Only the most trusted Pooh retainers communicate with them and bring their requested supplies. In further news: A multitude of artisan Poohs have been seen entering Palace Hanyu and there will be there for some time. Wagon loads of barrels containing enough honey to last many months have been delivered to the Palace.
  12. There won't be any shortage of financial backers, it would just be a fitting tribute from the multitude of wonderful satellites to write Yuzu's biography and turn it into a documentary drama for the global audience to which we satellites belong. ( I would most honoured to be allowed to interview Yuzu on behalf of the Planet, but would probably have to fight my way through the crowd of eager prospective interviewers and writers before even being admitted to the throne room for an audience with the Ice Emperor. I would of course take gifts of single bloom honey for Prime Minister Pooh in order to be placed at the front of the queue )
  13. @lajoitko @Yuzuwinnie Really great videos It would be wonderful if Yuzu revived these masterpieces and performed them wearing the competition costumes and have a cinema launch followed by a Blu-ray release A film of programmes featuring Yuzu, the music and without the audience would sell like proverbial hot cakes. It would be less complex to organise as a first project compared with the logistics of putting a show together and we might see professional athlete Hanyu sooner compared with waiting for a big production It would be equally fabulous to see something similar to music like Sia's or pieces from the Epic genre, like Two Steps From Hell. Although Yuzu would be more likely to debut new programmes live at his shows Actually I can't wait to say that Yuzu will be performing in his inaugural eponymous show/ tour ( the Paganini costumes from JWC might not fit, Yuzu might need a new costume for this performance )
  14. Nice fun thread about programmes in different costume
  15. @Anabel the covers are wonderful work
  16. The Planet should crowd fund this project It is one of the most engrossing true life stories after all
  17. I hope that this is full package tour. Flight with Yuzu airways, stay at the Yutopia Hotel in the centre of Yutopia Ice World and VIP tickets to see Yuzu's show - 'Yuzu on Ice'
  18. Saw this video: Yuzu vs a headband
  19. The website should employ people to manage the site and Yuzu can post things via the website. It would be a good means for fans to see news and updates, whilst maintaining a necessary distance between Yuzu and fans. It could still provide a suitable portal for communication like fan messages and questions and can be monitored suitably, to filter out anti posts
  20. Hopefully, if Yuzu has a PR company they should organise and monitor a Yuzu communications page for publicity purposes. That way Yuzu will not have the issues associated with having his own social media account
  21. I'm so envious of the people who have been able to see this inspirational Yuzu exhibition and also those able to purchase the lovely merchandise. It's good to hear that a portion of the profits from the sales will be directed towards the recovery efforts as well.
  22. Yuzu performed white legend as his Short Programme for 2010/11 season. Only 15 years old and this was his debut senior season. His artistic interpretation and beautiful 3A are already surpassing some of senior men of that past and this current time. Yuzu beats his SB score for the Short from NHK and goes on to beat the SB score from Rostelecom when he competes at JNats later in the year, when Yuzu has just turned 16 The video posted here makes for an interesting comparison to the White Legend performance for 24hr TV eleven years later. I never tire of saying Yuzu is a phenomenal athlete
  23. @Pammi The White Legend performance must have been particularly poignant because it was the 10th anniversary year for that programme. It is a gorgeous piece which will forever be associated with Yuzu in the early years of his senior career and the charity ice shows for the Great Eastern Earthquake
  24. It is a TV day devoted to fundraising for charities. Yuzu has performed some of the Gala pieces which were composed and choreographed for the Earthquake appeals. Pre COVID there was a small invited audience from disaster affected areas. Some of the rinks used, were linked with the disasters or where Yuzu trained when Ice Rink Sendai was damaged and he needed a training base. Yuzu is one of the celebrities participating in the event and also features prior to the event in promotional advertising. Last year Yuzu performed Hana ni Nare at Ice RInk Sendai, he wore the peach coloured top decorated with embroidered wisteria blooms, same wrap over kimono style as Tenchi. it was a beautiful and emotional performance, just Yuzu and film crew, no audience due to COVID restrictions Edit: Yuzu singing along / lip synching is something tremendously endearing
