Yeah, this is exactly what I think. Of course, I prefer his PE and IN above all else. He is my kind of performer. I like depth, genuinity. I honestly don't like fixed characters (this reminds me a little of studying acting and the fixed characters that are so popular in that field). And I agree that what Yuzuru does is more complicated than everyone else. And for that reason, Javier and Shoma 'arrive faster' to the audience, in a more simple, immediate way.

!! I'm glad he did it. Definitely glad. He needs to go into his first Olympics as fresh as a daisy, not injured. I'm glad his team suddently got some sense smacked into them. I wonder if they knew about both of his injured ankles or not... Also, SOCHI YEAR! What the HELL was I doing in 2014, that I didn't watch Yuzuru at least at Olympics?? Ugh, ugly years. After all, I'm glad I got to know him during my happy, healthy years. Also, happy because now we have TWO no-quads athletes in the GPF...what the hell... US federation must be happy.

Sorry, this was just too perfect for the moment

Cute, adorable, perfect trash

Well, if Japan could go to Eurovision, he would be the perfect contestant and he could do Koi Dance. He's flashy, he's trashy, he's got the moves, even though we're not really sure of his singing abilities. He's perfect! Make Japan join Australia in participating in the Eurovision!

I WANT THIS. GIMMIE.

Yes to everything you said. Yuzuru's "style" is more delicate, and being more delicate, it 'breaks' more easily in the eyes of the spectators. This fragility may take away from him the 'number one in PE and IN" title. But it's probably what his fans appreciate the most. His being real, always, and human. Never portraying a character, always being himself (even with Seimei). Aaaah I am so soft for him though.

Basically, the theme of the second half of the podcast was 'differentiation of the PCS components'. So, to be fair, being objective also means that Yuzuru doesn't necessarily have to be the best at EVERYTHING, ALWAYS. Max is the first one to demand 100 in PCS when Athletes deserve it (and he only asked for it twice: GPF 2015 and World 2017. For Yuzuru). So he is the first one that says that Yuzuru is the most complete skater. But, there's nothing wrong in saying that Yuzuru could learn one thing or two about PE and CO from Javier and Patrick, whom are his seniors, have 3 years of experience more than him. Also, Shoma's concentration during his programs is higher than Yuzuru's, imo. Yuzuru's mind goes everywhere and anywhere, you can often see it. Shoma being always focused allows him to be perceived stronger in IN. Although, I think Max and Angelo didn't quite consider the music component. In my opinion, Yuzuru is the strongest in music's interpretation. The way he listens to his own music and performs every element to the beat of the music, is unbeatable.

The truth is, Max and Angelo can't quite say their personal opinion, which is - they've already said it many times - that Yuzuru Hanyu is the greatest skater of all time. But they have to be objective during the podcast, and they wanted to try and distinguish clearly the differences between Yuzuru and Javier. And I do agree that, among the two, Javier's Performance ability is more 'extrovert'. He's better at projecting. Yuzuru steals your heart during your competition, but he does it silently, when he's not writing history with world records. Yuzuru's PE and IN varies very differently from performance to performance.

I'm listening to Max and Angelo's podcast. So far, they've talked about PCS a lot, but they didn't talk about the singles voices of PCS individually for now. They only said (so far) that the star skaters that deserve more or less high PCS in all the components are Hanyu, Fernandez and Chan (in this order). The other skaters are incomplete in some voices, thus the scores need to be more differentiated (Uno, Chen, etc).

YAY we are in the year of... I guess... punk rock 90's or something... I don't know I was 4 at the time, and probably my problems started at that time LOL Eta: ops, no, I'm 5! I'm already 5!!
-
Extra-motivation. "I want to learn this so that I can put Seimei in my earphones and pretend to be doing the program with Yuzuru". GAAAHH!
-
YAYYYY THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY! I can feel a little bit of his happiness when he will unwrap the banner and enjoy all the love Yeah, I think this comes back to the way PCS are badly judged. Skating skills and transitions are like the little bricks that make up the big house that is figure skating. If you're not paying attention to that, if you're not distinguishing those who work on it and those who don't, then it's like you have a 5/10 of vision, you should wear glasses and not call yourself a figure skating expert.

He just... gave it to her, he didn't even pretend to be undecided about where to throw it xD She was the only one with the banner, probably holding it was tiring and he was like thanking her... too cute...
-
Thank you! I love your charts... I think every skating journalist should read this... especially US journalists...

Yuzuru's name popping up more than anyone else, obvs. So satisfying every time. Wanting to be good at everything is always the winning strategy. Not everyone can afford to attain it though.

So... if I could ask him one question... I'm cheating: I'd ask him to teach me how to do a spin on ice, and to return the favour, I would teach him whatever he wants on the piano (like, the beginning of Chopin Ballade 1, or whatever). I always lose myself in words and I think he's the type that does it as well, so... the nicest thing would be a little exchange of abilities... *I'm too squishy at the thought. Oh dear*
-
Give me news... give me a ninja photo... a ninja smile... four words, 'back on the ice'... or 'happily resting & playing videogames'... ARGH
-
The sound of those 3A... the sound of him rotating in the air and the sound of the landing... so strong and yet so soft... *squish*
-
Aaah I understand! Let's hope you never do that, ralucutzagy, we would lose, like... 100 pages or something!
-
I wake up with... -15 pages of when I went to sleep last night?! What is this witchcraft??
-
I know that guy! I tried to imitate him too, but I totally failed.
-
How do you try spins and do them? Every time I 'try spins' I 'fail to rotate more than twice and stop on my own'.
