I don't expect Yuzuru to dive into say... Carmen or Les Miserables, but I do expect Yuzuru to use at least one Classical/baroque era piece and Yuzuru seems fond of piano and Chopin. If Yuzuru wants to do Japanese, but still mainstream enough that he can get immediate (western)audience recognition, that's going to be tricky. He can go for something from a Ghibli movie, tho I don't know how willing he is to skate Hisaishi again. Something from a video game maybe, Legend of Zelda is big right now since the new game just came out(after how many years? lol) and Final Fantasy has plenty of iconic soundtracks, tho I imagine it would be hard to do a video game soundtrack without coming off as at least a little childish(expectations sucks, never forget that). Either way he has plenty of options, it's just picking the best one is gonna be some work.

If Yuzuru can get a -3Lo combo consistent + good distance and running edge then adding it to his layout would be a good rise in BV(he can replace that -2T). Otherwise like meioma said it's not worth training. 3A-3T +3.00 GOE(not that the judges are gonna let him get it ) is worth more than 3A-3Lo +0.00 GOE and 3A-2T +3.00 GOE is barely worth less than 3A-3Lo.

Honestly, it's cute how much he loves his name. So many people take their names for granted nowadays, Yuzuru's love for his is just precious. Aside from 2010-11, Yuzuru's POTO used a lot of cuts from Masquerade, which has a lot of strings. But yeah, that aside it's been a while. Yuzuru interprets Japanese music so well imo and like you said, if most skaters can skate to western music over and over, there shouldn't be a reason why Yuzuru can't skate to Japanese music again so long as it's not too similar to his other two programs. I think as far as politics is concerned, it shouldn't be a problem if Yuzuru skates to Japanese music so long as it's not nationalistic. Like I imagine Seimei might put up some red flags(tho it's still pushing it imo), but something like H&L or something by a JPop band and most video game/movie OSTs should be fine.

(I'm bringing this to the music thread since it seemed appropriate) Imo Chopin's four Scherzi are quite underused and imo have the potential to become great FS music. After seeing what Yuzuru can do with Ballad no. 1, I think he can do the Scherzi(no.1 and 4 especially) justice. As for the other part of my wishlist, Yuzuru and Japanese composers is a match made in heaven. I would love to see him skate to more music by Japanese composers Akio Yashiro, Somei Satoh and Yoko Kanno comes to my mind immediately. Coincidentally, Satoh and Kanno are both from Sendai as well.

I try to be neutral, but Yuzuru's constantly underscored TR marks and GOEs, I will forever be bitter about.

I can let IN go because it's "subjective" (tho I'd give him a 10 if it was up to me lol), but TR isn't and I just??? Yuzuru has so much in the way of transitions, what more can he do??????

I mean if after 2 world titles, 4 GPF titles, 4 National titles, an Olympic gold medal and several world records later all the haters could do to insult him is through personal attacks and regressive opinion instead of aspects of his person that actually affects his ongoing career then... who's reaallly winning here?

My two cents on Yuzuru's recent popping habit. I think his injury from last season is probably the big reason. He mentioned when he first tried skating again, he couldn't even land singles and basically had to reinvent his technique as to not aggravate his injury, it wouldn't be a surprise if that bled over into competitions. Also the all edge jump(minus the -3T) SP probably isn't helping either.

Not a serious suggestion, but I've always wondered what a program to La Campanella(the piano arrangement, not the orchestra) would look like. That aside I would love to see Yuzuru skate to anything by Akio Yashiro. His work has a lot of tension and quiet build up that I think Yuzuru pulls off well(looking at Seimei). His Piano Concerto especially has all sorts of tense, eerie vibes :s_yes
