  1. Sure, we can pull this before Nice and since the purpose of these streaming parties will be to give a better idea of Yuzu’s achievements it will lay a good ground to watch a competition first where Yuzu didn’t do as well. I’m wondering if we could watch both the GPF and Worlds in one streaming party but that would last around 1h 45min + 3h 30mins which is just too long... I think what we could do different this off-season is instead of watching the same thing twice every weekend we could watch GPFs on Saturdays and Worlds’ on Sundays? (That’s of course if we can find all the videos for each season)
  2. Last off season we tried to have two dates to stream per week so that everyone could join across timezones And we only did it on weekends which we will keep on doing this time, as well. Hope you can make it to many!
  3. Those are great resources thanks!! (I'm on the boat of too impatient to rewatch whole groups so this will help by making it more fun)
  4. @Fay had a great idea for a planet off-season streaming party project that could be interesting especially for newer fans who want to understand Yuzu's skating life a little better (and I'm a little excited about it)
  5. Off-season is coming which means it's time to fill the emptiness with streaming parties Since there are alot of new fans who may want to understand Yuzu's struggles and the importance of his achievements better @Fay had the idea to make season streaming parties but with a twist. We will be watching the last groups of some major events in Yuzu's skating life instead of just picking out his performances. It will give a much better idea of Yuzu's achievements to watch him in the full context of the mens field of the time, to see where his competitiors were standing in comparison to him, how they fueled him and how he ended up dominating the sport for such a long time. We count on both older fans and newer fans to participate so that it can become a learning experience! (I also count myself as a new fan here because I admittedly have only selectively watched other skaters' programs of earlier seasons and haven't been an FS fan for very long.) So we thought we would start with Nice 2012 and see what competitions we can find in the following seasons. (If you know of competition uploads of full groups make sure to link them below.) Since we will be busy for the coming weeks we thought it would be good to start after the parade end of April/beginning of May. List of our streaming parties: World Championships in Nice 2012
  6. Well since Yuzu kind of optimized the steps into his 3F in a way that keeps his edge inside at take-off I can imagine it wouldn’t hold true with an euler entry? Just a guess And I’ve actually been thinking about his euler lately and it’s optimized for a sal. The euler and sal are like one fluid motion and there is no pause between them.
  7. There is always room to fall deeper into the Yuzu pit.
  8. He had us, the arena, our emotions and sanity, our future and our past, our lives and our deaths, our physical and emotional well-beings all in the palm of his hands within those 20 minutes or so from when he enterend until he left the arena
  9. Just dropping this here without comment
  10. I am sorry for misunderstanding you then because it sounded alot like you were saying Yuzu is restrained in his performances because he is Japanese. Yuzu not being a rockstar is your opinion and you are welcome to express and defend it.
  11. Fitting the current subject I just found this German article http://www.dw.com/de/yuzuru-hanyu-der-schüchterne-star/a-42624116 The title goes "Yuzuru Hanyu- the shy star" the article later says that Yuzu is generally considered shy. I'm completely lost to where that comes from because he is anything but shy.... I think in a lot of cases people's own observations of Yuzu (and other Japnese skaters) are overwritten by their preconceptions of what Japanese/Asian people are like. They don't bother properly observing Yuzu and taking a look at him which influences his reputation which in return influences how judges score him and that is harmful. So I think we should be careful in how we project our cultural preconceptions on skaters
  12. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think if any offense was taken it’s not because anyone considers restrained a bad attribute. It’s because you assume Yuzu restained based on the fact that he is Japanese.
  13. Projecting your own experience with Japanese people on Yuzu, no matter how representative your experience is, might not be accurate. Yes, Yuzu does not express his opinions too directly and has a very intelligent and diplomatic way with words, but when it comes to expressing his emotions he is very unrestrained.
  14. Yup, Yuzu isn’t even the only example of a Japanese skater who can perform the heck out of an extroverted program
  15. Yuzu is not restrained, at all. It feels to me you are trying to see Yuzu from a limited, what you think Japanese people are like, perspective but that’s a misrepresentation of him. Yuzu is a rockstar and he owns it
  16. Yuzu just won his second Olympic title like what? 2 months ago. Listing utopian amounts of titles is easy on paper but there’s an unimaginable amount of hard work and sacrifice behind Yuzu’s 4 GPF, 2 Worlds and 2 Olympic titles. Let’s just pay his existing achievements the due respect for now and not get ahead of ourselves
  17. I was definitely not joking when I said that the ppos is my favorite costume but tastes differ
  18. Sleep is overrated tbhh https://www.rabb.it/robinsandsquirrels Everyone is welcome to join this spontaneous streaming party eta: thx for joining guys, that was funnn
  19. You guys are putting me in a mood. Who'd want to watch all LGCs together now if I made a rabbit?
  20. This is a personal attack. You’ve insulted my favorite costume
  21. Yeah... But I have a lot of time and motivation right now and it should be fine as long as I’m careful
