  1. I admire him so much for his mindset and attitude I CAN'T Hearing him say that he has no regrets about his performance is music to my ears
  2. True! He really worked on it and I have a suspicion he just loves how well he can incorporate it into choreography. It’s just like another choreographic element, like twizzles (but better). Also reminds me of the placement of the 3F in H&L. It’s so close to the half point mark. If he had moved it a bit later he could have gotten some more points for it but he really seems not to care as long as it’s placed where he thinks makes the most sense within the choreography
  3. Hmm I think it’s hard to compare his GOEs (or success rate lol) for the 3Lz with 3F in the last years bc 3Lz has been the second to last/last jumping pass Well all his 3Fs always deserve +3s nowadays. It’s really a thing of beauty and there’s really not much he could do better. But you know! It’s not a quad.
  4. I like this one better ofc I was thinking in terms of Yuzu’s planned layout for this season
  5. I got a knock off edea one but I wasn’t aware I was buying a fake one off the internet so don’t judge lol hmmmm it didn’t damage my parent’s granite floor but my own old linoleum floor got some scratches. Depends on your floor and the density of its material in relation to the plastic of the spinner
  6. I really hadn’t thought of this as a real program lol Just so we’re clear I am not making any actual guesses for Yuzu’s jump layout for next season bc it’s really hard to tell what will happen to 4Lz and 4Lo (and 4A) at his point
  7. Hm let’s say a jumping pass is removed in a straightforward fashion next season it would make all the less sense to do quad-quad combos to eliminate doubles. I’m just assuming Yuzu’s jump repertoire that was planned for this season for the sake of argument, a layout like his would eliminate doubles with 5 quads: 4Lo 4Lz 3F // 4T 4S3T 4TLo3S 3A3T 4T and 3T are repeated
  8. Yeah I didn’t think abt replacing a double with quad at first but added that in my eta The difference in BV would be a little more significant but it’s possible to eliminate doubles completely by increasing the diversity of quads but not the quantity. I’m not sure how layouts are gonna work under the new system but under the current one Yuzu could have eliminated a double this season by adding the 4Lz to a 4 quad program by not repeating any quads and repeating 3Ts instead: 4Lz, 4Lo, 3F // 4S3T 4T 3ALo3S 3A3T 3Lz I’d take a wild guess that a quad -quad combo in a program stacked with all kind of quads minus 4A would be extremely exhausting, especially with the 30 sec cut and more dense programs eta: fixed some typos lol
  9. Afaik they're not allowed in SPs. Only 4-2 or 4-3
  10. Practicing on an off-ice spinner really helps in getting used to it and in general it helps with spins. It's easier to do it off-ice (I can do scratch spins off-ice but I can merely pull my leg across on the ice)
  11. Quad-quad combos don't make much sense within the current system. Having a quad-quad combo doesn't mean you can include more quads, the triple that is being replaced in the combo will still have to be accomodated in the program as a standalone triple somewhere. So the BV of the layout isn't raised by much, just the BV difference between a 3T and a 3Lz of 1.7 points at most. Additionally Yuzu would also have one more jumping pass where the GOE is curved by 0.7. The GOE of jumping passes that include a quad or a 3A are curved by 1.0, so the jumping passes which include a quad or 3A have to be maximized. So by including a quad-quad combo he could only gain up to 1.7 points but also loose up to 0.9 points in GOE (in case he gets +3 GOE on that standalone triple). Considering how draining and difficult a quad-quad combo would be and the risk that would come with it that's simply not worth it. It would make more sense to work on a quint or something LOL tl;dr: The risk is super high and the reward is minimal eta: I realized a double could be replaced with a quad in a combo lol so the BV could be raised by 4.7 (2T -> 3Lz) but it still would make more sense to just learn another jump

Aw don't worry about it. I got the notification, thank you lots!
  13. He used to lip a lot. Yuzu manages to keep his 3F edge inside now with the help of really difficult transitions which will be hard to transfer to a quad jump. He’d end up lipping again

Aw thank you you so much!! I got the notification
  15. I try so hard to work on my turnout, whenever I am waiting for the bus or really just standing around I try to stand in 4th position (while running danger of looking stupid) but my improvement has been minimal... Although I have actually managed to hold besti squats for a few seconds last time I skated Not sure if that will be possible after this injury tho
  16. Just hitting that position is so impressive! (can't help you tho as I am far from being able to do IBs)
  17. Oh I have never seen a mohawk entry into sals. That's interesting! That reminds me, the only two other people in my skating class jumping flips (both who skated professionally in their younger days) do flips from mohawks and my coach advised me to learn them from mohwaks, too, when I started out because that way you don't run danger of "curving" too much into the jump. But I just hadn't seen any flips from mohawks before and I don't like mohawks so I just practiced "straight" 3turns instead lol I still have to learn how to do left back counters for my waltz jumps LOL (Have I considered jumping clockwise just so I can use the back counter entry? Yes. I failed ofc lol)
