  1. They were talking about the 4T and they were wrong.
  2. This is another old thing but anyway I have noticed someone asking the real x monster about Yuzuru 4T3T at GPF 2015. Kurt and British commentator bla blah it was UR. Let me tell you, it was not. Here look at the screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/AtKmTK5 His 4T was short lie 60-70 degree at most, not even up to 90 degrees. It was FINE. At some point, I roll eyes at the commentators but well...
  3. When the toepick leaves the ice, it always leaves some certain ice marks. Different skaters with different technique leave different ice marks. For example here:
  4. This might be old but since I have just seen it again: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/176774895159/this-might-be-completely-random-but-ive-recently To tell if a jump is UR or not, you have to count from the takeoff mark on the ice compared to the landing mark. If we have an ideal angle it will be easy to draw a circle and measure the degree. All jumps are executed on a circle (or like the takeoff and the landing form a circle, if you image). So some camera is tricky and makes you think the jump look bad. In reality, the behind sideway camera is the best.
  5. Alice has made detailed posts on the jumps here: Toe jumps: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/169727183234/the-takeoff-toe-jumps Salchow: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/173853635574/the-takeoff-salchow Loop: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/173219245859/the-takeoff-loop Axel: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/170255891199/the-takeoff-axel

  7. ISU official videos on jumps. Just the highlights. Please look down every thread to see the other parts. Toe Loop: Flip jump: Lutz jump Loop jump Salchow jump The Axel jump
  8. You know Yuzuru has a very beautiful and long spread eagle:
  9. For fans on Twitter, this thread collects various topics on figure skating in general. There are posts and videos on all 6 types of jumps, talks on skating skills, posture and judging, please enjoy. If there are questions, you can send OP on the Curious Cat account:
  10. Yes, I think the wording can be better. But well... for now I think should just forget about it. Btwt I have seen someone repeatedly mentioned Machida’s comment on Satoko and they tried to twist those words to attack Yuzuru. And I was like.... “Oi... he did not even talk about Yuzuru at all let both of them alone!”
  11. Beat me to it... I can not believe I see same "someone with the same reason and same gifs" on Twitter, to 2 other forums. I mean that someone really believes she can make people think Yuzuru takeoff the 4T from full blade by using her blurred images? While they have HD videos of his jumps all over the place? On Skate Canada... I remember Skate America has had glass medals as well, Gracie dropped her glass silver once and it broke into pieces. She was sad they would not give her another one. I think it is just French Fed and Didier and their poor taste that turned off the fans because their designs were horrible.
  12. Everyone, apparently even on some other forums, some certain one keeps dragging around blurred images of Yuzuru's 4T and keep persuading people that his 4T was taken off from full blade. That "someone" used a blurred image and it is funny because I have seen that same one on twitter and other places. I know people will not fall for it. But well my friend kinda got annoyed and made this video to prove the superiority of Yuzuru's 4T. Sorry for bla bla, in short, I just want to advertise this video. Sorry, I know it is kind of shameless PR from me but it means no harm. Enjoy: Apparently, my friend has made a good video with HD quality of Yuzuru 4T from the takeoff to the landing. I love the quality of her video. She really has put a lot into it. I hope people will love this one. Now I am encouraging her to do other videos of his jumps. Cheers! By the way, on the talk about the other older members of team Japan and their comments. My opinion is that... well, we can very well disagree with them at the same time stay calm and feel nothing towards such comments. People have different opinions. We better turn away and ignore them if you feel so wrong about it. And if the said people truly believe so, then we just know that their opinions can do nothing against the fact that Yuzuru has shown us a miracle. And years from now on, or even right now, at this very moment, do you think some negative comments will take away the respect from the majority of people in the skating world towards Yuzuru? Stay calm. I think it is fine. When Yagudin was still competing, his nickname was the flying chair without artistry. And that flying chair went on to win 4 WC and 1 OGM. When Plushenko was still competing, many people called him "just a jumper' and those comments could not take away all the golds and the influence he made. Even if I am not a fan, his results speak up for himself. And if we talk about Yuzuru, his results speak up for himself the most. No negative words can make his achievements weaker. The respect of the people towards his effort and his being as a respectable person and a great athlete remain the same. Let people talk the talk, it will all become the dust in the wind.
  13. Sendai ice rink has updated the latest dotation from Yuzuru. The first number is his latest donation and the second number is the total of all his donations until now.
  14. Seiko Hashimoto is JSF president. She is also playing an important part in JOC. She is not Kobayashi. You can google her name to see their faces.
  15. Yes many unpleasant issues happened from the time he became Japanese No.1 till the time he won Olympic again. It’s just not a big deal now I think. He is already an established name. It’s funny he has to win 2 Olympics to get this level of respect but well.
  16. So twitter folks have come up with this. Didier bragged about getting Yuzuru at IDF, Alina Zagitova said she did not think she could be at Russia. Original GP assignments for the top skater might have been: - Evgenia: SC and CoR - Yuzuru: NHK and IDF - Alina: CoC and IDF - Boyang: CoC and IDF - Kolyada CoC and CoR Then Chinese fed WD. ISU and the rest of other feds got a riddle to solve. Korea and Italia said no. Then the Finnish fed was kindly asked to step in (and they might have asked for Yuzuru). So after last minutes deal ISU have managed to get: - All the original skaters at CoC moved to Finland (Alina, Boyang, Sui/han and Kolyada). - Yuzuru to be moved from IDF to Finland because of hanyueconomy. - Evgenia moved to IDF because no Yuzuru at IDF they need another big name to sell tickets for the French. And since Evgenia is moved to IDF, Alina is moved to CoR. - Yuzuru to be moved from NHK to CoR because it is unwise to make him do back to back GP and Russian fed be like: "Ok we send Med to French but we want Hanyu here instead." - JSF really wants Yuzuru at NHK but they never have issues with selling tickets anyway. Finnish and Russian Fed are so smart here.
  17. There was a rumor that Italian fed was asked so... maybe... Chinese Fed: "We are done with ISU events this season." ISU: "Oh NOOOO. Korea, will you accept this?" Korean fed: "Not profitable. Sorry." ISU: "Oh, please, Italia, please accept this, Carolina is still competing, don't you see?" Italian Fed: "Too expensive, NO." ISU: "Finland, PLEASE WE BEG YOU!!! MY SAVIOR! YOU ARE THE GODMOTHER OF FIGURE SKATING!" Finnish fed: "This godmother wants big names." ISU: "Japan, Russia and China sweeties... I am very sorry but.. how about Hanyu, Zagitova and Sui/Han..." JSF: ........ Russian fed: OK, then give Hanyu to us as well. XD Chinese fed: Whatever. We are done with hosting events. JSF:.....WHYYYYYYY.....
  18. this one summed up the whole thing:
  19. The Chairman of Finnish fed said this. I think it is safe to assume that Yuzuru not at NHK not because JSF does not want him but because ISU wants him at Finland because... well....
  20. Tara Lipninski, Dick Button and some other skaters in the past also point the toe outward in the Flip and Lutz. It is rare but not something no one did.
  21. Most men mess up when huge pressure is on them. Plushenko did pretty much walk through 2006 not because he was so much more amazing than the rest but mostly because his rivals were all headcases of those days. Sorry Lambiel and Jeff but that’s true. Also, after 2002 or frankly after Yagudin retired, Plushenko almost had no rival so he practically level down his base value and still won most of the time. Even though Plushenko was solid throughout his career, the fact was that be stayed with same watered down layout for years. That’s the biggest factor of his “consistency”. But still that’s better than his rivals anyway. It is normal for most men to do well then they face less pressure than normal. Also it’s also normal for most men to do well when their rivals mess up. It’s also normal for the men to mess even when their rivals mess. In short, men skating has always been like this. Yuzuru will do well as he skate last when the other do well before him. But he didn’t enjoy skating before his rivals in the free. However he has learned to adapt to that at the Olympics. He has learned to cope up with the skating order. Or at least that’s what I hope.
  22. Eteri can read English just fine, she lived and coached in US for a long time. I think she was not in the right mind when she made that comment about Orser.
  23. Exactly, he did not say we should not let them do quads at such young age. The point is will they keep their quads when they grow up and that issue no one will never know until they're all grown up.
  24. Get your fact straight before commenting. This is exactly what Orser said: I see no problem for him to say this. Anyone remember Miki Ando doing 4S when she was a kid and how she lost it when she grew up? Been there, done that. Good luck to all the young ladies trying to do quads. But no one can say they're going to grow up with fully rotated quads once they pass the puberty. I gained 10 kgs during my puberty and lost the weight when I got older but that was a hard time for my body. It can happen to all the ladies out there. It is a normal concern.
  25. As an Asian woman I never had anyone touch my waist. If it’s a group photo and any man do that I would walk away. It’s just weird and I never touch people unless it’s necessary. I think it’s just Yuzuru has that perspective. Isn’t that normal? It’s normal here.
