No expert here but my Japanese teacher said that づ would be pronounced as 'dzu' compared to ず which is 'zu'.

It sounds like he has a crush

Nope, but you might need to try with several browsers. I can't remember exactly if they changed it but iSakura required Flash which Chrome doesn't support anymore. Maybe they have now updated their platform to make it so that users don't need to run the plug-in anymore.

The competition is going to be broadcasted on TV Asahi. It's also listed on iSakura. The Mini package includes the channel as well, so no need to go for the more expensive rate: https://japannettv.com/wpshop/index.php/isakurapro-mini/

I don't know whether they are questioning the GEOs but they are certainly comparing them side by side which makes me so proud because it highlights the perfection of that combo on Yuzu's side. But also makes me incredibly salty all over again.

Not any news, so not tagging them as such. Let's just all focus on pretty things.

Thank you! So does that mean that Mexico got a spot in the end after all the fiasco?

This is no longer a sport. It's a dictatorship (obviously a lot more insignificant than actual dictatorships).

I’m too tipsy for this he almost makes it sound like Yuzu is lonely and all I want to do is give him a hug
-
He’s spoiled us rotten for sure. Admittedly, I haven’t been following the sport as religiously in the past as I do now since ‘discovered’ Yuzu a couple of years ago. I remember however the random times I would watch it as a person with ‘conscious memory’, if that’s even a thing. From 14 to 17 years old, Seeing Sasha Cohen, Stephane Lambiel, etc, I liked watching them because of how artistic they were. I even liked Brian Joubert to some extent but that was me being more physically attracted towards him than because of his skating But only with Yuzu I realised what FS really means and I really can’t see myself downgrading from that anymore. Someone just as special or even more needs to show up for me to follow them like I do with Yuzu. ETA: and YES to Sui/Han. I really can’t get enough of their 2019 WC program

I do wonder where the line between subjectivity and objectivity gets crossed though. My case is a funny one. When it comes to figure skating, an artistic sport that granted combines artistry and athleticism, I certainly prefer the more artistic skaters than athletic ones. Now compare it to tennis for example. That sport is purely athletic, there is nothing artistic in it but a lot of fans saw Federer’s style as ballerina-like, effortless, beautiful. While on the other hand (and my personal favourite) they saw Nadal as the brute, the muscle guy with more power than skill. Some people just prefer the athletic type regardless of the sport, and others not. I’m not sure why I quoted you specifically to say this ha! And I’m just rambling at this point, being it my 2nd birthday on my own because of COVID and having drank 1/4 of a bottle of red wine after not drinking much for the past year. Cheers.

Oh f**k no. Considering that it's the ISU, I can't help but think they manipulated the results to prevent them from competing.

My immediate reaction the moment I saw that live was wondering how long it would take her to travel from Stockholm to Russia with that spin.

Probably very late to the party considering the amount of pages I still have to read through but the US is already a country as a whole that wins a lot of medals during the Olympics in general, losing one in figure skating if they only boycott one discipline is not going to hurt them in that sense and I believe that figure skating is just a spec of little grain in the USs grant scheme of plans. If they go ahead with the boycott it would be for the whole Olympics, every discipline and that is something that the IOC won't want from a business point of view.

I found myself doing a Yuzu pudding too after the last few posts. I really don't want to use the R word but H&E almost does feel like his goodbye after he achieves his last goal. Because of all the thought ha has put into it, it has this aura of iconicness (is that even a word?) that I believe will only be appreciated by everyone further down the line, after some time has passed. I think he will eventually do the same with a new SP. I don't believe he will stick to LMEY for much longer but will instead look for that special piece, that special thing.

It was actually @Melodie who posted it, I just quoted and pouted

I kinda want the Hawkeye like in tennis, or VAR in football to be implemented in figure skating. And I don't care it takes the human side out of the equation. Those judges (at least a lot of them) deserve to be out of this job and get themselves a new one.

Indeed. As someone who's dealt with a mild PTSD, I can imagine very well how some people can get triggered by the slightest shake. Even a strong wind rattling something in a house could be an issue if they get triggered by noises.

I don't really think it's that weird. Japan has had one small quake every other day for decades, if not every day. It's just because March is the anniversary of the 2011 one that they get more attention this year. Just look at the 2020 stats: https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/earthquakes/japan/archive/2020.html Even when I was there in 2019 I felt a very gentle one in Hiroshima and another one in Tokyo a week later. I thought the one in Tokyo was just a train underground passing beneath us (like you tend to feel in London) so I didn't worry but the cashier at the convenience store smiled at us with glee and said it was a small earthquake.

I do One week into my new employment I told my boss that the knowledge database created for my role is not user friendly at all and that it should be improved. Meaning, that I will do so further down the line. Anyway, I agree that Yuzu will kick ass. I’m 1000% sure if it. He has a very special connection to TTCT (H&E) just like he has with Seimei and I think that gives him extra confidence.

Athletes become accomplices when they remain silent. And those are my two cents in this. Cheers.
