I think Japanese citizens would have a stroke if they had to go through 2 Olympics in 1 year, having to deal with all the tourists I mean Speaking to some of them last year while I was there, you could already see most of them were dreading the Olympics 2020.

I think it's because Japan is still very much an all TV nation. That's what I realised at least when I was there a year ago on holidays. You would think there is no point in buying the rights for any competition either as now ISU streams it for free but they still do. They like the commentaries. I mean... they put the faces of their panel members in little bubbles to show viewers their reaction. I read somewhere that was because a lot of Japanese people still don't know how they should react to certain jokes or comments so having the "face bubbles" is almost like an aid for them.

^^ Ditto. The more attention you give them (bad or good), they eventually win anyway. It's best to just ignore everything they do. Forget about the "fakewards" and focus on the best figure skating has to offer in your own way :-)

Unfortunately, these decisions have to be made more and more these days. People with pre-existing lung conditions who contract COVID-19 most likely will have to be put on a ventilator. There was a video of a doctor here in Europe where he explained the ethical decisions he had to make so far. Who to put on a ventilator? Someone who contracted the virus or someone who had a sever accident? Elderly or young? All this because there were not enough machines at the hospital to provide vital support where needed. It's the stuff that you never hear about, or only see in movies unless you experience it in person.

Thank you for sharing this! :-) I will never understand how people manage not to sob when talking about something that is very close to their heart (although there were moments I do believe he was about to cry). If I had been in his shoes during that interview I would have turned into a waterfall, snot and everything.

Self-isolation is no fun, especially when you live alone like me lol I love to be at home, I'm a homebody, but knowing that I'm actually not allowed to leave my house when I want to for the next 7 days because of a sore throat and 37.5 degrees (max) more than 24 hours ago is driving me nuts And the fact that I'm posting for the first time while complaining about my situation shows how fed up I already am Sorry, I'm not going to do it anymore. I guess I'll have 7 days to stuff myself up with Yuzu things, rewatch my Yuzu playlists on Youtube and watch anime.
